what it means to be honest and moral
This extremely high quality and deservedly award-winning documentary gets to the human heart of what it means to be honest and moral - whether you are gay or heterosexual. We see the real damage done by persistent closed-minded community attitudes, but we also see the huge amount of good that can be done by those with the guts to stand up and be counted as demanding equity for all. The Boy Scouts is shown in a very good light for its potential to bring out the best in youth and to instill a life long interest in enjoying nature and helping others.
It's the compassion and sincerity of the contributors which makes Scout's Honor so emotive and empowering. Young Steve Cozza also gives us many matter of fact insights to the OK-ness of being gay (all the more relevant because they're spoken by a self-confident heterosexual).
Luckily the Boy Scouts of Australia do not share the USA branch's fear of homosexuality - we hope that enough Americans are inspired and empowered by Scout's Honor to demand speedy inclusive reform at home.
