Kevin Costner’s tenure as John Dutton in Yellowstone came to an abrupt end last year due to creative differences with series creator Taylor Sheridan. After a successful four-and-a-half season run, the show is now at a standstill with Costner’s departure causing a huge problem for its continuity. Filming for the second half of the fifth season has not begun yet.

Luke Grimes has played Kayce Dutton on Yellowstone since the very beginning, but the main series will soon be coming to a premature end, largely thanks to the exit of Kevin Costner.
While speaking with The Independent, Grimes was asked about Costner leaving the series. “Whatever happened there is unfortunate if it’s changed anything about how the show was going to unfold,” Gimes said. “I know, [Costner] got busy with his movies that were like passion projects [the newly announced Horizon: An American Saga for one]. At a certain point, you gotta do what you gotta do, man; you gotta do what you love.“

Kevin Costner is planning to shoot Horizon: An American Saga Part 3 and Part 4
Earlier this week, news landed that the UK will definitely be getting Kevin Costner’s upcoming Horizon: An American Saga on the big screen. Costner has co-written, starring and directs the first two films in a planned four movie saga, and both will be in cinemas this summer.
Still, Horizon: An American Saga has cost a reported $100m a film, and Kevin Costner’s plans to shoot the third and fourth chapter looked to have been a little bit delayed. There were reports that he was rattling tins just to tie up the financing, after putting substantial funds into the project himself.
The thinking was that he’d thus wait until the release of Horizon: An American Saga – Part 1 and Horizon: An American Saga – Part 2 before trying to get Part 3 and Part 4 moving. Not so, though. Having...

Country singer Lainey Wilson, who joined the series in the first part of Season 5, shared that neither she nor co-star Kelly Reilly have any idea about what’s happening with Yellowstone.

A Variety cover story about the future of "Star Trek" includes plenty of exciting updates about the future of the series, but it's also just a trivia treasure trove for "Trek" fans -- including the ones who work on the shows. "Star Trek: Strange New Worlds" stars Anson Mount and Ethan Peck both noted how surreal their jobs are, while Mount also revealed that they get to go to work on a set named after part of a starship.
"Sometimes we call it The Holodeck," Mount told Variety when describing the massive augmented reality walls (similar to those used by Industrial Light & Magic's The Volume) that turn the set into a virtual-physical hybrid space. Variety's Adam B. Vary observed that Mount "[couldn't] help but break into a boyish grin" when he talked about the Ar walls they call The Holodeck, as if it's yet another childhood dream come true. Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan had a bad falling out with Kevin Costner, that essentially ended the series’ successful run. However, Sheridan was fully committed to the series which was inspired by all the Western films he saw as a youngster. One film that influenced the Wind River director was the Oscar-winning film Unforgiven. Sheridan approached his icon Clint Eastwood to get permission to use the Unforgiven theme song in one Yellowstone scene.

Eastwood saw the heart in Sheridan’s Western project and allowed him to use Claudia’s Song, something he never allowed other filmmakers to do. The song was written and performed by Eastwood in the 1992 film.

The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live was a special 6-episode spin-off from the original The Walking Dead series that told the story of what happened to some of the characters after the conclusion of the original series. Andrew Lincoln, Danai Gurira, and Pollyanna McIntosh reprised their roles as Rick Grimes, Michonne, and Jadis Stokes / Anne respectively, with the series receiving generally positive reviews and is considered an important part of The Walking Dead canon.
Now, the series ended on March 31, 2024, and The Hollywood Reporter sat down with the two main stars of the series – Lincoln and Gurira – to discuss the series’ emotional ending and how the story of the spin-off shaped canon.
The series – Spoiler Alert – ends happily, with the main characters surviving the events of the spin-off and are now in for a “happily ever after” scenario, which, as the actors revealed, was something that had to happen.

Although acclaimed filmmaker Darren Aronofsky stated that he would be directing an Elon Musk biopic at A24, this is not going to be his next movie, if reports are true. Namely, recent news suggests that Aronofsky is actually working on a crime thriller based on a book by Charlie Huston. The movie’s title is probably going to be Caught Stealing and as Empire confirms, the movie will star Oscar-nominee Austin Butler in the main role of Hank Thompson.
While speaking to Deadline, Aronofsky said the following about his upcoming project:
“I am excited to be teaming up with my old friends at Sony Pictures to bring Charlie’s adrenaline-soaked roller coaster ride to life. I can’t wait to start working with Austin and my family of NYC filmmakers.”

