A very interesting political thriller

I love this kind of movie. It reminds me David Miller's EXECUTIVE ACTION. Cold, sharp, where nearly no emotion exists, this movie tells the story of a wife whose husband - an important business man - is implicated in a plot to kill the president of the USA. This wife - Tyrell - has a lover and the two are "blackmailed" by government agents - Neal - in order to help them to catch the plotters; the husbands and his rich friends who want to get rid if the "King" they consider a danger for democracy.

Neal is not the wonderful hero who saves the "King"; actually not really. He is shown as a machine who executes the orders. Saving he President, and at all costs. No matter the victims. Bitter ending in this feature.

Very effective and rare thriller, typically from the seventies.
