This show is the strongest on Canadian Television in recent years. The characters are believable, the interwoven plots are full of suspense, and the acting is outstanding. There is no way this show would last on American television, but here it should remain on for sometime. If you get Canadian television you don't want to miss this show.

This show wouldn't have lasted one season on American television, not because it is different than most prime time soaps because it is serious, but because it is so diverse. I was disappointed that it was cancelled after only two seasons considering the great potential that existed for the further development of not only the main characters from the second season, but also of the minor characters from the first season which were all but written out of a few episodes in the second season. Most disappointing was the sudden disappearance of their son Strachen (played by Matthew Lemche) who only appeared in a limited number of episodes, the season premiere and two near and in the finale. Also, I thought there was great potential for the development of the characters of Angie (played by Robin Brule) and Tyrone who appeared in maybe two episodes this season. They seemed to take all the edge out of the second season and turned it into a typical prime time soap which was most likely it's demise. But if you get a chance to watch it on CTV, please do, especially the first season because it is a wonderful show.
