The biggest no-brainer question in the world is probably: “Who is the strongest Dragon Ball character?” In fact, some otakus might even hunt you down if the answer is anything but Goku. Yet, what if I said that Akira Toriyama himself planned to usurp Goku’s power within Dragon Ball with none other than his own son?
Yes, the person in question is Gohan, the son of Goku and Chi Chi who has achieved many feats of strength in the Dragon Ball franchise. While he is a well-known character, Goku and Vegeta still reign supreme over hearts. But the power equation might topple once Gohan grows older.

Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball Z is still as popular as the day it was aired for the first time. The show is often seen as one of the most popular Shonen series and is primarily responsible for making anime so popular back in the day. Toriyama’s series features Kakarot as its protagonist, and a majority of Dbz is driven by him and the Z Fighters training themselves and getting stronger to stop the lifeforms that pose threats to planet Earth.

Toriyama-Sensei has decided to keep the story more Goku-centric, where he is given more iconic moments such as him turning Ssj 1 for the first time during his climactic battle with Frieza on Planet Namek. Despite giving so many iconic moments to Kakarot, the mangaka has also given him the most useless Saiyan transformation, which was hated ardently by the editors.

Through the Dragon Ball franchise, Akira Toriyama achieved an iconic status.
Not only the protagonists but the antagonists’ are also quite powerful and often give heroes a run for their money. But there is a certain villain that even the mangaka found unsettling. His cruelty and strength were on another level, and Toriyama sensei had to break his rule for the villain. The character in question is none other than the tyrannical ruler Frieza.

Kohei Horikoshi sensei has done the magnificent by creating a masterpiece series like My Hero Academia from a figment of his imagination. But while fans love the story and feel they can relate deeply to both the story and the mangaka, what they don’t realize is that the mangaka’s personal choices are far different than theirs when it comes to his favorite characters from the saga.

As it turns out, everyone’s favorite character from the Mha storyline ‘All Might’ is not quite the favorite character of the mangaka as well, even though it was Horikoshi sensei himself who created him. In fact, the mangaka prefers one other, more “rude” character over this fan-favorite one! Yet, as surprising as it may be, the true reasoning behind his choice isn’t so non-understandable either.

The Dragon Ball franchise has not only left a huge impact on generations of children, teens and young adults, but also on the manga industry. So, after the original Dragon Ball manga concluded in 1995, a huge vacuum was created in its place.
While many wanted to take advantage of it and further their own manga, very few could actually survive in the market. The same is true for Eiichiro Oda, the creator of One Piece. In an interview with Weekly Shonen Jump, the mangaka opened up about the intense competition that occurred in the aftermath of Dragon Ball‘s conclusion.

Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is set for a last-quarter release in 2024. While there is still quite some time for the game to drop, fans are already deep in discussions regarding what to expect from the latest installment of Budokai Tenkaichi.
Featuring fierce rivals Goku and Vegeta, the initial trailers and leaks had fans eagerly waiting in anticipation for the game to launch. However, one small detail has been potentially glossed over by most fans. And this tiny detail can potentially cause massive grief to players in the PvP mode.

TV Asahi is one of Japan’s best-known television channels, and anime fans will know it as well for its contribution to the anime market, which includes Crayon Shin-chan, Doraemon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Blue Lock, Boys Over Flowers, Slam Dunk, Sailor Moon and numerous Gundam titles. Masashi Kishimoto has always been a master at what he does, hence being regarded as one of the most skilled and talented mangaka of the shonen genre. His storytelling abilities coincide with the extraordinary character designs and sketches, contributing to what makes Naruto such a well-liked series.

Be it the movies, anime, or manga, it stands in the big three for a season no one can turn a blind eye to. Such a case also justifies the fact as to why a live-action movie would work towards increasing an already massive fan following. However, it took years of practice to perfect such a piece of art.

Akira Toriyama’s journey started as a mangaka rather unconventionally, but going with the flow helped him create one of the greatest shonen series in history. Having taken inspiration from the best, he managed to create his magnum opus. What once was just a one-shot story soon became an epic tale of great battles and even greater power scaling.
Goku
Toriyama contributed his very best for the series and thus became a legend forever to be remembered. His work became an inspiration throughout countries. A lot of it came because of the unique character designs that incorporated the ideas of what an action manga like Dragon Ball signified. However, the author was keen on changing one factor.

Akira Toriyama has created Super Saiyan versions in every color of the rainbow and more. So, of course, there are transformations serving all kinds of purposes, be it speed, strength, or fusion in Dragon Ball.
With so many Super Saiyan versions available, it is only natural that some of them would follow trends set by other superheroes. This time, the comparison is between Super Saiyan Rage and Marvel’s Hulk.

