In opening scenes, Jason Lee's character Ray is plotting a robbery and tells two characters to use the names Steve and Carl. Jason Lee was also in Stealing Harvard in which his character and Tom Green's character were committing a robbery. Jason Lee's character used the name Steve and mistakenly said Tom Green's character's fake name was Carl instead of Kyle.
