Wolf plays doctor on CBS' 'Charlie'; 'Arrested' cuffs 3
CBS has ordered Rubbing Charlie, a half-hour, single-camera comedy pilot starring Scott Wolf from writer Tom Palmer and Big Ticket Television. On the pilot casting front, Jessica Walter, Will Arnett and Tony Hale have been added to the cast of the Fox comedy pilot Arrested Development. In Charlie, former Party of Five co-star Wolf will play the title role, a doctor who spends his time trying to help others but remains uncertain of what he wants out of his own life. The project has been in development for more than two years. A cast contingency was removed after Wolf signed on. Palmer (Murphy Brown, Living in Captivity) is represented by the Gersh Agency. Wolf is repped by UTA and Brillstein-Grey. 20th Century Fox TV/Imagine TV's Arrested centers on a wealthy Orange County, Calif., family (Portia de Rossi, Jason Bateman) that pulls together after their assets are frozen. Walter, best known as the obsessed fan in Play Misty for Me, will play Bateman's mother, while Arnett (The Mike O'Malley Show) will play his friend. Arnett is repped by Writers & Artists and Principato/Young Management.
