One week after taking the biggest stage on television as the Super Bowl Li halftime show headliner and announcing a worldwide tour, Gaga joined the iconic metal band to perform at Los Angeles’ Staples Center for a set that was riddled with microphone malfunctions for the Metallica lead singer.

The New England Patriots may have pulled off the biggest comeback in Super Bowl history, but Lady Gaga‘s jump into her halftime performance had everyone — sports fan or not — talking. However, it turns out the songstress’ leap into Nrg Stadium was simply a masterful illusion.

However, the millions watching on television were fooled when the performer seemed to leap into...

“The Best Is Yet to Come” for Tony Bennett, who at 90 years old is showing no signs of slowing down.
“There’s still a lot I’d like to do,” the iconic crooner tells People.
The past two years, Bennett has won the Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album trophy at the Grammys, this year for Cheek to Cheek, his collection of jazz duets with longtime pal Lady Gaga — and he insists there’s more classics where that came from.
“I’d love to do a second album with Lady Gaga,” he says. “She was performing at a benefit the first time I met her.

Chicago – Bringing the musical movie genre back requires a bit of nostalgia, a nod to modernity and always old fashioned star power. Writer/director Damien Chazelle (“Whiplash”) combined all three to produce “La La Land,” with Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling as star-crossed lovers. Rosemarie DeWitt also has a featured role.
Set in the mythical land of Los Angeles, the story features actress Mia (Emma Stone) and jazz pianist Sebastian (Ryan Gosling) as artists who are trying to reach their own peaks in their respective professions. The tale feeds off the time-honored musical tradition of lovers trying to connect, often through song and dance, and the film embraces its soaring music and touchingly romantic choreography.

J.D. Souther John David Souther Black Rose Home by Dawn (Omnivore) J.D. Souther's songs are better known as sung by other people, which is good for his bank account but puzzling if you've heard his fine LPs. I wouldn't be surprised if more people nowadays know of him from his acting on the TV series Nashville than from his career in music. If there's any justice, these three reissues will redress that imbalance.

After the smashing success of President Obama's summer sex playlist, the White House is releasing not one, but two dueling holiday playlists — one from the Obamas and the other from the Bidens. Which to choose? It's a battle between rock and soul. The Bidens go with a lot of classic rock, kicking off their playlist with Bruce Springsteen's "Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town" (the Boss also sings "Merry Christmas Baby") and closing out with Paul McCartney's "Wonderful Christmastime." There's some more contemporary stuff in there like Coldplay's "A Sky Full of Stars" and Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett's "Cheek to Cheek," but this is the playlist you might hear at your aunt's Christmas party. The Obama playlist is, let's say, for more intimate times. "I've never been more successful than I am now," Tony Bennett says with wonderment, sitting in his art studio overlooking Central Park. The 89-year-old crooner is here to talk about his new album, The Silver Lining: The Songs of Jerome Kern, a covers collection dedicated to the early 20th-century composer who wrote such classics as "The Way You Look Tonight," "All the Things You Are," and "I'm Old Fashioned." It's Bennett's 45th LP to chart on the Billboard 200, following last year's Cheek to Cheek, his No. 1 duet album with Lady Gaga. Perched on a couch surrounded by his paintings, Bennett discussed the Great American Songbook, memories of Amy Winehouse and Ella Fitzgerald, why he's not a fan of Goodfellas, and what he and Gaga have in store for their next album. To start off, when were you first introduced to the songs of Jerome Kern? This piece originally ran in July. We are republishing it in advance of the American Horror Story: Hotel premiere tonight. It’s late June at Radio City Music Hall, and Lady Gaga is playing a joke on Tony Bennett, or maybe — it’s always a little hard to tell with her — Lady Gaga is playing a joke on us. This is the third of four nights that the unlikely-yet-somehow-inevitable May-December pair have sold out and the latest stop on their “Cheek to Cheek” tour, which runs into early August and follows their chart-topping 2014 album of jazz standards. Gaga has just finished an explosive, gusty, and gloriously butch rendition of the old Cher hit “Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down).” Her look: ruby-red stilettos, punky print T-shirt, well-tailored jacket and pants. It’s her first official showstopper of the night. Showcasing her growly lower register, her version of the song...

Lady Gaga's appearance in the trailer for American Horror Story: Hotel is brief, but she is clearly the star of the latest season of Ryan Murphy's campy horror series.
The new clip, titled "Hallways," gives a glimpse at the ghoulish, dangerous residents of the hotel. The show's stars, including Chloe Sevigny, Matt Bomer, Angela Bassett and Sarah Paulson, are seen roaming the corridors amongst numerous Omen-esque children, mattresses with people sewn in them and blenders filled with blood. The 30-second trailer leads up to a ghostly Gaga in a dramatic wedding dress.

Let's just face it: the past couple of years have been a bumpy ride for Lady Gaga fans. And then the tide changed late last year. Cheek to Cheek, her duets album with Tony Bennett, became a hit; her and Tony's Grammys performance was on point; and we loved her rousing rendition of "I Wish" at Stevie Wonder's Grammys tribute show. On the personal front, we were thrilled when we learned about her romantic engagement to Taylor Kinney. As if the lead up to her next solo album couldn't get better, she killed it at Sunday's Oscars, belting out the most moving performances of classics from The Sound of Music since, well, the movie came out in 1965. She felt it as much as we did, eventually breaking out in happy tears. But a lot happened off stage for Lady Gaga, too. Read on to see her big night at the Oscars,...

For the 50th anniversary of The Sound of Music, Lady Gaga belted out a gorgeous medley of songs from the film at the 2015 Oscars. Clad in white and accompanied by a string section, Gaga sang four tracks from the film and musical's soundtrack — "The Sound of Music," "My Favorite Things," "Edelweiss" and "Climb Ev'ry Mountain."

Apparently, John Mayer is a proud little monster. The 37-year-old musician took to Twitter on Thursday to praise Lady Gaga for her latest album Cheek to Cheek—the pop star's collaboration with Tony Bennett that just landed the musical BFFs a Grammy for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album. Mayer began his lengthy Twitter admission by saying he has "huge respect" for the "Bad Romance" beauty before praising the 28-year-old artist for releasing an album she believed in—instead a generic pop record simply to please the masses. Cheek to Cheek was released on September 19, 2014 and sold 131,000 copies in its first week, becoming Gaga's third consecutive...

Holy crap, the GRAMMYs were long. And not because the acceptance speeches were long -- each winner was given approximately five seconds to thank everyone. So in case you don’t have three and a half hours to marathon 22 performances (23, if you count LL Cool J’s weird performance of “Going Back to Cali” at the top of the show) we ranked them for you.

The 28-year-old singer and the 88-year-old legend teamed up to sing their duet "Cheek to Cheek" during Sunday night's big awards show. She paired her sparkly dress with a gigantic diamond necklace and Jessica Rabbit-inspired waves in her white hair. After starting the number off with her powerhouse vocals, Gaga danced up on Bennett as they did their adorable duet in front of a piano and band.
