Marvel’s upcoming Fantastic Four reboot has rightly generated hype considering the kind of updates that have come out thus far. While the characters were previously featured in the 20th Century Fox series, perhaps the most accurate depiction from the comics happened in 1994’s Fantastic Four: The Animated Series, as it featured multiple narratives taken straight from various traditional DC arcs.
The titular theory, which suggests that the upcoming movie might as well feature the same characters from the timeline seen in the animated offering makes sense on various fronts. Furthermore, it will also pave the way for the potential inclusion of the X-Men ‘97 characters in a future live-action movie.

The X-Men '97 finale featured some huge Marvel Universe cameos, including Black Panther. However, we'd later discover that T'Chaka was beneath the mask, not T'Challa.
The decision has perplexed viewers, particularly when T'Challa's father is typically portrayed as the former Black Panther who fought alongside Captain America in World War II. T'Challa being sidelined has spawned many fan theories, with most convinced the decision must be related to Chadwick Boseman's death.
Following the actor's tragic passing, Marvel Studios chose not to recast his Black Panther. Instead, the hero died off-screen in the MCU, and 2022's Black Panther: Wakanda Forever ended with the reveal that he has a son, also called T'Challa.
In an interview with Phase Zero (via Toonado.com), X-Men '97 supervising director Jake Castorena was asked if there was a reason T'Chaka was depicted as Black Panther after the short-lived Fantastic Four: The Animated Series featured the...

Even though the Marvel Cinematic Universe is incredibly secretive with Avengers 5, just like every other one of its projects, leaks about the casting for the movie seem to be popping up nonetheless. This comes after the renowned industry scooper Daniel Richtman recently threw in some reported details about which superheroes could be seen in the 2026-scheduled film.

While fans were expecting to hear a lot of names from all the new superheroes introduced by the MCU, they were inevitably disappointed after Richtman revealed Kevin Feige’s plan for the next installment in the Avengers saga. This is because, according to those reports, Pedro Pascal and the remaining of the new Fantastic Four gang will reportedly not appear in the movie — at all.

Although a majority of the critics seemingly deemed it unworthy, the original Fantastic Four film series is still regarded as one of the best adaptations ever created. This is because even though a lot of people had issues with the plotlines, pretty much no one had any issues with the cast which included Chris Evans’ widely acclaimed fan-favorite embodiment of the Human Torch as well.
The original Fantastic Four cast from the early 2000s.
In fact, Evans’ performance as Johnny Storm so deeply influenced the viewers that even someone like Joseph Quinn, who would be continuing the character’s legacy in the upcoming reboot, couldn’t help but praise him. But while he holds him in wide regard, Quinn has also made it clear that his portrayal of Johnny wouldn’t be the same, but rather, something he creates on his own.

A new Fantastic Four reboot is currently in the works, and this one seemingly intends to right all the wrongs that the previous films from the original saga did. If anything, it seems to be especially setting a different course for the Silver Surfer than was seen in the previous installments, considering the most recent casting reports.
The Fantastic Four.
According to news from sources, Norrin Radd will seemingly have a new companion by his side when he gets introduced in the upcoming movie: Shalla-Bal, the character Julia Garner has been cast in. Judging from the turn of events, Garner’s character just might end up fixing one mistake that the old F4 film did with the Herald of Galactus’ story.

/Film recently ranked the five live-action Fantastic Four films and came to the following daring conclusion: Oley Sassone's unreleased 1994 entry "The Fantastic Four" was the best. Many have seen this version of "The Fantastic Four" thanks to the wide circulation of bootleg copies, and it's been ridiculed in many cinematic circles for its low budget (it was made for only $1 million), its corny dialogue, and its aggressively bad special effects. But while the cheapness of Sassone's film is visibly evident -- it was overseen by B-movie elder stateman Roger Corman -- it does manage to capture the comic-operatic tone of the original 1960s comic books. It accurately understands the outsize nature of the characters.
For many years, the only way to see "The Fantastic Four" was through surreptitiously distributed VHS taps handed off between nerdy high school students. Thanks...

