Worlds are colliding: “Seinfeld” star Jason Alexander will guest this upcoming season on “The Conners,” making him the latest 1990s icon to appear on the “Roseanne” sequel series.
Alexander will appear in two episodes this season as “Pastor Phil,” described as “an unconventional cleric with a rebel past. He uses humor and unflinching honesty to spread the good word.” Viewers will be introduced to Pastor Phil when he’s a speaker at an AA meeting that Becky (Lecy Goranson) attends and Darlene (Sara Gilbert) joins in, looking for spiritual guidance.
Season 4 of “The Conners” premieres Wednesday, Sept. 22 at 9 p.m. on ABC. Besides Gilbert and Goranson, also back this season are John Goodman as Dan Conner, Laurie Metcalf as Jackie Harris, Michael Fishman as D.J. Conner, Emma Kenney as Harris Conner-Healy, Ames McNamara as Mark Conner-Healy, Jayden Rey as Mary Conner and Jay R. Ferguson as Ben.

We are getting a new Robin Hood movie next year from director Otto Bathurst and we finally have our first look! I like what I'm seeing in these first photos. It looks like we’ll have some fights inside the city walls as well as the love story of Robin and Maid Marion. Just looking at the pictures it seems we might be getting a heist film, a Jason Bourne film, and a love story revolving around a bow. I see how he looks at that thing. After all, this is Robin Hood, he's all about the heists!
According to the synopsis, Robin and Little John start a revolt against a corrupt English ruler. This sounds a little different from the story I remember hearing as a boy of Robin Hood where he just robbed from the rich to give to the poor. It makes sense though. The best way...

Take a guess at how many Lego’s it took to build this castle from World of Warcraft. If you guessed somewhere around the vicinity of 55 thousand then you were so, so close. It took 55,600 Lego bricks to put this thing together and quite honestly it looks absolutely awesome. The builder, Mark Erickson, stated that it took about 6 months to put this masterpiece together and it’s the largest display he’s built yet. Just looking at it and realizing that a grown man can fit inside the walls is enough to realize that this presentation is absolutely huge and

It’s a genuine Universal horror classic that to my knowledge has never been available in a decent presentation — but The Cohen Group has come through with a nigh-perfect Blu-ray, both image and sound. Karloff is creepy, Gloria Stuart lovely and Ernest Thesiger is at his most delightfully fruity. And the potato lobby should be pleased, too.

Major Spoilers for Spider-Man: Homecoming ahead!
Spider-Man: Homecoming does a great job of avoiding typical Spider-Man cliches we've seen over and over in the previous five films. Do we see Uncle Ben get shot? Nope! Is Peter Parker a photographer? Not yet, though he likes making personal, short films. Does the love interest get taken hostage by the main villain? Doesn't happen (thankfully)! Is Spider-Man considered a menace to New York? Not in this one. Losing these moments was certainly refreshing and one of the reasons Homecoming is so damn entertaining.
One cliche the film decided to drop, at the very end of the film, is Aunt May not knowing her nephew is Spider-Man. Her finding out in the very last scene was a clever move, one that leaves us craving to see what happens next, while bringing to mind Tony Stark's intentional reveal of his own identity as Iron Man...

How do you go about directing an episode of Doctor Who? We chat to Lawrence Gough, director of series 10's The Pilot and Smile to find out.
The first two episodes of the current Doctor Who run, The Pilot and Smile, were both directed by the same man. That man is Lawrence Gough, who comes to Doctor Who for the first time, having built up an impressive collection of TV credits following his low-budget horror feature, Salvage. In between the transmission of The Pilot and Smile, he chatted to us about his work on the show…
I’ve just been watching footage of you receiving a film award from Sean Connery back in 2009!
Yes! God, yes.
That was a Trailblazers award from the Edinburgh Film Festival eight years ago, and since then, you seem to have had quite a journey. Can you take us through it?

Eek! Kristi Yamaguchi tried lending her support to fellow professional ice skater Nancy Kerrigan earlier this week, but her poor choice of words caused a major stir on Twitter.
Yamaguchi, who won Dancing With the Stars in 2008, sent a tweet to current contestant Kerrigan, writing, “So excited for you @NancyAKerrigan! Can’t wait to see you grace that ballroom floor, break a leg! #DWTS.”
Kerrigan was famously clubbed in the right knee in 1994, forcing her to withdraw from the U.S. Championships. The incident was linked to fellow skater Tonya Harding and the footage of Kerrigan clutching her leg and crying out, “Why, why, why?” has become iconic in pop culture.
But Kerrigan herself didn’t seem concerned by Yamaguchi’s word choice, replying to the tweet, “Thank you so much Krisiti! I’m excited...

