MIP: EM.TV, RTV in wide-ranging output deal
CANNES -- EM.TV has signed an extensive sales cooperation deal with fellow German kids television production firm RTV that gives EM.TV sales rights to all RTV product for most international territories outside of the United States and Western Europe, the two companies announced Monday at MIPTV. The deal comprises some 3,500 half-hours of animated programming, including newer titles such as Roboroach and Dragon Hunters alongside such German cartoon classics as Fix & Foxi and Urmel. Under the agreement, EM.TV will market RTV's catalog on an exclusive basis in all territories outside the U.S., the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy and Spain. In Germany, the companies said they will cooperate on a nonexclusive basis on specific titles. Both companies declined to comment on the financial details of the deal.
