Great Cinematic Experience...not the best Gameplay
Frallon18 March 2009
Don't Be Fooled by all of this negativity, the game is quite enjoyable, despite the...okay...game play. The Storyline swept me away, amazingly enough it kept me intrigued, and i wanted to continue watching. The cut scenes were glorious, very well "shot", and the voice acting was beyond expectations.

Game wise idk what they were thinking The targeting system was very iffy, the fact that you could empty an entire clip into an alien, and see them not even recoil was an annoyance. Also the loading scenes took forever, and they were constantly popping up, the loading was the only real take away from the game.

I don't know if it recommended buying material, but its worth checking out, even though once you beat the game there's nothing really to do. lol I'm just waiting now for the sequel that'll never come

a definitely great game, however...

Warning: Spoilers
This game was awesome and I just played it this year in '08! still loving my PS2, eh?...Anyhow, the game is awesome, graphics were awesome, intensity was awesome, and most everything else, except for two things; one, there appears to be no sequel to this incredible game, and two, once it ends after closing credit and rocking tunes, it just takes you back to NEW GAME or LOAD GAME, without any results or opening up new weaponry or levels...that sucked, so it gets a 9 out of 10 from me. But if you can get past these two downfalls, as i did twice, its worth the time overall regardless...So stop listening to those hardcore gamers who think they know it all, and want it all, and try RUN LIKE HELL on for size for yourselves!

Heart-pounding

I myself thought that this game was heart-pounding. From the moment I picked up the controller I could not put it down. It's intense and heart-pounding with plenty of aliens to blast and also great music to listen to. I knew I found a special game when Breaking Benjamin started playing during the first boss fight. Ever since then I get excited when the music starts playing and know that I'm in for a fight. If you like run-n-gun shooters or sci-fi action, pick this game up immediately. The graphics aren't the best and the animation is a little jerky, but don't let that drive you away from a great game. Run Like Hell to your local game store and pick this one up immediately.

7 Days of the Unknown

In my opinion this is one of the best sci-fi adventure stories. During the introduction you forget that you're sitting in front of a game. Think of it as an interactive movie. It get's your adrenaline pumping and doesn't let up. You're a military captain armed to your teeth with state-of-the-art firearms blasting your way through Forseti Station, a once privately owned mining station suspended in deep space. Music supplied by Breaking Benjamen, intelligent savage aliens, weapons, serious action. Intense. A must buy!

The New Doom
HummbuggTroubby27 April 2006
Warning: Spoilers
This game has everything you could ask for in a third person shooter. Although I prefer fps more, I still found this game to be entertaining control-wise. When you watch the intro start and when you first enter the ship, you will be gripping your controller for dear life. I also found that having your only companion have her head bitten off within 5 minutes to set the tone for the rest of the game was perfect. I honestly want a sequel to come out. Even if you didn't like the game, the ending will still leave you hanging like a 19th century criminal, and you will beg for more. If you didn't like it, you'll probably say that it wasn't scary or something along those lines, and yet I STILL cannot run through the ship later in the game without cringing at the various dismembered corpses on the walls. This game is a must own and is on the level of Doom in my humble opinion. The soundtrack is a great perk as well, featuring the talents of Breaking Benjamin. The soundtrack definitely sets the chilling tone of the movie, and when you hear Polyhemerous playing in the background during the first boss fight, you can't help but love this game. 11/10 and I went down for you critics.

What a disappointment
HorrorFan7225 November 2002
A true disappointment: Although a great game engine was put in place, during production most of the key players on the title, seeing the poor game design decided to leave. What was left was a boring, uninventive, pulp title. Purchase at your own risk.