Dark Souls III may have offered up more of the franchise’s dark and eldritch horrors this year, but some people couldn’t quite help but feel like it paled in comparison to 2015’s critically acclaimed Bloodborne. For fans of that PS4-exclusive Souls spinoff, there’s some great news: the previously Japan-exclusive Official Artworks book is not only coming West, but it’s now available for pre-order on Amazon.
Just looking at the art direction of From Software’s gothic world, you’d be forgiven for forgetting that Bloodborne is a Japanese RPG; in a move that’s perhaps endeared the Souls series to Western audiences, the game trades in the usual spiky-haired anime characters and colorful landscapes for dark and dreary environments filled with horrifying Lovecraftian nightmares. The Official Artworks book naturally offers a look at the artists’ work — from concept to reality — on these visions of hell,...

Fear The Walking Dead recently concluded its second season with a phenomenal and ferocious two-episode finale that pulled no punches emotionally and physically. With season 2 officially in the books, Daily Dead had the chance to talk with showrunner / executive producer / writer Dave Erickson about the tragic end of one character's story arc, the altered relationships and mindsets of those who survived season 2, the potential return of familiar faces in season 3, and whether or not we'll see another companion web series like Flight 462 airing throughout The Walking Dead Season 7. *Spoiler warning for those who haven't finished watching Fear The Walking Dead Season 2.*

The marriage between Gordon and Donna Clark has been strained.
Gordon strayed beyond Donna when he was at his lowest, uncomprehending of his illness and incapable of sharing his feelings with the woman he loved.
Donna was busy taking Mutiny to dizzying new heights of success and being a wife and mother not only to her own family, but to an entire herd of coders and her partner, Cameron.
It wasn't the best of times for the Clarks.
But they found their way back to each other and are starting fresh in California. Still, things are rough. They're feeling their way through an entirely new life together.
Now it's their first holiday alone and they're ready to share it as they should. Out in the woods, in a tent with bent poles, grilling up their porterhouse steaks and probably complaining all the way.

A few years back, in the heady days of 2012, Luc Besson co-write, alongside directors Stephen S. Leger and James Mather, and took the executive producer role on Lock Out, a sci-fi actioner which saw Guy Pierce charged with rescuing the President’s daughter from a hi-tech space jail overrun by hardened criminals. Just looking at that brief synopsis, you may see what a lot of people saw, that it was Very similar to John Crapenter’s 1981 classic Escape from New York. One person who definitely thought so was Carpenter himself, who took Besson to court over the glaring similarities, and via Yahoo, we now have a verdict, with a Paris appeals court coming down in favour of Carpenter, ordering Besson to pay $500,000 after being found guilty of plagiarism. The basic premise of Lockout is indeed eerily similar to Escape from New York, and to a lesser extent it’s sequel Escape from L.A.,...

We tend to get used to the structure of crime based shows, they follow certain rules. With Murder: The Complete Series this is turned on its head by providing the stories in a documentary style, based on interviews after the case has finished. You’ll probably expect there to be a few twists, which of course there are many.
Featuring not only the series itself, but also Murder: Joint Enterprise we meet characters connected to the murders and they set their case. This can be family of the murdered person, witnesses or the accused person themselves, all ready to give their information over to us. We then have to decide exactly what has happened and who is the real culprit.

Death Note is one of those adaptations that could go seriously wrong, considering how PG-13 friendly the business is, as opposed to the material . which is very much R-rated. Thankfully, the powers that be at Warner Bros have seen the light of Deadpool's success and decided to keep the film in darker, more mature territory. The news came from Death Note producer Roy Lee, as he spoke with Collider at this year's Dice Summit in Las Vegas. Lee informed their man on the ground that the following conditions are being set for Adam Wingard's film adaptation: It.s definitely for adults. It is zero chance it will be below an R-rating. [It] will be one of the first manga adaptations that feels very grounded but still has fantastical elements. Just looking at Death Note's source material alone should tell you that the film needs to be a hard R-rated film.

Film festivals are truly a wonderful thing. Be it the globe’s biggest festivals like Cannes or the recently-concluded Sundance Film Festival, or the smallest of the small, festivals across the planet are bringing together film fans from all walks of life, to see pictures ranging from Oscar nominated dramas like Embrace of the Serpent to the experimental art installation The Sky Trembles. Just looking at this year’s Portland International Film Festival lineup, films range from the final documentary from Albert Maysles, In Transit, to the Palme d’Or winning Deehpan. And then there are even smaller pictures, like the newest film from experimental filmmaker Soon-mi Yoo, Songs From The North.
The type of meditative documentary that makes its biggest mark on the festival circuit, where itself has been floating around since 2014, Yoo’s film takes a look at modern Korean identity, a topic that she has attempted to...

