Christine Cavanaugh's final movie role, as she retired from acting in 2003 due to being diagnosed with chronic myelogenous leukemia. She died on December 22, 2014, and because of this, Nancy Cartwright became the new voice of Chuckie Finster starting with Rugrats Go Wild (2003) and later episodes of Rugrats (1990).
This movie was originally intended to be more of a musical, similar to The Rugrats Movie (1998). The Rugrats were set to sing "Chuckie Chan" and "Ooie Gooie World Theme" while Chuckie performed "I Want a Mom That Will Last Forever," though a much sillier version. While these songs remain in the movie, they are performed by other artists mostly non-diegetically. Only two songs ("Bad Girls" and "Packin' to Go") are still sung by the characters in the movie.
