Bryan Cranston is one of the few remaining television stars of the old guard who has earned enough spots to be regarded with awe and veneration even among the new-age, streaming-era audience of modern television. Without his performance in Breaking Bad, the industry would have been a brittle thing of lesser significance.

However, the timelessness of the AMC series proves that it is not only the plot that builds a story, but the narrator himself, who breathes life into it, coloring it in his own image, and creating a masterpiece out of the words scripted on paper. Bryan Cranston gifted the 21st-century audience with Walter White and Hollywood is ever the better for it.

The unveilings continue for Peter Jackson's "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" with today's dwarf pictorial coming from Time Magazine.
Their photo shows the dwarf lords Balin (Ken Stott) and Dwalin (Graham McTavish), brothers who are close relatives and the "most loyal and trusted friends" of the Company's leader Thorin Oakshield.
Balin has fought many battles but harbors doubts about their quest, Dwalin has no such doubts and is a strong fighter with a distrust of all non-Dwarves - especially Elves.
Both Stott and McTavish are Scottish actors best known for their TV work but have had plenty of big screen experience as well.
Stott is mostly known for British police dramas such as taking over the title role in the detective series "Rebus" from "The Mummy" actor John Hannah in 2006 and 2007. Stott also scored much acclaim and an award nomination for his work as Di Chappell in ITV police...

David Thacker, artistic director of the Octagon theatre and the man who masterminded Corin Redgrave's return to the stage, remembers the actor, who died this week at the age of 70
I first saw Corin's work at a special event at the Liverpool Playhouse. Corin, Vanessa, their father Michael and their mother Rachel Kempson were performing a variety of extracts from Shakespeare's plays and some of their favourite sonnets. It made a huge impression on me for a number of reasons. Michael was seriously afflicted by Parkinson's disease, and had by this time very limited short-term memory. I shall never forget Vanessa and Corin standing next to him, feeding him lines which he then delivered with astonishing sensitivity. The "seven ages of man" speech from As You Like It was performed with a depth of understanding that was completely new to me. Corin's contribution to the evening was equally memorable.

Just in case you’re not aware, BBC America has other shows besides Doctor Who and Torchwood. Although those two are great, another drama is making some waves across the pond as well and that drama is Robin Hood. Its a fun program with lots of action, solid performances, interesting characters and humor which make it a great way to spend your time — especially if you’re looking for a break from a contemporary setting, sci-fi, time travel or monsters.
Apparently, I’m not the only Robin Hood fan out there because its been given a third season on the network. Here’s all the info from the official press release.
