Duke Nukem 3D might be getting a re-release soon as clues are slowly building.
Earlier this morning I noticed the social feeds and PR channels for Duke Nukem were rebooting. A post had hit the official Duke Nukem Facebook page alerting people to follow their twitter page. The last post this page made was back in 2012.
The Twitter page has been active ever since, and even triggered a political debate of "right and wrong" on other pages already.
Finally the official site updated to a teaser site, but some might have trouble accessing it. The age gate seems to be entirely broken and blocking you from viewing the content, or perhaps it wasn't supposed to be released yet. Those that can get in can see a count down timer that expires this friday at 5Pm P.T. (Gearbox is hosting a Pax West panel at that time, which is when...

Demi Lovato's social media feeds have gone "Stone Cold." The singer penned a series of tweets Monday announcing that she will no longer be using Twitter or Instagram - although she will continue to use Snapchat because, unlike most other social media platforms, there is no space for negative comments on the photo-sharing app. "Damn I gotta quit sayin s---. Bye Twitter," Lovato tweeted Monday afternoon, adding, "And insta." The 23-year-old continued: "I like snapchat cause I don't have to see what some of y'all say. Follow me if you want: theddlovato." A simple video posted on the EA Sports Ncaa Football Facebook page sent ripples of hope for a new Ncaa Football game through millions of people. Only to find out that hope was false...or is it? Let's discuss.
Our heart still beats for the big game... #NationalChampionship
Posted by EA Sports Ncaa Football on Monday, 11 January 2016 It didn't take long for gamers to connect the dots that EA Sports was making a new Ncaa Football game. The internet was brimming with hope for a new Ncaa Football game! It seemed like this was going to be the biggest gaming news to start out the new year. The 2 year drought was over! Until EA Sports revealed it was merely a video honoring tonight's National Championship game between 2 Alabama and 1 Clemson. EA stated to us via email, "We have no new plans or announcements to make regarding the EA Sports Ncaa Football series.

BBC One has revealed a slate of new drama projects in the works or set to air in the UK later this Fall alongside new episodes of returning favorites like "Doctor Who," "Luther" and "Sherlock".
First up there's the epic event series "Troy – Fall Of A City," a multi-part drama which will be set against the backdrop of the war between Greece and Troy and focuses on the collapse of one family. This explores the origins of the saga and offers a Trojan point of view to events.
Next comes an adaptation of Jk Rowling's secretly-penned post-'Harry Potter' series of detective novels "The Cormoran Strike Mysteries". The contemporary series will focus on a war veteran turned private detective.
A new telemovie adaptation of E.R. Braithwaite's 1959 novel "To Sir With Love" is on the way which will be set in the East End following WW2 and follows...

A popular casting director workshop run by David Murphy abruptly closed this week, leaving actors fretting over refunds for prepaid classes. The Bridge, which dubs itself “the Los Angeles area's premier new casting director workshop,” had events scheduled as recently as Monday. But the event was canceled at the last minute and students were informed by email late that night that the school had closed permanently. Murphy promised to issue refunds to students. “After several years of operation, we've unfortunately decided that we need to close our doors,” Murphy said in the email. “As such, our August workshops were our last. To receive a refund for your remaining credit (only credit you've paid for—credits received as referral or other bonuses will not be refunded), please email.” The workshop had been a moveable feast before settling into its most recent Burbank location in April. It received high marks on Yelp...

And we finally have a date!! It's been a long journey for this film; I feel like we've been talking about it for Years now! The last post? Almost 2 months ago, when it was announced that Image Entertainment had acquired all USA rights to Winnie, the Winnie Mandela biopic starring Jennifer Hudson and Terrence Howard. One Village Entertainment and Image Entertainment (brands of Robert Johnson's Rlj Entertainment), have announced this afternoon that the film, now titled Winnie Mandela (as opposed to just Winnie previously), in USA theaters, on September 6, this fall - Bill Bromiley, Chief Acquisitions Officer for Image Entertainment,...

