You can tell a lot about a person by the television they watch and the books they read — even while they reveal their theories as to why they lost a Presidential election.
Clinton’s new memoir, “What Happened,” chronicling her experiences surrounding the 2016 election, is surprisingly candid on a number of levels. For example, regarding her coping mechanisms following the loss of the election, “It wasn’t all yoga and breathing: I also drank my share of chardonnay.”
But even more fascinating are the ways in which she invokes current pop culture. Some of the references feel more forced than others. Some of them are truly bonkers.
This is not a complete list of every reference made, as we omitted some of the religious, spiritual, and historical texts upon which she drew to make her points. Instead, here is all the evidence you need that the Clintons know their way around a TV remote,...

So far in this series of pieces that look at the straight-to-dvd or VOD movies of some of our favourite actors who have fallen on hard times, we’ve only looked at men (to date: Bruce Willis, Nicolas Cage, John Cusack and John Travolta). That’s because, mostly, actresses find themselves almost completely out of the game once they hit 30ish – an unnecessary full stop that a lot of us would like to see removed in the future.
Denise Richards, sadly, is no different. After marrying a man she found herself in an abusive relationship with, her career climb stumbled and she was forced back down into TV roles, where she’s currently still putting in the hours.
Richards had a sparkling, American Dream-like start in life.

It was an interesting point for the Selma director to make. After all, the conversation has grown louder and louder when it comes to the discussion regarding women and people of color blazing their own trails and charting their own paths to the top in industries that have been primarily dominated by white males. But according to DuVernay there is an advantage to utilizing the roads paved by those already in positions of privilege and power. "They've got this thing wired. Too often, we live within their games, so why would you not study what worksc Take away the bad stuff -- because there's a lot -- and...

Does anyone in the Seven Kingdoms and across the Narrow Sea have worse luck with weddings and engagements than Sansa? Joffrey. Tyrion. Now Ramsay Bolton. Either Walder Frey or Qyburn's monster must be next. Tyrion was a prince of a husband in comparison, but -- to his credit -- he never wanted to marry a young girl who didn't want him. Now she's engaged to the guy who flays for fun. Seven hells. Do you think the Boltons can be killed off before anything ... happens? This is a big change from the book, but we could say that about several storylines this season. Is that a good thing? It makes the ride a little more exciting...

Well, it's that time of year again when pundits everywhere weigh in on the merits (or lack thereof) of the previous evening's Oscar telecast.
Here are my random observations:
Host Neil Patrick Harris was affable and likable and worked like hell to put on a good show. But there lies the rub. Traditionally, Oscar hosts never had to be chosen for their ability to carry Busby Berkeley-like song and dance extravaganzas. Dear old Jerry Lewis, Bob Hope and Johnny Carson were simply there to keep the traffic flowing to the podium in between rattling off some memorable one-liners. Billy Crystal quashed that tradition with his ever-outrageous opening production numbers that razzed the Academy and some of the nominees. The idea should have been retired with him when he announced he would no longer host the event. Last evening's opening act was certainly opulent and contained some...

In its weekly update, Bungie has finally announced plans to rectify one of Destiny‘s longstanding bugs: the heavy ammo glitch that causes Guardians to lose all of their coveted purple ammunition upon death or when entering a cutscene.
Given the rarity of heavy ammo across the solar system, it’s a wonder it took the studio so long to target the persistent bug, but according to the post on the shooter’s blog, it’s a problem that has been between Bungie’s crosshairs for some time.
“Fixing bugs in a live game is always about managing risk. What are the chances that the fix is going to cause an issue that might be worse than the original bug? Players outnumber our testers by factors of several thousand, so if there is a problem that slips through the cracks, it is virtually guaranteed that the community will find it.

San Diego - Marvel Studios began their Saturday panel with an opening preview reel that was basically a refresher as they ran through all ten of the films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, wrapping up with new footage from "Guardians Of The Galaxy," including a truly awesome shot of Thanos. It was great seeing a visual reminder of just how each of the puzzle pieces was dropped into place, how they've become more adventurous with each new film, how they've started playing with style and tone. Wrapping it up with Chris Pratt snarling, "We're the guardians of the galaxy, bitch" drove Hall H wild, which was a heck of a way for Team Marvel to take the stage. Kevin Feige told the completely packed hall that the first film they'd be highlighting was 2015's "Ant-Man," which has been the subject of some intense controversy so far. New director Peyton Reed...

