In the taxi cab/Porsche chase, the Porsche's mirror is knocked off when the taxi swipes the door. The mirror returns in all subsequent shots.
In an establishing wide shot of the Federal Reserve's security centre, a digital clock quite plainly states the time is "00:07" - then a guard performs a scheduled system check during which time the same digital clock is seen in close-up to switch from "23:59" to "00:00."
When Julio and Ramundo abduct Alvin Sanders for a ride in their Mercedes, their gun is fired, and the driver's side window is cracked, with the sound of breaking glass; however, when the Mercedes goes onto the sidewalk, prior to hitting a telephone booth, the driver's side window is in pristine condition.
As Bristol stares at Sanders from the back seat of a cab while escaping an ambush, the TAXI light remains on, not off as it should be after the meter starts in a NYC taxi.
As Alvin is being confronted by the running man in city square, you can clearly see that it is packed full of people. In the next shot when you see Alvin picking up the bag, the city square is empty, with not a person but him in sight.
The security at the gold vault at the Federal Reserve is incredibly low tech and is impossible to hack into either via computer or through a wall. Located many stories even below the subway, the only way in or out of the vault is through a ten foot corridor which is rotated at night, sealing the vault. (As a note, there is only a 72 hour air supply once the vault is sealed.) (This information is online at the bank's web site, so it's no secret.)
The gold vault is in the "Federal Reserve Bank of New York" and not the "Federal Gold Reserve."
Not only are there no thoroughbred racetracks in Manhattan, anyone remotely familiar with horse racing knows only "The Meadowlands Racetrack" runs at night. It is located in East Rutherford, NJ; also in the same sports complex as Giants Stadium, home of the NY Giants & NY Jets football NFL teams; & lastly, The NJ Devils Hockey Team & the NJ Nets NBA team (when this film was made; now located in Brooklyn: the "Brooklyn Nets").
The tracking device implanted in Sanders is said to have a 10 mile signal radius, yet it is tracked via satellite.
The letter carrier states he has a registered letter. When the letter is shown from the back, the green overlay of a certified sticker is seen.
Gold is incredibly dense and heavy. Lugging a box of gold bars onto a truck would probably tear your arms off.
When the Mercedes is sliding on its side causing sparks, then car stops after hitting another car. The sparks continue to flow out after the car stops.
When Alvin & Ramundo are fighting, Julio pulls out a gun and we hear the sound of the hammer being cocked. However, the ensuing shot has Julio holding the gun to Alvin's head, and the hammer is not cocked at all. Few shots later, we hear the sound of the hammer being cocked again, and this time it is shown cocked against Alvin's head.
There are no horse race tracks in Manhattan.
The scene that is said in the script to be taking place at the 53rd and 5th Avenue subway station is actually filmed at the 59th and 5th stop. There is no 53rd and 5th stop on the New York City subway system.
Alvin sets up an elaborate chase to trick his Federal agent tormentors into revealing themselves. In front of a row of pay phones, Alvin, the small time crook, checks the time on a Rolex Yacht Master Stainless Steel & Platinum watch. Anytime he needed $10,000 all Alvin had to do was sell his watch.
