Overall this is a very smart and unique picture that isn't perfect but is worth a viewing
Holiday Heart (2000) is a movie I recently watched Tubi. The storyline follows a drag queen with his own tragic story that encounters a recovering crack addict and the addict's pre-teen daughter. The drag queen helps her with her circumstances, gives her a place to live and sets her up with a job. When the addict falls for a man similar to the ones from her troubled past, her new friend tries to keep her from causing her new life to spiral out of control.
This movie is directed by Robert Townsend (BAPS) and stars Ving Rhames (Pulp Fiction), Alfre Woodard (Annabelle), Mykelti Williamson (Forest Gump), Mary Antonini (A Christmas Mission), Blu Mankuma (Robocop) and Benz Antoine (Death Race).
Ving Rhames is absolutely awesome in this movie and delivers a unique and unreal performance. Woodard's performance was up and down but she delivers her character's evolution to perfection. The writing and script was also uneven with some scene and circumstances awkward and others outstanding, but the overall premise is good and worthwhile.
Overall this is a very smart and unique picture that isn't perfect but is worth a viewing. I would score this a 7.5/10 and recommend seeing it once.