Oh yes she did. Ayesha Curry, the 26-year-old wife of NBA star Stephen Curry and mother of their two daughters, took to Twitter on Saturday night to unleash the mother of all rants about women's fashion. "Everyone's into barely wearing clothes these days huh? Not my style," she tweeted. "I like to keep the good stuff covered up for the one who matters." "Just looking at the latest fashion trends," she added. "I'll take classy over trendy any day of the week. #saturdaynightinsight." Many people were not amused and some accused her of slut-shaming. Others defended her and some agreed with what she said. Chrissy Teigen said it...

The Big Bang Theory season 9 finally pulls it out of the bag with this episode, an emotionally satisfying love-letter to fandom...
This review contains spoilers.
9.7 The Spock Resonance
Say what you will about The Big Bang Theory, Lord knows I have over the last couple of seasons, but when it can deliver an episode like The Spock Resonance after nine years and a weaker than normal season, you have to give it some credit. Few television series and even fewer sitcoms can really do what this episode did, effortlessly cashing in on years and years of built-up emotion and compassion for its characters and, while all is not forgiven, it's definitely earned a little grace period.
Since Sheldon and Amy broke up, the season has veered wildly between tedious inconsequence and unnecessary morosity. It didn't really click until this week, however, that one of the things that...

Kim Kardashian West is remembering a very special evening for Throwback Thursday.
The star posted photos from two years ago, when then-boyfriend Kanye West popped the question at San Francisco's At&T Park, which he rented out for the occasion.
One photo shows the couple kissing beneath a huge ballpark screen, which displayed the words "Pleeease Marry Meee!!!!" as an orchestra played.

Netflix is a part of our every day lives. Bored and need something to do? Netflix. Feel like catching up on a movie you never got around to seeing earlier? Netflix. Have a free weekend to binge on a whole season of something or other? Netflix. Just looking for a chill night on the couch? Netflix. I'm pretty sure there are some severe illnesses that could be cured by Netflix at this point.... Read More...

Kelly Clarkson can make anything sound good! The "Stronger" singer stopped by "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on Tuesday, where she showed off her impressive singing chops while performing songs made up from various Tinder profiles. Check out the hilarious video above! The mother-of-one looked gorgeous while performing some of Tinder's most ridiculous bios. We've gotta hand it to the Grammy Award-winning songstress, she honestly made some of these users' strange profiles actually sound attractive. "Just looking for someone to take me to a Céline Dion concert," she sang, while reading 29-year-old Daniele's profile. "I'm 5-foot-9." "I have a foot fetish and willing to pay for your mani pedi nails and worship your feet," Kelly belted, while reciting 32-year-old Alvin's bio. The "American Idol" alum isn't the only vocalist who showed off their singing chops on "Jimmy Kimmel" this week. On Monday, Josh Groban hilariously performed tracks to some of Donald Trump's meanest tweets.

Kelly Clarkson put her award-winning vocal prowess to great use on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on Tuesday night.
The three-time Grammy winner sang user bio bits from dating app Tinder.
Complete with a piano player and three background singers, Kelly kicked off her performance by singing the profile of Daniele, 29.

Jamie Foxx brought the romance of Tinder to the spotlight earlier this year on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and now Kelly Clarkson is reminding you why love isn't dead after all. Appearing on the late-night talk show Tuesday, the three-time Grammy Award winner gave a few Tinder profiles some pizazz by singing the heck out of people's bios. Kelly somehow made the content sound somewhat appealing...kind of. But just like Josh Groban's angelic voice singing Donald Trump's tweets, Kelly absolutely nailed Tinder. She began with 29-year-old Daniele. Known for her emotional slow songs, Kelly gave Daniele's profile her best attempt at a ballad. "Just looking for someone to take me to a Céline Dion...

Hands down, this is the best comic-book-movie news of the year. Tom Hardy has got to be thinking about how the rest of his career looks. There's no question that he'll have one. He's a remarkable actor. He's had an uneasy relationship with the press, but he's not the first nor the last talented performer to feel that way. I honestly don't care if he gives interviews or doesn't as long as he continues picking strong filmmakers to collaborate with and keeps giving smart, challenging performances. Just looking at his two recent "spends most of the film in a car" movies, "Locke" and "Mad Max: Fury Road," it's obvious that Hardy's not going to get easily pigeonholed. He's too interesting, too willing to bend or break his own public image for the sake of his own entertainment. The idea of him producing as well as acting now makes me doubly...

