While it aired, the first season of Westworld could hardly have been more closely scrutinised for clues, twists and Easter Eggs. Between sites like this one and lengthy Reddit threads, fans went through Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy’s sci-fi drama with a fine-toothed comb.
The result of that careful work by fans meant that by the game-changing finale, most of Westworld’s secrets had been laid bare. Many fan theories had been proved correct. Nods to the 1973 film and to Michael Crichton’s other famous theme park story had all been exposed. When the DVD and Blu-ray release arrived at the start of this month then, very few...

Yippee-ki-yay! It's action-movie time! From Die Hard to Deliverance, here's what the Guardian and Observer's critics think are the 10 best ever made. Let us know what you think in the comments below
• Top 10 romantic movies
Peter Bradshaw on action movies
In some ways, it should be the quintessential cinema genre. After all, what does the director shout at the beginning of a take? Action – at times a euphemism for violence and machismo – evolved into a recognisable genre in the 80s. Gunplay and athleticism resurfaced in a sweatier and more explicitly violent form, with movies such as Sylvester Stallone's First Blood. The hardware was all-important, and the metallic sheen of the guns was something to be savoured alongside the musculature of the heroes. The genre spawned the action hero. These were not pretty-boys there to melt female hearts: they were there to get a roar of approval from the guys.

There were broken fingers and broken hearts as Desiree’s men dodged balls and lassoed hay bales for her love, while Kasey and Des enjoyed some not sexy pool time. Plus, one contestant got an unexpected visitor, and things really got dramatic.
So much drama went down on this week’s episode of The Bachelorette! The June 10 episode begins and Desiree Hartsock is knee deep in balls. Dodge balls that is! Another week, another ridiculous group challenge, and I can safely say this was the most dramatic episode of all time.
The Boys Play Dodgeball For Desiree’s Love
Is there better way to find your potential husband then by making them compete for love through a ridiculous sports challenge? No!
The boys begin by practicing with National Dodgeball team and its a bit of a bloodbath. Chris Harrison arrives, and you know things are serious when he is wearing plaid.

According to a press release two-time Oscar nominee Tom Wilkinson has been set to star in the thriller Felony opposite the previously cast male lead Joel Edgerton.
Edgerton wrote a script and is also producing via his Blue-Tongue Films banner, while Matthew Saville (Noise) is directing.
Driving home after a celebration drink with his team after cracking the infamous gang bangers, a decorated cop (Edgerton) runs a young cyclist off the road, gives CPR to the child and then is caught up in an increasingly convoluted web of deceit after he lies about what happened in the accident.
Wilkinson will play a crime scene investigator Carl Summer, who arrives at the accident site and make an assessment. Exec producer Lisa Wilson said:
‘Tom Wilkinson is one of the most versatile actors around who inhabits every character he plays with an incredible energy and credibility.’

There are dozens of pop culture references that could be used to start this story.
We could go with a Fat Albert-esque question: “Hey, hey, hey… guess who just bought a huge portfolio of classic kids’ titles?”
And answer it He-Man and She-Ra style: “DreamWorks Animation… has… The Power!”
Or there’s the Lassie route: “What’s that, girl…? A company called Classic Media found a bunch of family entertainment characters down in a well? And now they’ve all been scooped up by Jeffrey Katzenberg?”
On Wall Street, they’re just saying it straight: Classic Media, an entertainment...

In the decade since "The Sum Of All Fears" hit theaters, becoming a modest success, Paramount have been keen to continue to mine the works of Tom Clancy that they've had success with on "The Hunt For Red October," "Patriot Games" and "Clear And Present Danger." Soon after that film's release, John Woo was signed to direct a movie version of "Rainbow Six," while in 2006, Joaquin Phoenix signed on to star in "Without Remorse" for director John Singleton. Neither came to pass, and a few years later, Sam Raimi came on to tackle a new take on Jack Ryan, Clancy's best known character, with reports that Ryan Gosling was being sought for the lead, but Raimi left almost as soon as he came on board.

Some new release dates have been announced in the last couple of days, two of which are films set to hit theaters in 2013.
I'll begin with the long-gestating release of Drew Goddard's The Cabin in the Woods which is set for a April 13, 2012 release and stars Chris Hemsworth (Thor) as a young professional who visits a quaint cabin in the woods with a group of friends and ends up scratching the surface of something so massive and horrific that they can only begin to fathom it as time quickly runs out. The film was co-written by Joss Whedon (The Avengers) and also stars Richard Jenkins, Bradley Whitford, Kristen Connolly, Brian J. White, Amy Acker, Fran Kranz and Jesse Williams.
Next is news that Warner Bros. has officially moved Zack Snyder's Superman flick, Man of Steel out of what was expected to be a December 2012 release to June 14, 2013. This...

Chad Michael Murray, who starred as the Lone Ranger in the recent WB Network telefilm of the same name, will star opposite Hilary Duff in Warner Bros. Pictures/Gaylord Films' Cinderella Story. The project is set to go into production June 30 with Mark Rosman at the helm and studio-based Dylan Sellers producing with Clifford Werber and Gaylord's Hunt Lowry. Duff toplines the Clueless-meets-Cinderella story, a modern-day comedy set in Southern California's San Fernando Valley. The tale revolves around a young and slightly dorky high school student who goes through a transformation, becoming one of the hottest girls in school. Murray would play her love interest. Warners creative executive Alysia Cotter brought the project into the studio and will oversee. Duff's mother, Susan Duff, will receive a co-executive producer credit. Signing Murray to the film shows synergy at work between the Warner TV and film divisions. In addition to his work on the WB's Lone Ranger, Murray was a recurring on the network's Dawson's Creek and The Gilmore Girls. He will next star in the WB midseason replacement series One Tree Hill. Murray is repped by CAA, Bonnie Liedtke and Simmonds Management.
