Lj: WHO STOLE MY F***IN VODKA
Featured review
Direct to Video Gem!
What a little gem of a movie! Despite the reputation that comes with direct to video releases (think films such as Cruel Intentions 2), this little number certainly stands out from the crowd!
The story is of a group of girls (and a few guys) who embark on a holiday to idyllic town of Byron Bay on the north coast of New South Wales. They are celebrating their end of year exams with a traditional holiday of drinking and going to the beach. There are a few noteworthy performances here from the likes of Lj (Lauren James) and Brendan (Brendan Hill (I)), two whom we are sure to see in future DTV productions. The story follows personal trials and tribulations, and is a good message to teens about the dangers of excessive drinking. Perhaps comissioned by the New South Wales government to showcase what happens when a few too many shots are downed by a bunch of dynamo's.
In any case, this is a realer then reel look at teenage life, the ups and downs and the feeling portrayed by amateur film maker Zhenya Welyczko. It's realer than Big Brother, and a hell of a lot more entertaining.
I give it ****/*****