Could Kevin Costner return for the final season of Yellowstone? Perhaps. Despite exiting the series last year, a new report from Puck claims that Costner has expressed a willingness to return for a cameo or “possibly more” in the final season.
As Kevin Costner was always expected to return as John Dutton for the final episodes of Yellowstone, this would give fans the chance to get a little closure. However, before you get too excited, the report states there are no plans for Costner’s return at this time. The scripts for the final season are complete, and production is expected to get underway soon, so there would obviously need to be some rewriting if Costner did come back.

Sony is still a business, and betting on winners is essential to remain ahead of the race.

Embark’s free-to-play The Finals seems to be carrying first-person shooters on its back since it feels like there has been a drastic shift in the video game industry as not many multiplayer titles in the genre have been able to take the spotlight in recent times. Just three months after it was officially launched on December 7, Season 1 is coming to an end tomorrow, March 12, as far as the in-game battle pass countdown is concerned.
Fortunately, players will not have to wait too long after the first chapter ends, as the developer and publisher is releasing Season 2 later this week, and it looks marvelous.

There have been several PlayStation remakes of popular classic games in recent years, and there will be more in the upcoming year, but sadly, none of them will be Killzone titles. A leaker has claimed that despite several remakes being in the works, Killzone fans will be left empty-handed.

The PlayStation VR2 has been out for exactly a year at this point and has seen much success since the launch period. Despite the expensive price point, it was still a worthy successor of the original Psvr back in 2016 which served as a counterpart for the PlayStation 4.
The same dynamic is clearly present with the PS5 and Psvr 2, Sony is pushing for the symbiotic relationship of their hardware as they increase their focus and output of hardware and other accessories.

With Horizon: An American Saga starting its cinema rollout this summer, Kevin Costner now has a film studio where he can make the rest of the films.
Later this year, we get to see Kevin Costner return to the director’s chair for the first time since the brilliant Open Range with Horizon: An American Saga.
Costner has so far made the first two movies in the planned four-film arc, and Horizon: An American Saga’s opening films will get a cinema release in the US this summer. We’re still waiting to hear of UK release plans, with nobody to my knowledge – and I’ve been looking – thus far snapping up the rights.
There had been suggestions that Kevin Costner was struggling to get the funding together for films three and four though, as we heard in January. However, an announcement of a new development in the state of...

Brian Roberts said in a recent interview that he ‘asked the NFL to trust us’ to make an exclusive Wild Card game a success.
If NFL fans who fear a future of pay-per-view games had a problem with the placement of a 2023-24 Wild Card game exclusively on Peacock, Comcast CEO Brian Roberts hasn’t heard about it. Speaking with Front Office Sports about a wide range of sports topics, Roberts was highly proud of his company’s efforts in streaming the game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Miami Dolphins, and he had a blunt warning for those who would prefer sports remain only on linear TV.
“We took the risk…” Roberts said about the Peacock-exclusive Wild Card game. Roberts also spoke about his excitement regarding the upcoming Summer Olympics, which will stream on Peacock. The CEO also touched briefly on continuing discussions that Comcast will pursue NBA rights.

The current landscape is making it “increasingly hard” to fund British stories such as the Post Office drama that is currently dominating the news agenda, according to ITV’s drama boss.
Polly Hill, who commissioned the four-parter that is on the front page of every national newspaper this morning, raised concerns that shows unique to British culture such as Mr Bates vs The Post Office are “important” but “increasingly hard to make.”
“It’s now become harder to fund these British stories,” said Hill, who was likely referencing super-inflation in the drama market and the need to attract co-production funding, which can dilute editorial. “We must be able to keep making them, because Mr Bates vs The Post Office shows that drama can help make a difference, and importantly that the audience wants to hear them.”

Exclusive: With the almost impossible-to-believe Post Office scandal bedecking the front of every national newspaper this week, the writer of the ITV smash drama about the saga has said it “tapped into” frustrations with the “politics of the moment.”
Gwyneth Hughes, who penned the Toby Jones-starring four-parter, said the team has been “blown away” and “completely surprised” by the cut-through and media attention generated by Mr Bates vs The Post Office, as she detailed the legal quagmire and years of gaining people’s trust they went through to get the show from inception to screen. She was speaking in the hours before a motion attempting to speedily put the scandal right was debated by dozens of lawmakers in parliament.

