Barbara Crampton and Fabiana Udenio both had acting roles in the Re-Animator (1985) franchise. Crampton starred in the original film, while Udenio starred in Bride of Re-Animator (1990).
Literally the night before filming began, writer and director Bob Hoge received word that Rodney Dangerfield wanted a role in the film. Hoge was thrilled that a comedy legend like Dangerfield wanted to be in the movie, except that Hoge didn't have a part written for him. Hoge met Dangerfield the next night, then had to start shooting the movie right away because the crew was on the clock. Hoge scrambled to find a way to fit Dangerfield into the story, and would often times make up lines on the spot, whisper them to Dangerfield, and shout "Action!".
The second and (as of 2023) final film that Bob Hoge wrote and directed, following Marry Me or Die (1998).
Inspired by classic parody films such as Airplane! (1980), writer and director Bob Hoge wanted to create a film parody of The Godfather (1972) simply because it had never been done before. However, in the middle of production, Hoge and the crew got word that Paramount Pictures were filming Mafia! (1998), which also parodied the gangster masterpiece. Hoge admitted that he freaked out when learning about this other parody movie, but continued to film anyway.
