USA Video Interactive (USVO) unveiled its latest content-protection software at the American Film Market, using actual digital movie trailers during its demonstration. MediaSentinel Version 1.1, a suite of software based on USVO's video watermarking technology, will be released commercially in April. Trailers for FilmMates Corp.'s American Reunion and First Look Media's Cybermutt, upcoming releases that are being promoted at AFM, were used to show how the product works in the real world. USVO president Edwin Molina said Friday the watermarks are invisible to the naked eye. MediaSentinel includes a watermark generator that embeds identifying information, a watermark reader and a software development kit that allows its technology to be integrated with other software and hardware systems.