Kevin Costner‘s absence from the 2023 Golden Globe Awards made one of the night’s most memorable moments. Now, his presence at the 2024 Golden Globes has produced another memorable moment thanks to his awkward appearance with Barbie‘s America Ferrera. Costner and Ferrera teamed up to announce the winner of the Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series — Musical or Comedy category. The first head-scratcher was the fact that Costner was announced as the star, director, and executive producer of the upcoming film Horizon: An American Saga, with no mention of Yellowstone. Costner won his first award for his performance as John Dutton in Yellowstone at the 2023 Golden Globes, and the awards show is broadcast on CBS, Paramount Network‘s sibling network. Perhaps it was the fact that Horizon hits theaters this June, whereas Yellowstone doesn’t come back with new episodes until November. But with all of...

Based on a real-life event, the BBC series, Mr. Bates vs. The Post Office, brings to light one of the greatest miscarriages of justice that took place in the British legal history. This four-part miniseries revolves around a subpostmaster named Alan Bates, who was accused of stealing money from his post office accounts, but Alan knew that it was the Horizon computer system that was to blame for these huge monetary discrepancies. Alan later found out that, just like him, many other subpostmasters had suffered the same fate, which ultimately prompted Alan to gather all those subpostmasters who were wrongly accused and demand a public inquiry to find out the truth. Alan Bates, played by Toby Jones, is inspired by a real-life person of the same name who fought against the injustice perpetrated against the subpostmasters. Let’s discuss Alan Bates’ character to learn more about him.

Alice Walker published her acclaimed novel “The Color Purple” in 1982. It sold five million copies; Walker became the first Black woman to win the Pulitzer Prize and she also received the National Book Club Award. Three years later, Steven Spielberg directed the lauded film version which made stars out of Whoopi Goldberg, Oprah Winfrey and Danny Glover. It earned 11 Oscar nominations. The story revolves around a young woman who suffers abuse from her father and husband for four decades until she finds her own identity. Not exactly the stuff of a Broadway musical.
But the 2005 tuner version received strong reviews, ran 910 performances and earned ten Tony nominations, winning best actress for Lachanze. The 2015 production picked up two Tonys for best revival and actress for Cynthia Erivo. The movie musical version opened strong Christmas Day with $18 million and is a strong contender in several Oscar categories especially for Fantasia Barrino and Danielle Brooks.

This is one of the largest leaks in the history of the video game industry in terms of both the quantity of leaked data and what, exactly, was included in those files. The leaked information includes everything from Insomniac’s upcoming intended release schedule for the next several years to the complete story breakdown for their upcoming Wolverine project. Crucially, the leak also includes the personal information of numerous Insomniac employees. Another Yellowstone fight is a-brewin’!
Co-creator and showrunner Taylor Sheridan has filed a lawsuit against one of his own stars — Cole Hauser, who plays the fan-favorite, murderous-yet-romantic Rip.
The whole thing is over coffee.
Sheridan’s Bosque Ranch — a filming location for Yellowstone and 1883 — filed suit in a Texas federal court against Hauser’s coffee company, Free Rein, on Nov. 21.
The issue? Free Rein’s coffee company’s brand logo looks similar to Sheridan’s company’s brand logo. To make matters slightly confusing, the brand logos look like literal cattle brands — Bosque’s logo has an intertwined “Br” and Free Rein has an intertwined “Fr.”
The suit alleges “trademark infringement, unfair competition and false advertising” and it roasts Free Rein for a logo that’s “confusingly similar to the Br Brand for virtually identical goods” and further alleged Free Rein is trying to “mistake or to deceive as to the affiliation,...

It’s part of a union between Kevin Costner and Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, a company we’ve not heard of, and have taken no advertising dollars from. Which isn’t to say we wouldn’t, they just haven’t asked. Tsk.

“Yellowstone” is gearing up to head back to the Dutton Ranch for the Paramount Network drama’s final episodes.
Production for the second half of “Yellowstone” Season 5 is expected to resume in late spring 2024, an individual with knowledge of production told TheWrap. Writing on the final episodes of the Kevin Costner-led series resumed shortly after the end of the writers’ strike, as the production team lays the groundwork to return to filming in the coming months, including nailing down filming locations and key staffing.
Earlier this month, Paramount Network announced that the second half of the fifth installment of “Yellowstone” was slated to premiere in November 2024, after the first half of the season kicked off in November 2022 and concluded in January. While the second half of the season was initially aiming for a fall 2023 release, the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes and other hurdles delayed production.