There are few movie forms more stagnant than the biopic. I am not a fan for the most part, and it takes something special to knock me out of that mindset. While "Straight Outta Compton" plays by the rules for the most part, the film has a great cast and an undeniable energy that drew me in, and considering we're talking about events from a quarter-century ago, there is a surprisingly urgent undertone to the entire enterprise that reminds us that we have not made as much progress as we'd like to think as a culture. Screenwriter Andrea Berloff made her feature debut nine years ago with "World Trade Center," and she hasn't had a produced credit since. She had an impossible job here, trying to boil down the rise and fall of an iconic band to a mere 142 minutes. Jonathan Herman is co-credited for the script, with S. Leigh Savidge...

There are plenty of rumours about why the Elimination Chamber has been removed from the normal pay-per-view list, but it did not stay away long. WWE: Elimination Chamber 2015 became a WWE Network special but here in the UK we also get a DVD release. Read on for my thoughts…
The timing of the Elimination chamber event was interesting. It is important to look at where this came in the evolution of WWE, and that is when things were starting to change for the better. Nxt is paying off as a place of development and integration of new Superstars and some impressive talent coming through; this showed a lot in WWE: Elimination Chamber 2015. Just looking at John Cena vs. Kevin Owens proved this.

Heathers, John Hughes, Back To The Future, Nora Ephron, Coming To America and more, as we chat 80s movies with Hadley Freeman...
Hadley Freeman's latest book has harnessed her love of 80s movies, and gone into detail about just why they work so well. Entitled Life Moves Pretty Fast, you won't be surprised to hear that Ferris Bueller's Day Off features in there. But then so does Dirty Dancing, Top Gun, Ghostbusters, Back To The Future and Eddie Murphy.
So what makes 80s movies so special? That seemed a logical place to start, as we caught up with Hadley for a chat...
Can I start by throwing a paraphrased movie quote at you? That line in The Truman Show about accepting the reality with which we're presented? At what point did you come to accept and realise that the movies of the 80s were so special to you? As you grew up with them,...

“It’s only a name. Quite an easy burden to bear.”
Let’s start with a temple. Its priests have no names, its god has no prayers, and the house jam is Mandel and Altman’s “Suicide Is Painless” on endless repeat. The High Sparrow is a paranoid, spine-tingling, and grotesquely enjoyable episode of television in which identities are bought, sold, and tossed in the river while matters of the flesh and the spirit are debated, er, forcefully.
“To serve well,” says the assassin formerly known as Jaqen H’ghar, “a girl must become no one.” When Arya asks him which of the House of Black and White’s many statues is the many-faced god, he replies that she already knows the truth of the matter: there is only one god, and that god is Death. Clive Standen, the actor behind Vikings' Rollo, talks to us about Norse mythology, fight scenes, and historical accuracy in drama...
The History Channel's hit show Vikings, finishing up its third season and already looking to its fourth, tells the story of the first contact between the Northmen and the Christians of Western Europe. The series focuses heavily on King Ragnar Lothbrok, his (ex-)wife Lagertha, and brother and sometimes rival Rollo as they fight their way to power and across western Europe. Clive Standen, who portrays Rollo, talks with Den of Geek about Norse mythology, the pointlessness of sex and violence on-screen, and sibling rivalry on an epic scale.
I wanted to thank you for taking the time to talk to us. And congrats for what is shaping up to be a really great season.
Thank you, yeah. It’s taken everything out of us, filming this season.

When characters from children’s television shows are translated onto the silver screen sometimes the results aren’t exactly positive. Paddington is one of the movies where I would admit I was cynical and didn’t expect much, especially because of the age of the actual show. Then a little magical viral madness took over and the spectacle of the “Scary Paddington” took over and it was perfect to get the bear noticed, showing how awesome the internet can be. The fact is even without the crazy internet people, Paddington turned into something surprising and very charming.

It seems that the older you get, the harder it is to make friends. In your youngest years, friends would be made for you through playdates. As you hit middle school and high school, everyone is always looking for a new friend. The same is true with all the people that are met in college or a first job setting. After that, as a grown adult, it’s slim pickings. But, for the characters in The Overnight, all it takes is a chance encounter in a park for a wonderful friendship to emerge (or so it would seem).
Alex (Adam Scott) and Emily (Taylor Schilling) are new to La, having moved from Seattle with their toddler son. Alex is concerned they won’t have any friends in their new neighborhood, but after their son starts playing with another boy, his father Kurt (Jason Schwartzman) insists they come to dinner that night.
