Jim Carrey scored a huge hit with The Mask, yet the comic books leave the door open for more films. Here's why they could work...
In some ways, 1994's The Mask was ahead of its time. Sure, when we try to pick out the greatest comic-book adaptations today, we're spoilt for choice: with Marvel entering the third phase of their cinematic universe, transforming formerly obscure characters into mainstream icons, and DC's Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice ready to kick their movies up into a higher gear, the list of adaptations looks set to grow and grow.
Still, movies based on comic books remain largely superhero-centric, which is a shame considering the huge range of fantastic titles out there deserving of a larger audience. Just over 20 years ago, particularly in the UK, comic books and their respective characters were generally seen as childish, goofy, for nerds only – and the lack...

The CW has unveiled an extended three-minute trailer dubbed "Arrow: The Movie" which actually just shows off the scope of this week's game-changing episode 'The Promise'.
Slade Wilson (aka. Deathstroke) has announced his arrival in Edge City. Now the confrontation is on between former allies turned enemies. Scenes from both already aired episodes and next week's 'Suicide Squad' are also cut in to add more context.
Executive Producer Marc Guggenheim says the episode is "the biggest episode we’ve ever done on the show. It makes the season finale last year look like a student film from the 1980s." One such challenge was recreating the entire deck and bridge of a freighter just for this episode.

Here at The Film Stage, we strive to bring the most current, accurate information about new emerging or releasing projects in the cinematic world. Often, the support you the viewer then show to a film your interested in is to pass on these news stories, which spreads awareness, or to hopefully see them in their opening weekend, so their box office numbers can warrant a wider release. But wouldn’t it be nice if you could make a deeper impact.