Since Marvel Studios hasn’t had the best luck when it comes to their recent premiers at the box office, they are now locked in heavily with the production and excellent execution of their future projects, the biggest among them being none other than the reboot of The Fantastic Four.
Thus, to make it stand out from the others that came before it, they are putting some serious effort and thought into it.

Along with lining the main characters with a star cast, there have now been alleged leaks and speculative reports of a synopsis of the upcoming film, which is proving to be looking more like a bad thing than good. This short summary of the story has many flaws that the fans have figured out, especially about the narrative taking place in the Multiverse rather than Earth-616.

Overtake! is a sports anime about F4 racing. Money and sponsorships determine the outcome as much as skill. The protagonist Haruka Asahina is a young driver allied with the independent “privateer” team Komaki Motors. All it takes is a bad tire for Haruka to lose a race. His rivals, Satsuki Harunaga and Toshiki Tokumaru, belong to the larger and wealthier team Belsorriso. They win even on their worst days. The stage is set for an underdog story, where a young boy comes from nowhere to beat the establishment at their own game. Related: Overtake! Is a Great Way to Get Into Formula Racing Certainly the climax of the series sees Haruka and Komaki Motors challenge Belsorriso’s dominance of the track. But Overtake! has a lot more on its mind than just Haruka’s story of perseverance. The series spends just as much time with Satsuki and Toshiki of Belsorriso.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) remains one of the most hotly debated franchises despite the recent decline in form. The franchise is currently in its fifth phase and is building up steam in its Multiverse Saga, which will lead to the next Avengers movies. However, fans have often been critical of the direction Kevin Feige has taken with the newer phases of the MCU.
Robert Downey Jr. in Iron Man 3
On X (formerly Twitter), an avid fan pointed out the flaw in MCU’s current plan using Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man as an example. The fan made a compelling argument regarding the state of the MCU and the crisis it might face if Feige and his team do not rectify the situation. Most fans seemed to agree with the supposed flaw in Feige’s plan for the Multiverse Saga and here is what fans are saying on social media.

Marvel has a plethora of projects slated for release in the coming years, many of which have been caught in limbo due to the recent SAG-AFTRA strike that brought the industry to a standstill, resulting in numerous delays and cancellations.
Among these projects, ‘Blade,’ an eagerly anticipated Marvel Studios venture, has faced challenges predating the strikes. This McU-based film follows Eric Brooks, a prominent vampire hunter from the comics, and marks a reboot of the beloved ‘Blade’ trilogy, which played a pivotal role in paving the way for the MCU.
Details about the ‘Blade’ movie are scarce, aside from Mahershala Ali spearheading the project and portraying the titular vampire hunter. Initially slated for a 2023 release, the film’s debut has been pushed back to 2025 (thus far), largely due to Ali’s concerns with the script.

Marvel has plenty of projects bound to be released in the next few years, and we know that most of these projects have been stuck in a sort of limbo due to the historic SAG-AFTRA strike that paralyzed the whole industry as a whole, causing plenty of projects to be both delayed or altogether canceled.
One extremely anticipated Marvel Studios project that had problems way before the strikes began is ‘Blade.’ It is an McU-based movie following Eric Brooks, the most notable vampire hunter in comics, and a reboot of the already highly popular ‘Blade’ trilogy that contributed to paving the way for the MCU that we know today.
Next to nothing is known about the ‘Blade’ movie besides the fact that Mahershala Ali proposed the project and will be playing the titular vampire hunter. The movie was originally supposed to come out in 2023, but the release date was pushed...

Several aspects of Marvel Studios’ upcoming Fantastic Four film remain a mystery, though the veil has been lifted from the official superhero quartet’s casting. Fans and enthusiasts have traditionally relied on rumors and reports to compensate for the lack of available and confirmed information. When it concerns F4, those have gone hand-in-hand with its existence so far.
In a similar spirit, a recent report has gained traction, delving into potential plot details. And it may answer the question of Kang the Conqueror and his variants in the MCU narrative.
Could this Kang variant be in The Fantastic Four (2025)?
Jonathan Majors’ firing has left several questions unanswered in the MCU. Many have agreed that a recast is likely in store; others have even proposed a grand retcon that theorized the big bad’s complete removal from the franchise, having him replaced by other formidable forces. Although not much has been confirmed,...

