- Klaus Schober: Hello? Guys?
- [No answer. He rattles the gate]
- Klaus Schober: Hey, is no one doing anything?
- [Still no answer]
- Klaus Schober: There must be someone.
- [He muses on the situation. Then he climbs on top of the gate and calls out to his colleagues. He jumps down and brushes the dust off his hands]
- Klaus Schober: Damn it.
- [He goes into an office and looks around]
- Klaus Schober: All gone.
- [He goes to the entrance. Before he can touch the doorknob an elderly man, Walter Fritsche, abruptly bursts out the entrance, hitting Klaus in the face with the door]
- Klaus Schober: I'm so lonely, you know.
- Leutnant Vera Arndt: Don't you have any friends?
- Klaus Schober: As you can see, I don't have any friends.
- Leutnant Vera Arndt: But...
- Klaus Schober: No, no. Don't say it.
- [Walter sees Klaus standing in the courtyard with a bloody nose, which was caused by Walter accidentally hitting him in the face with the door]
- Walter Fritsche: Who are you?
- Klaus Schober: Walter!
- Walter Fritsche: Oh, you... How did you get in here?
- Klaus Schober: I'm bleeding.
- [a pause, then Walter realizes Klaus is a potential witness of a crime scene]
- Walter Fritsche: Go away!
- Klaus Schober: But why?
- Walter Fritsche: Go away! Please do me a favor.
- [Klaus sadly turns away, putting his hand to his bleeding nose. Walter has another thought]
- Walter Fritsche: Wait. What do you want at this time?
- Klaus Schober: I was looking for a place to sleep.
