Based on director Nate Thomas's 10 years of experience working as a counselor at the Florence Crittenton Center, a group home for pregnant teens in Los Angeles. Actor Tim Russ, from "Star Trek: Voyager" fame, financed the bulk of movie and plays a role autobiographical of his close friend Thomas.
