Jonathan Jackson is making his long-awaited return as Lucky Spencer on “General Hospital,” Deadline‘s Lynette Rice reported.
According to the outlet, Jackson will be back in Port Charles as his Daytime Emmy Award-winning character “later this summer in what is expected to be a long run.” This also marks the first time Jackson will have been back on the show since making a brief appearance in 2015.
The news of Jackson’s return to the show coincides with executive producer Frank Valentini letting it slip earlier this month that a former male cast member would return and that fans would “go crazy for him.”
Look for Jackson to begin taping later this summer at “General Hospital” with his first airdate set for early fall. Storyline details remain under wraps, but fans should expect a reunion of sorts between Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) and Lucky as they deal with what’s happening in their children’s lives,...

Brian De Palma's "Carrie" was the film that defined a generation. Its blend of coming-of-age themes, fantastical magic, and slasher-style bloodshed makes it a genre-bending film that time just can't seem to forget.
The 1976 horror tells the story of a sheltered girl who lives under her obsessively religious mother's tyrannical rule, a dictatorship made all the worse by the onset of Carrie's period. Her mother's frenzy combined with a cruel prank at the prom pushes the shy young girl to a mental break, complete with telekinetic powers. The Stephen King adaptation launched some incredibly notable careers, including John Travolta, who plays high school bully Billy Nolan. Sadly, not all of the cast has lived to see the end of 2023, including Piper Laurie, whose performance as Carrie's mother earned her one of three Oscar nominations in her lifetime.

Covid has caused a lot of uncertainty around Broadway. Several shows have had to suspend performances, go on hiatus, or close permanently. And the American Theatre Wing hasn’t announced key dates for this year’s Tony Awards yet. Though with that being said, we are now about halfway through the Broadway season, and there are six productions of musicals set to open this spring. Could we see any of them contend at the next Tonys? Below is a look at the plot of each musical as well as the awards history of their authors, casts, and directors, plus the opening and (where applicable) closing dates.

I don’t think I can fully convey the contempt that swept through this newsroom when Disney announced one of its launch shows for Disney+ was going to be “High School Musical: The Musical – The Series.”
First off: the title. The Cms for this website has a headline character limit, y’know? And that title takes up about 85 percent of it. A colon and a dash? Stop it. Second: Oh my God, another spin on “High School Musical?” Humanity really isn’t going to top Zac Efron pirouetting around a golf course in “High School Musical 2.” Third: end-stage capitalism. Are there no new ideas in this world? Disney now owns everything and now they’re re-franchising another franchise? Help. Fourth: the hashtag — which is, for the record, #Hsmtmts.
So imagine my delighted surprise when at 10:16 in the first episode — yes, I wrote the timestamp down — high school fashion queen...

Imagine a vampire story where the undead are really nice people and would never think to bite anyone. That pretty much sums up the suspense and excitement delivered by the new musical “Tuck Everlasting,” which opened Tuesday at Broadway’s Broadhurst Theatre. If immortality is so awful here on earth, why do people pray for it before they die? Neither the musical nor its source material, Natalie Babbitt’s much-lauded children’s book, asks that question. The show’s first act, as written by Claudia Shear and Tim Federle, finds it necessary to ask all sorts of other less interesting questions.

The 2015-2016 Broadway season has produced a sizeable class of new musicals — among them Allegiance, Amazing Grace, American Psycho, Bright Star, Disaster!, On Your Feet!, School of Rock, Tuck Everlasting, and Waitress. In years past, a number of those shows might have made a legitimate bid to become Tony winners. But this year, they have the misfortune of coming up against the biggest phenomenon to strike the Great White Way in recent memory — a show that became the overwhelming Tony frontrunner the moment it premiered at the Public Theater last season and announced its intentions to head uptown to the Richard

If there were a Tony Award category for 'Best Dance Shoes', the most likely nominee and winner would be Broadway shoe designer Phil Laduca. This season alone his custom-made shoes are trotting the boards in a batch of new shows including Shuffle Along, Tuck Everlasting, She Loves Me, and the upcoming New York Spring Spectacular starring the Rockettes. His trendy dance shoes were also worn in the hit movie musical, Chicago, and in Katy Perry's acclaimed performance in last year's Super Bowl Xlix halftime show.

At its heart, storytelling is about immortalizing. The upcoming Broadway musical “Tuck Everlasting,” written by Claudia Shear and Tim Federle, with music and lyrics by Nathan Tysen and Chris Miller, addresses this literally. Beginning previews March 31, the show brings to life onstage Natalie Babbitt’s novel about an immortal family and the young girl who befriends them. In the intimate environment of the Black Box Theatre at Nyu Tisch School of the Arts—10 days before the show opens to its first audience—composers and graduates of Nyu Tisch’s musical theater writing program Miller and Tysen, and book writer Federle discussed the process of adapting a work of fiction as a musical. Additionally, they performed excerpts from the score and reflected on the tricky nature of the business. With youth-oriented Broadway adaptations such as “School of Rock the Musical” and “Fun Home” on the Great White Way, the balancing act...