Steven Soderbergh followed The Underneath, a superb neo-noir that expertly uses widescreen framing and color photography to its full potential, with Schizopolis, a film motivated by his feelings of artistic impotence. This concept is somewhat surprising, as The Underneath is one of his best films, one of the best neo-noirs from the nineties, and one of Soderbergh’s more underrated works. Schizopolis is more well-known and seen (thanks to Criterion) but unfortunately, it is a stale work that only exists for the director’s edification. After Schizopolis, Soderbergh reportedly felt rejuvenated and made Out of Sight, which ended his commercial slump so we can all thank this experimental film for Soderbergh’s commercial and artistic turning point. However, this exercise is far more interesting to think and write than it is to watch. Schizopolis is ultimately more interesting in the abstract than it is in reality

What did you want to be when you were a kid? Spaceman? Lollipop lady? James Bond? Wonder Woman? A multitude of choices all waiting to be explored without the burdens of grown-up red tape and crushing rejection.
For Buffy, however, employment options are more limited than the average Jo. Due to her pesky calling as the Slayer, filling in a multiple choice employment questionnaire is more arduous than it should be. “Unless hell freezes over and every vampire in Sunnydale puts in for early retirement, I'd say my future is pretty much sealed,” she frowns. Could it be though that another Slayer in town can offer a way out of her destiny and into a life full of wage slips and tax woes?
That's just one of the many questions thrown up in the bumper two-parter What's My Line?. It's the first double whammy since the début story, and it's...

For those who may be new to my articles or have not read my brief profile, my childhood was spent growing up in the Outback of Australia. Now when it comes to the reputation of our country’s hostile environment, everything you have probably heard is true. The dangers that like to come at you at a moments notice pretty much all can kill you.
We have a majority of the world’s most dangerous animals right here on our doorstep (literally, they will come to your doorstep). In actual fact, out of what is considered the ten most dangerous animals in existence, we currently are home to 4 of them. Australian Box Jellyfish, the Great White Shark, the Eastern Brown Snake and the Saltwater Crocodile.

Rob and Dylan are heating up, but there’s reportedly at least one person who isn’t exactly thrilled about it — her dad!
It’s never easy for a guy to get the approval of his girlfriend’s father. And when you’re Robert Pattinson, an incredibly famous, incredibly sexy actor wanted by every girl in the world, and your girlfriend’s father is Sean Penn, it’s apparently even harder.
Sean Penn Warns Robert Pattinson About Dating His Daughter
The 53-year-old iconic actor reportedly had a sit-down with Rob to talk about the budding relationship with his daughter, Dylan Penn, according to Metro. Sean is reportedly concerned that Dylan is just a rebound hookup for Rob — he wants to make sure his little girl isn’t going to get hurt.
“Rob and Dylan get on well and really fancy one another. It’s obvious Dylan is smitten,” a source told Metro.

We got together (during) the last year of Monsters Inc. in 2001. I figured I’d have to leave the show, and I was willing to leave the company at that point. We had talked about it. But they were completely great. They said “Of course not. You’re such a great team, a producing team. We’d love for you to keep working together.” They were nothing but supportive, and have been the whole time. We’ve chosen since Monsters Inc. to not (work together). … I think it’s...

Teen Wolf is going to a full throated howl on same-sex loving this season. We already know that Danny will be dating one of the Alpha Twins played by Max and Charlie Carver, but we didn't know how far they might take it. Jeff Davis says there will be some only-on-cable scenes between the boys. "I can't say we go to Spartacus levels, but their sex scenes are treated just like any other sex scenes you've seen on our show. I've always thought that if you present this idealized world where young gay men and women are no different from anyone else, and it's not really questioned by the other characters, maybe life starts to imitate art and you begin to see that in the real world."

So, this is new for "American Idol" -- live audience shows, but America doesn't vote. Ten ladies are performing and five have to go home, then next week 10 more perform and five more go home. It's the same for the guys, leaving us with 10 women and 10 men by the end of next week.
Ryan introduces the 20 women and it's fairly obvious the ones we're supposed to know and like already, because about half of them are complete unknowns. But since we aren't voting yet, we suppose it doesn't matter.
1. Jenny Beth Willis, "Heaven, Heartache and the Power of Love," Trisha Yearwood
So, Jenny Beth is dressed like a can-can dancer goes Grand Ol' Opry, it's a little terrifying. Vocally, she has a nice tone, but this song is getting away from her a little bit -- she's missing notes and is flat at times, plus she seems a little stiff.

"Destiny" has been one of the worst-kept secrets in the game industry, what with the Bungie/Activision contract leaking amidst the "Call of Duty" court case last May, the story/art leak in November, and Bungie itself even teased the game deep inside of "Halo 3: Odst". But those were all just small pieces of the puzzle, and now we’ve finally been able to sit down with the studio and officially take a look at the game.
Well, at least we’ve seen pieces of the game. It’s a bit like Leonardo da Vinci showing you a palette, some paints, a brush, and a canvas, and then saying, “Here’s what I’ll be using to paint the Mona Lisa.” Because this was a first look at their new creation, it was very top-level, explaining the story, and blasting us with a lot of concept art.