“Yellowstone” is officially gearing up to go back into production.
The megahit Paramount Network show will resume production on the final episodes of its fifth and final season in late spring 2024.
This is the latest series to announce a return to production, with many scrambling to get back to work now that the dual writers’ and actors’ strikes that shut down Hollywood for months have been resolved. Many shows, especially on the broadcast side, are getting into shooting new seasons in the coming weeks to salvage the spring network schedules.
It was previously announced that the final episodes of “Yellowstone” are slated to debut in November 2024, with Paramount greenlighting two new shows — the prequel “1944” and a contemporary series currently titled “2024.” Reruns of “Yellowstone” are also currently airing on CBS.
It was announced in May that Taylor Sheridan’s megahit Paramount Network series “Yellowstone” would be ending with its fifth season.

“Yellowstone” will come to an end in a year, as Paramount Network has set a November 2024 premiere date for the final episodes of Season 5 that will mark the conclusion of the blockbuster Taylor Sheridan series.
But what is dead may never die — Paramount Network also ordered up two additional spin-offs, “1944” and “2024.” Plot details are under wraps, but the latter spin-off could very well be the new “Yellowstone” series in the works that may star Matthew McConaughey.
All “Yellowstone” series are produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios.
The fifth and final season of “Yellowstone” was originally scheduled to air this year, but production schedules were shifted due to the strikes and other hurdles. The first half of the season started airing in November 2022 and concluded in January, and by that point the second half of the season was aiming to air in the fall of 2023.

The current iteration of Yellowstone has a timeline for its final episodes — but two more spinoffs of the Paramount Network hit are in the offing.
The second half of Yellowstone’s fifth season, which will close the book on the current Dutton family saga, is set to premiere in November 2024. The final episodes had been slated for late this year, but the writers and actors strikes meant an end to production.
The two spinoffs in the works are a present-day story with the working title of 2024 and another prequel, 1944, that will follow in the footsteps of 1883 and 1923. As with the previous series, the two spinoffs will be produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios.
“Within five years, we grew Yellowstone from a hit U.S. cable show with 5 million viewers into a global hit franchise with over 100 million fans around the world and multiple extensions — and we’re just getting started,...

It was announced in May that Taylor Sheridan’s megahit Paramount Network series “Yellowstone” would be ending with its fifth season. Paramount had announced prior to that the fifth season would be split into two parts. The first eight episodes aired from November 2022-January 2023. Are Stephanie and Chad over?
Our TV Fanatics, Jack and Christine, are joined by Horizon from My Hourglass, a Days of Our Lives fan forum, to discuss Chad and Steph's honest conversation, Sarah and Xander's custody dispute, if Gabi and Stefan have hit a new low, and more!
And are you looking forward to another wacky Halloween episode in Salem? Check out what our round table team had to say.
After realizing they aren't on the same page about marriage, should Stephanie break up with Chad?
Horizon: Absolutely. I believe, after their invigorating and very revealing conversation, it is quite clear Chad's feelings for Stephanie are fogged up with his emotional ties to his departed wife.
And he has not been very sensitive to Stephanie's feelings. Pointedly, when he went on about Abigail after Steph went through all the trouble to look grand in her Halloween costume, to me,...

Hollywood moviemaking has always been a numbers game, and right now the winning number appears to be two.
Zack Snyder is locking picture on part one of December’s Rebel Moon, his two-part space opera for Netflix. Christopher McQuarrie, the filmmaker behind Paramount and Skydance’s Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning, Part One, retreated to a house in the northeast in recent months to edit what he’s shot so far of his follow-up. And once the SAG-AFTRA strike ends, Wicked filmmaker Jon M. Chu has just a few days left of principal photography on the first of his two Broadway adaptations. Then there’s Dune: Part Two (delayed by the strike until March), a sequel to Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (no release date in sight) and Kevin Costner’s two-part western Horizon, hitting theaters six weeks apart next summer.
These two-parters can serve both art and commerce, say those who work on them.
