Vintage Art Toon.

The sixties were the great days of the Art Cartoon, Zabreb, Cinéastés, Boro, Lenica and the rest. This is an area which has been swamped by art school graduation pieces and now home digital but then an item

like this was an event.

In "A", Lenica man battles the giant letter in a monochrome, two dimensional, unchanging apartment decor. Companion to the other Ionescu piece RHINOSEROS.

This piece needs another three lines to be accepted by the system so I wish you and your families a Happy Xmas and a jolly New Year as well as many happy returns.

Lenica's RHINOCEROS--as I do not find it anywhere on IMDb and IMDb won't accept it as credit

Warning: Spoilers
Rhinoceros by Lenica is a surrealist cartoon, and a small masterpiece.

In '65 the Polish cartoonist lived, as far as I know, in France.

Leniča was a former collaborator of his more famous compatriot Borowczyk. To put it straight, his work is one for the elites; it's not usual popular cartoon ,but an elitist, refined, ingenious and innovative creation. These Polish were so good ;for an instructive comparison, think about poor Gopo, also active in the same '60s .

A barbarism was coined in relation to the original play THE RHINOCEROS—'_rhinocerization'. Sounds pretty nasty, no? Lenica's cartoon is a take on the gist of this great surrealist play.