Hollywood star Jon Hamm is gung-ho to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) but said that those decisions get made at such a “high level at this point, definitely above his pay grade.” Asked recently by Screen Rant about joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the star replied: “Those decisions get made at such a high level at this point, definitely above my pay grade. I would love to. I’ve been a fan of Marvel Comics and comics in general since I was probably single digits.”
“I think there are tons of stories that I’m familiar with, at least, that are still out there to be told.”
Hamm specifically called out The X-Men and The Fantastic Four as properties that still have a lot of tread on their tires. In terms of characters, he namechecked F4 villain Doctor Doom, reports deadline.com.
“Hopefully, whatever their plans are, they include me.

We haven’t had a proper Avengers movie since the release of ‘Endgame’ in 2019, and this is the moment that plenty of fans felt the MCU stopped giving us their best. Instead, it’s been a rollercoaster of underperforming Disney+ series and movies with few notable exceptions that have been praised far and wide.
We know that Marvel Studios has two Avengers movies planned for 2026 and 2027, ‘Kang Dynasty’ and ‘Secret Wars.’ But due to the most recent controversies surrounding Jonathan Majors and the poor performance of the movies that were released in the last year or so, the studio might be rethinking its strategy, and it’s been heavily rumored for the past several weeks that ‘Kang Dynasty’ perhaps ain’t happening at all.
‘Quantumania’ was the first movie that was supposed to showcase the new villain for the Avengers, Kang the Conqueror or Council of Kangs in any case.

The trouble with Wonder Woman
Superstar comics writer Grant Morrison had some criticisms of Zack Snyder's take on Wonder Woman for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, telling Nerdist that Gal Gadot's portrayal is "not what [Wonder Woman creator] William Marston wanted" for the superhero.

Welcome back to S7AR Wars, my weekly engagement with Star Wars Episode VII news, rumors and speculation and - slowly but surely - where I confront my overall problems with being a fan that would love to know everything and feel like he knows nothing.
On that latter half, because if I don’t put it at the top, I’m afraid I won’t come back around to it, I must admit I was puzzled that we were so starved for real dispatches from the Star Wars set this week. We spent the first half reporting that more Star Wars movies would be filmed at Pinewood (something we’ve known ever since the time was booked at the studio) and yesterday talking about a Harrison Ford ankle injury. That’s literally all we know about that ankle situation, outside of a rumbling that the injury was sustained on the Millennium Falcon.

Lucasfilm has found another director for one of their upcoming Star Wars standalone movies, announcing that Josh Trank (Chronicle) will be helming a yet-to-be-revealed feature set in the Star Wars universe! The upcoming project is just one of multiple standalone movies that Disney and Lucasfilm plan on releasing that will further explore the characters outside of the main trilogy of films currently being developed.
The news arrives just one month after director Gareth Edwards was announced as the first director for the series of standalone projects which will arrive in theaters on December 16th, 2016.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Josh into the family,” says Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy. “He is such an incredible talent and has a great imagination and sense of innovation. That makes him perfectly suited to Star Wars, and for this new slate of movies that reach beyond the core characters and storylines of episodes I through IX.

A round-up of social media reaction to the news is presented below:

"I think what people are forgetting is Harrison Ford is returning and will most likely be the lead with a big role in the film. That being said I would love to have seen the rumoured Gary Oldman cast in the film. He had great chemistry opposite Harrison Ford in Air Force One and is a very underrated actor - who most likely would not have taken too much spotlight from new cast members.

He’ll always be Landry to us. After his time in Dillon, Friday Night Lights star Jesse Plemons joined Breaking Bad for its final season and is now among the list of talented actors in consideration for Star Wars: Episode VII. According to Variety, five actors are in the running to star as the lead in J.J. Abrams‘ upcoming installment of the legendary Disney/Lucasfilm franchise.
In addition to Plemons, casting conversation is said to be focused around British actor John Boyega of Attack the Block and Downton Abbey‘s Ed Speleers as well as stage actors Matthew James Thomas and Ray Fisher. The lucky guy will eventually join Girls star Adam Driver, who was recently cast as the film’s villain. The original Stars Wars trio of Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher) and Hans Solo (Harrison Ford) is expected to be appearing in the film, but nothing has been confirmed.