It’s the question for every anime enthusiast who is recommending a series, or an exploratory watcher curious to dive into the world of anime for the first time. However, there’s no clear answer. While anime is thankfully more accessible than it’s ever been, there are so many characters, plots, genres and themes that you might feel overwhelmed at first glance. You may turn to friends to hopefully nudge you in the right direction, but you can get thirty conflicting answers from thirty different people. The idea of what’s the perfect starter anime has been hotly debated online. In an interview with Michael B. When we talk about one of the most significant things about Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball franchise, Super Saiyan Jin or Super Saiyan is the first thing that comes to our mind. It was thrilling to witness Goku transform into the legendary transformation for the very first time on Planet Namek when he battled Frieza to decide the faith of the dictator. From there, Toriyama-Sensei decided to start a trend by featuring Ssj 2, SSJ3, SSJ4, Ssj Blue, and Ssj God.
Vegeta Ssj transformation
There are dozens of transformations featured in different series, including Goku’s mastered Ultra Instinct and Vegeta’s Ultra Ego transformations. However, there is one Super Saiyan transformation that can never be achieved by Kakarot and The Prince of All Saiyans. This is not a hoax as even training for millions of years in the hyperbolic time chamber with Whis or Grand Priest can’t help them achieve it.

Jrpg fans are a starving lot, stuck in an era of replaying their golden oldies and praying the latest indie game on Steam at least partially sticks the landing. The main character of Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball, Goku, has gone through multiple power-ups over the years, but the most interesting one among them was the fusion technique. It allowed Goku to fuse with his supporting character, Vegeta, who is also a powerful Saiyan, giving them a combination of their overall abilities and strengths.
Fusion Dance
Goku and Vegeta can perform two types of fusion, which result in two different beings with extraordinary strength. The first one is Vegito, and the second one is Gogeta. While Vegito made an appearance during the fight against Super Buu, Gogeta was a non-canonical character for a long time, but ultimately he was introduced in Dragon Ball Super: Broly.
One of Toriyama’s interviews was published in Dragon Ball Daizenshuu 6: Movies & TV Specials, where he talked about the introduction of fusion in the series and how it started as a joke but...

Akira Toriyama’s magnum opus, Dragon Ball, has been entertaining fans for over 40 years. Over time, the series developed into a narrative that has been distributed into different sequels and spin-offs like Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball Super, and the latest addition to the franchise, the upcoming Dragon Ball Daima.
Goku and Vegeta in Dragon Ball
However, the death of Toriyama has left a big question for Dragon Ball fans. The question is whether or not the series will continue after the death of its creator. Dragon Ball Super was midway into its story when Toriyama passed away and the manga since then has been on an indefinite hiatus.
But this is not the only problem for Dragon Ball fans. The Dragon Ball series has been going on for so long, and along the way, it has introduced a number of great storylines and characters, but it has also left...

The legendary late Mangaka Akira Toriyama sensei may have given birth to one of the most tremendous phenomena in the manga and anime industry, i.e. the Dragon Ball universe, but even he couldn’t help but agree with one criticism about it. This criticism was on none other than the ultimate “perfect warrior” creation of Dr. Gero in the saga, Cell.

To be more precise, this critical complaint and objection was not on the character, but rather, on one of his forms that fans somewhat grew to hate. And surprisingly enough, even Toriyama sensei once admitted how much he himself disliked and found to be uncool this very iteration of the main antagonist of the overarching Cell Saga in the Db universe!

Goku and Vegeta are the two greatest rivals not only in Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball show but also in anime history. Their competition goes through many sagas in the story starting from when Vegeta first arrived during Dragon Ball Z.
As time passed, Goku and Vegeta turned from enemies to training partners. Eventually, they formed a bond that resembled brothers. But still, in their journey, Goku and Vegeta fought many times against one another.
Goku and Vegeta in Dragon Ball
Their initial meeting occurred when Vegeta, the Saiyan Prince, visited Earth with the intention of annihilating it and later selling its fragments for money. Goku’s desire to prevent such a catastrophe prompted him into direct confrontation with Vegeta.

The Dragon Ball saga has left fans mesmerized to the core through the original manga created by Akira Toriyama sensei and the anime adaptations that followed. However, despite being such a massive fan-favorite that almost everyone loves, the story failed to deliver perfectly in its first and last Hollywood live-action adaptation to date from 2009, which starred Justin Chatwin in the lead.
Dragonball Evolution (2009).
In fact, one of the most hated and criticized elements of the Dragonball Evolution film was the fact that Chatwin was chosen to play Son Goku, whose performance also didn’t sit well with fans. But that wasn’t the worst part, for from the plot elements to the superpowers to the way the animated characters were brought to life, Db fans were met with the worst nightmare of their imagination.

Action shonen anime dominates the medium, for better and worse. Every big franchise eventually gets an original movie — or a dozen. "One Piece" has 15, "Dragon Ball" 24, and "Naruto" has 11.
The problem is that these mostly tend to be non canonical movies without much consequence. They are cute, fun adventures, for sure. Still, they are more concerned with providing fan service than providing substance. The best ones are those that manage to make the most out of their non canonical status and present truly experimental movies, like the best of the "One Piece" films.
Now comes "Spy x Family: Code White," a movie based on one of the most popular manga, published in Shonen Jump magazine — which makes this technically a shonen anime movie, regardless of its actual genre. The premise is simple. Loid is a spy, Yor is an assassin, and together they fake a family for convenience (and for...

Created by Akira Toriyama, The Dragon Ball manga and anime series has overarched in its popularity, thanks to its well-written characters, gripping storylines, and a long list of antagonists that keeps the series interesting. Yet, Akira Toriyama admits to never actually wanting to debut the Super Saiyan mode. For him, it was the last door to knock on.
