Get ready for the Amal Ball!
On Wednesday, the Metropolitan Museum of Art announced that the co-chairs at next year's Met Gala will be Amal Clooney, Rihanna, Donatella Versace and, of course, Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour. The theme of the star-studded soiree -- which is oftentimes referred to as the Fashion Oscars -- will be Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination, which is sure to inspire some outlandish outfits come the first Monday in May!

"Fashion and religion have long been intertwined, mutually inspiring and informing one another," says Andrew Bolton, Curator in Charge of The Costume Institute, of the theme. "Although this relationship has been complex and sometimes contested, it has produced some of the most inventive and innovative creations in the history of fashion."

The Third MurderDear Danny and Fern,By the time you read this I will have already arrived back home, four days before Tiff's end. Attempting to cram everything into a shortened schedule was a struggle for me, but I’m very satisfied with what I’ve seen and those few people that I’ve met. I wish I could've stayed longer, and I hope to be back soon! As a newcomer, I found Tiff to be a welcoming space that merges the many fruits of Toronto-tourism, cinephile gatherings, and late night city walks. And many, many movies! Possibly too many, but better more than less! There were a few rough patches but they were more tied to my inexperience (forgetting to charge my phone, forgetting to check my schedule, forgetting to eat, forgetting to sleep…) than anything. The sheer magnitude of the event made even the easiest tasks feel like...

While “Scandal” has never failed to provide Shondaland fans with shocking twists and fabulous coats, the plotting of ABC’s political drama has seemed to lack momentum lately. While an election plotline that stretched out over Seasons 5 and 6 did give the show a bit more energy, the show has lacked the focus which made it great in its earlier years.
That’s why “Scandal” fans should consider it good news that TVLine is reporting the show will end with Season 7, a decision apparently made by creator Shonda Rhimes. As we’ve seen in the past, having a clear sense of when a show is ending (as opposed to an abrupt cancelation) means those involved can ensure things properly. Below are just a few examples of series that benefitted from knowing that the end was nigh — and went out with a bang.

When it comes to the Met Gala, Rihanna does not mess around. Year after year, the pop star shows up and consistently kills it on the red carpet, following the exhibit’s theme to a T in a brand new custom couture confection that packs a major punch. So, of course, this year’s Comme des Garçons-themed gala was no exception, with the bad gal showing up in a floral Comme des Garçons ensemble truly befitting her red carpet royalty status.

Katy Perry has never shied away from a risky, rule-breaking fashion moment. Which is why, with her fearless approach to red carpet dressing, she was a perfect choice to co-host this year’s gala honoring Comme des Garçons’ Rei Kawakubo and her otherworldly, body-deforming designs.
After all, this is a woman who, for the last gala bleached her eyebrows into oblivion just to give herself that extra alien affect (and then added a Tamagotchi for good measure). This year, the pop star left her brows fully intact but otherwise doubled down on the Ott red carpet dressing, going even bigger...

What goes into styling Beyoncé for the Met Gala? Apparently, it can all take less than 24 hours. The pregnant singer will probably be a no-show this year, but as the first Monday in May rapidly approaches, we'd be remiss not to acknowledge the most epic moments from the biggest night in fashion's past. Bey, of course, owns many of them—remember her pale-pink latex ensemble from 2016? Then there was that high ponytail and naked dress combo for the China: Through the Looking Glass theme. Year after year, she impresses (in mostly Givenchy). And year after year, you'll see stylist Ty Hunter trailing behind her, fluffing and fixing her train on the famously steep, red steps of the Metropolitan Museum of...

We’re in Month 2 of Through the Looking Glass with President Trump. Any day — indeed, most days — we wake up and find our president has passed along new information that seems somewhat outlandish, yet is being put out to the world as fact. And then sometimes we learn that, as it seems, it’s totally wrong. Also Read: Trump Takes Meeting With TMZ's Harvey Levin (Report) He did it again today, claiming that President Obama released 122 “vicious prisoners” from Guantanamo who “returned to the battlefield” and presumably terrorist activity. 122 vicious prisoners, released by the Obama Administration from Gitmo, have returned to.