It's been a long journey for this film; I feel like we've been talking about it for years. The last post? Last spring (2012), when it was announced that T.D. Jakes and his company Tdj Enterprises/Film Bridge International had jumped on board to executive produce and develop a Stateside marketing and distribution strategy for the film. No news since then - nothing that we've been privy to anyway. Announced this morning, Image Entertainment has acquired all USA rights to Winnie, the Winnie Mandela biopic starring Jennifer Hudson and Terrence Howard. Image will release the film in USA theaters this fall. Our readers in Canada would've already seen the film,...

(Warning: Significant spoilers follow!)
So here we have one of those rare Companion Chronicle stories with more than two actors, and while, as is frequently the case, only one of the actors has actually been on the TV series, in this case that actor is Sylvester McCoy, playing the Seventh Doctor. Yes, for only the third time in seven seasons, we have one of the Doctors actually acting alongside the companions. It’s a good thing.
Now this story ties in extensively with the recent “And Trilogy” monthly releases (“Protect and Survive”, “Black and White”, “Gods and Monsters). It features Sally Morgan (Amy Pemberton) and Lysandra Aristedes (Maggie O’Neill), narrating a story about their time with the Doctor, before they met up with Ace and Hex.
In said story, they attempt to infiltrate a train under the control of the Forge; a train which is...

All's been quiet on the Total Recall front as of late. The last post we put up [1] regarding the Len Wiseman-directed reboot starring Colin Farrell, Kate Beckinsale, Jessica Biel, Bryan Cranston and John Cho, was a few set videos of hover crafts from the film. That was September. Now it's January, the film is eight months away and Sony has released an official plot synopsis. Though we knew many of these details - i.e. There's no Mars - it's still pretty revealing. Here's the official plot synopsis for Len Wiseman's Total Recall, out August 3. "Total Recall" is an action thriller about reality and memory, inspired anew by the famous short story “We Can Remember It For You Wholesale” by Philip K. Dick. Welcome to Rekall, the company that can turn your dreams into real memories. For a factory worker named Douglas Quaid (Colin Farrell), even though he's...

As the editor of this column it is my job to choose the contributors, shape the voice, and move the column in a forward direction. The last post really struck up a good conversation, and it is now clear that my decision to move the blog in a new direction would be a welcome change. This does not mean, however, that we will stop talking with micro-budget filmmakers on timely topics and take the time to check in on their latest projects. Despite what some people feel, one of the functions of this column is to help contributing filmmakers get the word out about their latest endeavors, fundraising, and upcoming releases. This is not a thinly veiled attempt at advertising — this is just good form. I will be working hard to add new voices like genre, documentary, and perspectives of industry professionals, as well as more diary entries from filmmakers...

And who could blame him? An incredibly smart, talented, and sexy chick who's big time into horror movies? Talk about the catch of the day! Speaking of which, we have the first look at Axelle's latest short film starring the big man himself, R.A. Mihailoff, entitled Hooked for ya!
With a tagline of "There's Always a Bigger Fish", Hooked will be available online beginning this Thursday, September 8th. The flick stars Mihailoff along with the lovely Clare Grant. Will Barratt (Hatchet, Frozen) handled director of photography duties, and Joe Bishara (Insidious) doled out the tunes.
"It's a very silly, very brief little twist on the slasher genre," says Carolyn. "We shot it in a few hours on a beach in La just before 4th of July. I just wanted to make something very different from my previous short, The Last Post (review here), which was sad and emotional."
Check out the first stills below,...

The last post I had about the Paranormal Activity sequel really scared the bodily functions out of me. Now another trailer has arrived and it certainly might evacuate a drop of wee. There’s a particular scene in the trailer with a baby that’s freaky as hell. The original movie was great, but was it a one trick pony? Can lighting strike twice? Who knows, as we’ll have to wait until the end of October to find out. Anyway, if your feeling brave, hit the play button!
