Court TV, ACLU pact to offer 'Freedom'
Court TV has partnered with the American Civil Liberties Union for a 10-part series exploring the "pressing issues that threaten the civil liberties of all Americans." The ACLU Freedom Files, created by filmmaker Robert Greenwald's Brave New Films and directed and produced by Jeremy Kagan, will feature real clients and their attorneys along with actors, activists and comedians, including Margaret Cho, Wendie Malick and Harry Shearer. The half-hour show will premiere in January and air in Court TV's In Pursuit of Justice time slot at noon Saturdays. The first episode will focus on religious freedom, with other topics including the Patriot Act, free speech and dissent, gay and lesbian rights and racial profiling. The show, which actually premiered on the channel Link TV, also will air on the college network Zilo TV.