42-Track 'Arrested Development' Soundtrack Details Revealed, Mitch Hurwitz Eyes 'Ad' Film On Netflix
Embedded within its many in-jokes, visual cues, and constantly shifting timeline, the fourth season of “Arrested Development” firmly carried on the series' excellent use of original songs and score composed by David Schwartz (“Deadwood”, “Northern Exposure”). Songs like “It Ain't Easy Being White” and this latest season's “Fantastic Four Medley” and “Get Away” have had fans clamoring for an official soundtrack for years, and now a release date has been announced, along with a possible distribution option for the “Arrested Development” film. Varese Sarabande certainly had a bevy of choices to choose from in compiling the comedy soundtrack, out on November 19th. And indeed, 42 tracks show up on the final tracklist, which you can view below (via Film Music Reporter). It compiles a selection from all four seasons of the show, ranging from the heavily featured (an extended edition of “Balls In The Air” from season three) to the fleetingly referenced (“Mr.

Contortionist-turned-actor Doug Jones recently spoke with Collider about his role as the alien Cochise on the sci-fi drama "Falling Skies." The role isn't the first one to involve heavy makeup and a precise execution of body language; he has previously played the lead Gentleman in the "Buffy" episode "Hush," the Silver Surfer in "Fantastic Four: The Rise of the Silver Surfer," El Fauno in "Pan's Labyrinth," and - the reason we're writing this article - Abe Sapien in the two "Hellboy" films.
Jones continues to have a lot of love for the merman that he made famous thanks to his unmistakable movements, which came up during the interview.

Robin Sachs, the English actor known and loved for roles in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Galaxy Quest, and Babylon 5 has passed away...
Inspiring warmth and devotion from viewers on the basis of just four appearances in a television programme is quite something, and that’s exactly what Robin Sachs was to fans of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
In the role of Buffy’s Ethan Rayne, Rupert Giles’ mischievous, dark arts-dabbling friend from his ‘Ripper’ days, Sachs made such an impression that many of the tributes following the news of his death have focused disproportionately on the role. It’s hard not to. It would however, be selling Sachs’ extremely short not to place those four episodes of Buffy in context of a forty-year screen and stage career.
Working backwards, Sachs spent much of the last decade providing voices for video games for franchises including Star Wars,...

1.) Principal photography for Peter Jackson's The Hobbit movies already went on for a lengthy 250 days, but the director is now trying to talk Warner Bros into a few more weeks of filming next year. He says the additional shoot would focus on the 125 pages of appendices found at the end of "The Return of the King." The added footage could be used for an "extended edition" of the The Hobbit: There and Back Again (aka "The Hobbit 2") or split the second movie in two, turning the series into a trilogy. Ron Perlman plays a big meanie in the movies, but he's clearly a giant softie. The extra large actor — who recently wrapped work on Guillermo del Toro's aliens versus robots bonanza, Pacific Rim — took time out of his busy schedule to work on a special project for the Make-a-Wish Foundation. Perlman reprised his role as the demon Hellboy for a child named Zachary, who wanted to meet Perlman dressed as the heroic monster, but also become Hellboy. Special effects company Spectral Motion — who have lent their talents to films like Fantastic Four and the X-Men series — hosted the event. "Ron loved the idea and donned the makeup once more (with the assistance of Lufeng Qu and Eden Elizalde) and also ordered a Hellboy sized meal of burgers...

