I am surprised that this short film still exists after all these years. This sort of ephemeral short usually has just been allowed to disintegrate or got thrown away over the years. It's a very simple film whose purpose seems to be to convince the squares (i.e., parents and older folks) that the modern twist dance craze is nothing to worry about...and it's a lot of fun as well.
The film was made in a nightclub in Chicago--and what an odd nightclub it was--with a swimming pool and bikini babes right in the middle of the place! As a hip but forgotten band performs a rendition of "The Twist" that is reminiscent of a song by the Ventures, several dancers come forth to show off how to do the dance. In the end, all the seemingly square folks turn out to be hipsters, as they all get up and get into the craze.
Overall, an interesting time capsule whose music is infectious! I found myself twisting in my seat as it played--it was that enjoyable.
