Nicholas Campbell: Ross Fleming

Quotes

  • Ross Fleming : So, what was in your mind then when you went down there, I'm curious to know. What were you thinking? You were gonna check up on me?

    Paige Fleming : Doesn't matter.

Ross Fleming : It's don't 'doesn't matter'. I'm asking you this one question, now I want you to answer me, do you see yourself now as my- my probation officer?

Paige Fleming : Do not yell, I'm not upset.

Ross Fleming : Well, I am upset.

Paige Fleming : It was my fault, okay? And, you slipped and I knew it, I, you knew I knew it. We ignored it.

[Ross goes to light a cigarette]

Ross Fleming : Okay, I slipped. Okay.

Paige Fleming : What else did we ignore?

Ross Fleming : Oh, okay, this is starting to make sense. What other lies did that little snot fill your head with?

Paige Fleming : It's not about...

Ross Fleming : What'd he say I provoked that attack yesterday? I deserved what I got the other time in the park?

    Paige Fleming : No!

Ross Fleming : I can't believe after all the things we've been through, you and me, you give up on me!

Paige Fleming : I didn't give up on you I just... want under...

Ross Fleming : Here's another free piece of advice for you too, okay? Next time you want a shoulder to cry on, you want some support, go find yourself something you don't think is a total fuck up!

    [Ross opens the door]

    Ross Fleming : All right?

    [Ross slams the door shut]

  • Trevor Fleming : [Stuttering]  I gotta ask ya, why, why did ya bring three pairs of shoes hey Dad?

Ross Fleming : Calling a payoff again.

Trevor Fleming : You bring me a bounty of footwear, I promise never to show my face again? That sorta thing?

  • Ross Fleming : I would never put either of us in jeopardy ever again do you hear me?

  • Trevor Fleming : [Stuttering]  You want me to-to put my pictures away and not-not mention Mom or Paige's presence, is that what you want me to do?

Ross Fleming : [Yelling]  I want you to have consideration for your sister!

  • Ross Fleming : Oh Jesus Christ, look at this. Pathetic, you look really awful. It's quite the binder was it? Well come, on

[he motions for Paige to sit down]

Ross Fleming : You feeling sick?

Paige Fleming : Yeah, I might be.

Ross Fleming : Well sit down.

Paige Fleming : [Slurring her words]  Yeah, very sick.

Ross Fleming : This is um... it's for you.

[Ross taps on a birthday gift]

Paige Fleming : What is it?

Ross Fleming : Open it. From your old man.

[Paige opens the gift revealing a Heroin needle-like pen with ink]

Ross Fleming : It's a pen. I thought it's be nice for your stories, do you like it?

    [Paige doesn't say anything]

Ross Fleming : Don't like it. okay; so, I'm real late. It's real busy down there too. Tell me what I do, do I call the school? Paige? What should I do?

Paige Fleming : Late for what?

    Ross Fleming : What?

Paige Fleming : Don't have to.

Ross Fleming : I don't have to what?

    [Ross looks at her]

Ross Fleming : You know what? You'd better stay home, you look God-awful.

  • Paige Fleming : Everything was not good, okay? We- just ignored it. He's right, we didn't do enough.

Ross Fleming : She was miserable. She- It didn't matter what we did. Or what we didn't do, the outcome would have still been the same. She was gonna do herself and she would have done herself. That's it.

Paige Fleming : How do we know that.

Ross Fleming : How do we know that? Since when are you taking his side?

Paige Fleming : This isn't about sides, Dad, Jesus!

Ross Fleming : Well, what's it about?

Paige Fleming : It's not about who's right. We're not going- we're not going to fix ourselves. We're just not, okay? We gotta come to grips with that.

Ross Fleming : Ah, come to grips with this.

    Paige Fleming : Yeah.

Ross Fleming : Face reality. Well here's a dose of reality for you okay? Here's your old man, take at look at me cause this is me. You know where I've been for the last twelve hours, drinking and having a good time. In my pocket I probably got a buck and a half, in the bank maybe double that. So it's clear we're gonna have to move. Because I don't got next month's rent, I know you don't have it, and it's clear we're not gonna get our damage deposit back thanks to your brother. So, take a good look. So, you gonna help me? You gonna help me get out of this hole?

    [to Trevor]

Ross Fleming : Are you happy?

    Trevor Fleming : It's a start.

Paige Fleming : Hey, listen, Budda, coming down from your little mountain retreat to show us the error of our ways okay, that you are not.

Ross Fleming : Listen to her.

Paige Fleming : You just take a good look at your clothing and what you just did to this room if you still feel the same you can come back and tell me that your fine, all right?

    Ross Fleming : Right.

Paige Fleming : Dad, you didn't make her become a drunk okay? She drank, all right, she killed herself. Okay?

    Ross Fleming : Okay.

Paige Fleming : I don't know why. I'm probably never going to know why, all right? But we just have to admit, that we- that we did not do enough for her, okay?