Wgn America's megahit, Underground, returns on Wednesday, March. 8. The pulse-racing, action-packed season finale left many of our heroes on uncertain ground.
The infamous Macon 7 were being haunted, and Noah was caught and thrown in jail. Rosalee made it to the other side, but without her love, and many of her friends. Cato, who was thought to have perished, made off with a chest filled with money, and Ms. Ernestine was separated from her kids and sold off.
Don't miss our slideshow of the 17 Best Moments so Far from the series.
With the introduction of famed abolitionist and former slave, Harriet Tubman, infamous slave-catcher Patty Cannon, and the eventual appearance of Frederick Douglass (guest star John Legend), Underground Season 2 will be even more politicized than before.
The women of Underground will be at the forefront of season two, as it reflects women historically being at the forefront of the movement, both...

It wouldn’t feel quite like the spookiest time of year without a parade of sexy costumes from America’s first family of reality television. And over the weekend we saw plenty of those, from Khloé’s interpretation of Storm, to Kourtney’s zombie bride, Kylie’s pitch perfect “Dirty”-era Christina Aguilera costume, and the many latex-clad goth looks of Kendall. But on Monday, the matriarch of the family Kris Jenner blew all of her children out of the water, schooling them at their own lingerie-clad game in a provocative Alice in Wonderland-inspired get-up.

Westworld‘s Teddy is one cute, sharp-cheekboned cowboy. But, if things continue apace, he’s going to have to rely on more than his looks, manners and tragic backstory to keep the love of his country cutie.
See, Delores is becoming a sentient being before our very eyes — a development that Sunday’s episode, “The Stray,” makes rather clear. And her fledgling personhood means she’s no longer swayed by her beau’s scripted promises of how they’ll be happy “someday.”

Andrew Rossi turns his documentary eye to the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual high-fashion bash
Andrew Rossi, the director of the illuminating Page One: Inside the New York Times, gains access to another celebrated Manhattan institution with his latest documentary. The film is an account of the run-up to the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute’s annual spring exhibition and the frock-and-awe red carpet Met Gala fundraiser. The year in question is 2015 and the exhibition is the most ambitious to date: China: Through the Looking Glass. Key characters include curator Andrew Bolton and adviser Wong Kar Wai, but the most compelling presence is Vogue editor Anna Wintour. “Andrew is a real visionary,” she purrs. “Our job is help him execute his creative genius.” Rossi later shows Bolton’s creative genius systematically deflated by a few icy darts of Wintour’s disapproval.

The Met Gala, otherwise known as the “fashion Oscars”, is the annual super-glitzified fundraiser, packed with A-listers, in aid of the Costume Institute of New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Arts; it is effectively run by Vogue’s Anna Wintour and has entered the laity’s consciousness via the novel and movie The Devil Wears Prada, which may now be influencing the behaviour of the people it was respectfully lampooning. This glossy, but frankly somewhat saucer-eyed documentary/promotional video is about its colossally successful China: Through the Looking Glass event, all about western responses to Chinese culture – an exhibition on which Wong Kar-wai and Baz Luhrmann served as consultants.

Is (lack of) audience turnout at theaters this summer an indication that people have become fed up with the massive amount of sequels pouring out of Hollywood? We compare box office results and popular trends regarding some of this year’s biggest films to find out what could be happening.
2015 was a tremendous year for big-budget films. Domestic (Us) box office totals were the highest that they had ever been ($11.1 billion). Those numbers were up a whopping 7% from 2014 (which was not a great year for big-budget movies). The big hits of 2015 were Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Jurassic World, and Avengers: Age of Ultron. Rotten Tomatoes aggregate scores for those films? 92%, 71%, and 75% respectively. Audiences and critics loved them. Indeed, many films in 2015 had similar good reviews and strong turnout in theaters: Mockingjay Part 2, Inside Out, Furious 7, Minions, The Martian, Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation.
