Hulu has to be pretty pleased with its list of new releases for June 2024. That’s because it’s about to be the summer of The Bear once again.
The Bear season 3 premieres all of its episodes on June 27 on Hulu. This FX dramedy has proven to be one of the most successful shows of its era. Jeremy Allen White stars as Carmy Berzatto, a world-famous chef who returns home to Chicago to help his floundering family restaurant after the death of his brother. Season 2 saw The Original Beef of Chicagoland crew transform the spot into fine dining establishment The Bear. It ruled. So will season 3 probably.
FX is responsible for the other major TV release on Hulu this month. Clipped premieres on June 4 and is about the scandalous real life story of Donald Sterling, the awful owner of the basketball team the Los Angeles Clippers. Another intriguing TV option...

June is busting out all over, especially on streaming. Whether it’s hiding from the heat or taking a break from school and work, Disney+ and Hulu are here to satisfying your mid-year entertainment needs.
Disney+ will premiere the first new live-action Star Wars since 2023’s middling to “The Mandalorian” Season 3 and “Ahsoka” with “The Acolyte,” starring “Squid Game” breakout Lee Jung-jae. The series is set before the events of “The Phantom Menace” with a familiar master-padawan storyline but new characters and a new era where that dynamic unfolds. The streamer will also premiere various new options for kids and family-friendly programming, as well as new episodes of “Doctor Who” starring Ncuti Gatwa.
On Hulu, FX comes in hot for the summer, along with an adaptation of Candice Carty-Williams’s “Queenie,” the brat-pack documentary “Brats,” and yes — more “Love Island.” The TV and film library continues to shift with new and expiring titles,...

In his acclaimed FX series The Bear, creator Christopher Storer uses quick cuts, visual chaos and unusual angles to give make viewers feel like they are in the kitchen and feeling the pressure.
For his next project, however, he is bringing that visual identity to a new platform: A Coca-Cola ad, with a :90-second version of the spot set to appear on tonight’s Emmys broadcast.
The ad, called “The New Guy,” sees a girl bringing her new boyfriend to her family’s house for a big get-together. The New Guy learns how to navigate the family’s quirks, while a number of Coca-Cola products are integrated into the story.
It looks, feels, and even sounds like The Bear, and executives at Coca-Cola say that is not a coincidence.

The episode of Revisited covering Wrong Turn 2: Dead End was Written by Emilie Black, Edited by Juan Jimenez, Narrated by Niki Minter, Produced by Tyler Nichols and John Fallon, and Executive Produced by Berge Garabedian.
A long, long time ago, in a state deep in the woods, a bunch of people were eaten by cannibal hillbillies in a film called Wrong Turn. Soon, the locals to where the film was taking place got very angry about the depiction of their fellow mountain and wood residents, which they thought gave them a bad name. Horror fans responded by seeing the film anyways, making it a minor hit. The first film had a budget of $12.6 million and made $28.7 million at the box office. While this may lead to a sequel at times, it was not a given. Fast forward to 4 years later and we are gifted with the first of a long series of sequels.

CBS’ Blue Bloods this Friday night closed out Season 13 with a few blasts from the past, some divine intervention in the commish/mayor feud, and an announcement from one Erin Reagan.
As TVLine was first to tell you, original cast member Jennifer Esposito returned as Jackie Curatola for the first time since early Season 3. The apparent resumption of Dr. Walker’s killing spree led Danny to re-partner with Jackie, who is now Chief of Police for an itty bitty town in Suffolk County. Walker, they learned, had been quietly released from prison, but Danny & Co. had no luck tying him to the new slayings.

Casting films is an unlikely path to writing and directing them, but Lise Akoka and Romane Guéret didn’t only succeed on that journey, they made the experience the basis of their first feature, “Les Pires (The Worst Ones),” earning a berth in Un Certain Regard.
The French filmmakers met on the set of Rudi Rosenberg’s 2015 teen comedy “Le Nouveau (The New Kid).” Akoka worked as a casting director and acting coach, Guéret was a casting trainee, and the two became fast friends. “We were in the north of France, in those old mining territories, and found these two amazing children,” Akoka recalls through a translator. “We fell in love with them, along with their school and surroundings. But in the end, the director didn’t, and they didn’t work on the film. So we decided that we had to write a short film to feature them.” That was 2016’s “Chasse Royale,...

With movie theaters fully back up and running, HBO Max no longer has any major film releases to point to with its list of new releases for May 2022. That’s alright though as the streamer is leaning into the HBO side of its branding to offer up some fun TV releases.

While numerous controversies have already plagued this year’s Oscars — pre-recording eight categories, not initially inviting “West Side Story” star Rachel Zegler, and snubbing both Lady Gaga and Denis Villeneuve — the presenters list is among the most baffling choice for some.
In what seems like a selection of simply the most famous people on the planet regardless of profession, skateboarding icon Tony Hawk is among this year’s presenters. This week, he weighed in on reactions to his and others’ presenting gigs at the 94th Academy Awards on March 27.

Donald Trump may be too thin-skinned to attend the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, but at least a former head of state made an appearance last night. Well, kind of: Will Ferrell reprised his role as George W. Bush at Samantha Bee’s “Not the White House Correspondents’ Dinner,” reminding us all of a simpler time when mispronouncing “nuclear” and starting a war under false pretenses was enough to earn you the title of “worst president of all time.”

