This film, shot in three weeks (of November 1974) in Florence, South Carolina, was originally titled "Truckin' Man" and was shown under that title during the first six months of its theatrical release. The distributor thought a change to "Trucker's Woman" would increase the box office.
In 1975 this film was distributed as "Truckin' Man" on a double bill with Hot Summer in Barefoot County (1974).
In 2018, this movie was riffed by the comedians at Rifftrax.
