The World Wrestling Federation (WWF) is at Winnipeg Arena in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada in front of a crowd of 10,339 on October 22, 1995.
Match 1: Hunter Hearst Helmsley defeated Fatu - Singles match (8:06) - An alright opener it's fun to see a very young Triple H with his "Connecticut Blueblood" gimmick. Both men get a good deal of offense. Henry Godwin shows up with a bucket of slop and chases Helmsley out of the arena. **1/2 out of 5
Match 2: The Smoking Gunns (Billy and Bart) (c) defeated the 1-2-3 Kid and Razor Ramon - Tag team match for the WWF Tag Team Championship (12:46) - This match usually gets credit for being the best on the card and it's a pretty good showcase of a young X-pac (here as 1-2-3 Kid) and Billy Gunn in his Smoking Gunn days. The finish is unique and clever too. *** out of 5
Match 3: Goldust defeated Marty Jannetty - Singles match (11:15) - The debut of Goldust one of the most polarizing and interesting characters the WWE ever invented. Sadly, it's to Marty Jannetty who was just returning for a second time to the company. For a debut of a new character Jannetty surprisingly gets a lot of offense in a match that goes way to long. *1/2 out of 5
Match 4: King Mabel (with Sir Mo) vs. Yokozuna (with Mr. Fuji and Jim Cornette) ended in a double count out - Singles match (5:12) - Jim Ross opens the match by saying "where probably not going to see many fishermen's carry's or waste locks". This is the kind of big man showcase you know Vince was creaming his pants for. Let's just say if you thought it looked bad on paper it's worse after watching it. 1/2* out of 5
Match 5: Razor Ramon defeated Dean Douglas (c) - Singles match for the WWF Intercontinental Championship (11:01) - Shawn Michaels was forced to relinquish the Intercontinental title after getting his butt kicked by a marine the day prior. For some reason it's automatically given to Douglas who then must face and lose to Razor Ramon in his second showing of the night in a match he barely gets any offense in. Throw in the world's stupidest ending and I can see why it annoyed Douglas, who was towards the end of his ill-fated second stint with the company. I'd loved to have seen Douglas return a couple of years later with his "Franchise" gimmick in the Attitude era even though he and Vince hated each other. * out of 5
Match 6: The British Bulldog defeated Diesel (c) by disqualification - Singles match for the WWF Championship (18:14) - The famously bad main event that was so horrible it set Vince off at ringside. Most of the match is just boring as Nash lays in the ring while Davey works his knees. Nobody would ever mistake Nash for a technical wrestler, but this was bad even for him. * out of 5
This usually makes peoples top ten worst WWF PPVs list as it is just a crap show it starts out with two good matches and just nose dives from there. It's everything wrong with WWF in 1995 right in your face and the reason why Vince would drastically lose ground to WCW the following two years.