Spotting a con should be easier when you work in a job that makes you naturally suspicious of people. Chicago P.D. would certainly qualify. This week Intelligence works a case involving several cons, which puts everyone on edge more than they’d like to admit. That raised suspicion falls on someone they believed they could trust, but new information threatens to tear that tenuous trust down. A natural gas explosion next-door to an Lgbt home is not so natural since Cfd finds that the pipes were tampered with. Intelligence is ready to confirm the victims as the house’s tenant, and one

It's been nothing but tough for Tom Kirkman. He's getting pressure from all sides and his Mr. Nice Guy act might have to take a back seat. We know Kirkman has the backbone to make the tough decisions, but is he really ready to go full-fledged hard ass?
So what's going to happen next?
He has to make a decision regarding war now that the enemy has been identified, but it doesn't seem Kirkman is convinced. Hannah is still investigating what happened inside the Capitol with MacLeish, but there might not be any more time for her to get to the truth. Kirkman has to make a decision, and he has to make it now.
It also appears there are domestic issues at hand for Kirkman to deal with including his wife talking with Congressman Hookstraten. Why would Alex feel it's okay to talk with that evil woman? It's obvious...

It’s cinema sequel time once more, film fans. Generally follow-ups pop up with great frequency during the Summer months, but this flick bends the release rules on many levels. For one thing, a dozen years have passed by since the last installment. Not quite the 20 years between Independence Days, but still rather lengthy. Two more things: it’s based on a book series that focuses on a female protagonist. No, it’s not from a Ya (young adult) series, so get The Hunger Games and Twilight, out of your heads, since this characters has several years on Bella and Katniss. Plus, this is not an action epic set in a dystopian future, rather the present day (although some elements do venture into fantasy). So in 2001 we delved into her diary, three years later she took us to the edge of reason, and now we get to meet Bridget Jones’S Baby.

Bridget Jones is a goddess. At least she was in 2001, when Texas-born Renée Zellweger introduced author Helen Fielding's weight-obsessed, love-starved, accident-prone British singleton to the screen in Bridget Jones' Diary. Zellweger deservedly nabbed an Oscar nomination as Best Actress; award talk evaporated, however, for the 2004 sequel Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason. The actress was back juggling her affections for snobbish barrister Mark Darcy (Colin Firth) and her caddish boss Daniel Cleaver (Hugh Grant). But the follow-up played like it'd been attacked by a charisma-killing virus. And so for a dozen years,...

Good grief, the Fosters can't ever seem to catch a break!

If there was a competition on which Foster was suffering the most, it would definitely be between Marianna and Lena. The show is doing a fantastic job with the aftermath of the Nick situation.
My heart aches for Lena. She's trying so desperately to keep it together, but she's genuinely afraid. She's throwing everything she has into making sure their home and the school are safe. She's traumatized!
Lena obsessively checking in on the kids at home was devastating. She's insistent that they install a security system in the home and agitated that Stef isn't getting it done quickly.

In 1997, Star Wars began its ineluctable turn to the digital side. A New Hope, re-released in January that year, marked the first of George Lucas’s Special Edition revamps of his blockbuster saga; then 20 years old, the original 70s print was decaying. Jon Stewart did not say goodbye on his emotional final episode of "The Daily Show," he just said he was going out for a drink. But how many people tuned in to see his emotional #JonVoyage after 16 years on Comedy Central?
According to Deadline, last night's August 6 finale was watched by 3.5 million viewers, with 1.8 million in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demo. That made it the second most-watched "Daily Show" episode after the 3.6 million who tuned in for a visit from then-presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama on October 28, 2008. The numbers are close, though, and 3.5 million for Jon's farewell is up from the 2.5 million for "The Colbert Report" finale last year. That was the Stephen Colbert show's largest audience.

The new guy who will show the country embarrassing and hilarious clips as host of America's Funniest Home Videos will be none other than Alfonso Ribeiro, a.k.a. Carlton Banks, a.k.a. last season's king of Dancing With the Stars. Fittingly enough, the news was announced by the show's current host, Tom Bergeron, on tonight's finale of DWTS. Ribeiro will usher in the 26th season of the show, ABC's longest-running prime-time entertainment franchise, this fall. "After receiving hundreds of inquiries, stacks of video submissions, and a very close audition race, one smile, one funny and sincere delivery became our standout favorite — Alfonso Riberio," executive producer Vin Di Bona said in a statement. Amen. Long live Carlton and the Carlton. May they both enjoy a successful decade (at least!) of showing this nation how funny and clumsy it is.

This review is based on the first episode of season one.
When I was a kid, I thought the pinnacle of mature adult entertainment was a movie like The New Guy. Awash in the lavish, hormone-fueled juncture between middle school and high school, my friends and I mistook PG-13 level profanities and boner jokes as what every adult must be hiding behind those elusive and mythical R ratings. And then a few years later I watched The 40-Year-Old Virgin. I was an idiot, as most 12-year-olds are, in understanding what actual, substantial and effective mature entertainment really means.