These days it's impossible to release any animated feature without at least thirty names billed on the movie poster and the smog of its promotional campaigns polluting all of late night television.
But not unlike their superhero alter egos, once upon a time celebrity voice actors remained anonymous behind their animated masks. Most of us remember when our minds were blown by the revelation that James Avery, aka Uncle Phil from "Fresh Prince," provided the voice of Shredder on "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles."
Let's take a look at some lesser known, random, and nonsensical voice castings in the superhero universe.
5. Brian Austin Green as The Human Torch ("The Marvel Action Hour: The Fantastic Four", 1994)
Before Chris Evans donned the flame-retardant spandex as Johnny Storm, former teen heartthrob and present day Mr. Megan Fox, Brian Austin Green, was the first person in decades to bring life to The Human Torch.

Ron Perlman makes an action packed return to film with the release of The Scorpion King 3: Battle for Redemption on Blu-ray and DVD from February 27th 2012. In his latest role, screen-legend Perlman stars as Horus – the powerful and inspirational King of Egypt – who dispatches Mathayus (Victor Webster), a deadly assassin for hire, to protect his kingdom and allies from imminent attack. In return for his services, Matahyus is promised Princess Silda’s hand in marriage and the legendary Eye of the Gods medallion.
Well-known for his role as the superhero Hellboy in 2004, and in the sequel Hellboy II (2008), Perlman is a man of many talents although he often flies below the radar, or at least behind the microphone in some of his most iconic roles. So, unless you've been in the Phantom or Negative Zones for the past decade, you know that movies based on comic books (and the general comic book mythos), specifically superhero comics, have been all the rage. This year, the four big comic movies released (just to cover our bases: Thor, X-Men: First Class, Green Lantern, and Captain America -- no offense, Green Hornet, and, seriously, fuck you, Cowboys & Aliens) haven't been the breakout blockbuster smashes of either of Christopher Nolan's Batmen films, any of the previous X-Men movies or Sam Raimi's Spider-Man franchise, and not even close to the first Iron Man.
You know this. You've probably been thinking that, even though this summer's crop has performed markedly better and been, overall, more critically appealing than previous less-than-successful comic book movies (Catwoman, Daredevil, the Fantastic Fours, Superman Returns, to name, literally, a few), studios, theater chains, and audiences...

When Thor hits theaters on May 6, it’ll kickstart a summer packed full of handsomely-costumed superpowered individuals fighting expensively CGI’d evil. June brings us the franchise preboot X-Men: First Class and the space-faring Green Lantern, followed by the Nazi-punching Captain America: The First Avenger in July. It’s a feast for comic book fans, and it’s very much the culmination of a decade that saw superheroes rise to the top of the summer box office season, with a host of new trilogies (X-Men, Spider-Man, Blade, Batman), fascinating curios (Kick-Ass, Superman Returns, Ang Lee’s Hulk), and plenty of...

The big news of the night, which you probably all know by now, is that Ellen DeGeneres has stepped down as a judge on American Idol. She had four years left on a rich contract, but never liked the work, or the schedule she had to keep to do both shows.
What the generally reliable Gossip Cop is reporting is that Ellen was able to announce her resignation because they had finished the contracts for the replacement judges for her and Simon. And those replacements are Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler of Aerosmith. I’d been hearing JLo for years, but Tyler is a new name. Can America really look at him five hours/week?

PARIS -- EMI Music France and French animation group Moonscoop-Taffy Entertainment have signed an agreement giving EMI exclusive distribution rights to music from all current and future series in Moonscoop's catalog, the companies said Wednesday.
EMI Label One, a leader in European musical formats based on animated series, and Moonscoop-Taffy plan to combine their resources for the marketing of a wide range of musical products including albums, clips, compilations, karaoke and mobile formats for such current series as Code Lyoko, Alien Bazar, Funky Cops, Titeuf, The Fantastic Four and Doctor Dog.
"I'm very happy to have signed this unique agreement with Moonscoop-Taffy Entertainment. The large range of products in this catalog demands the use of a variety of musical distribution and marketing tools which is by definition EMI Label One's field of expertise," EMI Label One director Fred Juarez said.
"We have very strong products in Europe, as in the U.S., and we will work closely with EMI Label One in order to make a complete success out of this partnership based on the existing catalog and on our future productions, such as 'Casper' for example," Moonscoop-Taffy co-president Benoit di Sabatino said.
