Goofs

During the opening number of the pageant, Michelle Johnson is wearing a "Hollywood" hat; near the end, she can be seen standing behind Amber Atkins with no hat at all.

In the beginning of the pageant you can see Lisa Swenson wearing a hat with "Lady Liberty", but when Amber Atkins starts talking to the crowd, you can see Lisa in the background wearing no hat anymore.

When Becky visits Mary at the hospital, Amber is combing her hair and a chunk falls out. Amber places the chunk back on Mary's crown. When Becky enters, Mary is suddenly wearing a tiara and the chunk of hair is hanging in front of her nightgown. There wouldn't have been time for Amber to have picked up the tiara from the dresser and fixed her hair.

Harold rips John's clip-on tie off. He also pops the third button down on his shirt. The camera cuts away and quickly pans back to John where the shirt is mysteriously re-buttoned.

At the end of Amber's tap act, she pulls off her hat to show hair that had been smashed under the hat falling around her face. When we see her again, her hair is neat and tidy, in loose curls.

The opening claims that "1995 Marked (sic) the fiftieth anniversary of the nation's oldest beauty contest..." The "Miss America Pageant" has been ongoing since 1921.

The explosion seen on the video camera is seen directly in front of the camera, yet the large piece of debris that falls center screen comes at a diagonal angle from the right.

On the opening credits of the Region 1 DVD, the words read "...a documentary film crew film was sent to Mountrose Minnesota...." - it should obviously read "a documentary film crew was sent..."

A 1998 Lincoln Town Car Limousine is at a hotel, but the movie takes place in 1995.

When one of the contestants acts the monologue inspired by Soylent Green (1973), she says that the story occurs in 2024, the actual date in the movie is 2022.

When at the home of Becky Leeman, her father Lester is showing the film crew his wine holding globe when he states that a tape deck comes out of Afghanistan while he is pointing below the equator. Afghanistan is found far above the equator.
