Fango got the scoop from director Sean Cain that Jason Mewes has joined the cast of his latest feature, Breath Of Hate (which we last reported on here). “His character is a gamer nerd who falls for a escort,” Cain says; that escort is the film’s heroine, who is terrorized by three homicidal asylum escapees on her last job.
“It’s through his love that he brings her back from being a walking suicide,” Cain continues. “Audiences know Jason as the foul-mouthed Jay in the Kevin Smith movies, but he’s got a sweet side that’s the perfect counterpoint to the darkness in our story.” Mewes’ Jay also made an appearance in Scream 3, and the actor’s genre credits additionally include R.S.V.P., Feast, The Tripper, Netherbeast Incorporated, Bitten and the upcoming Silent But Deadly.
