Opening credits show a woman's hand stamping the papers bearing each cast & crew's names with "A POINTÉ" ("has punched in") inside an oval stamp bearing the mention "Commune de Clochemerle" (community of Clochemerle) all around. This is because the French title is "Le chômeur de Clochemerle" (The Unemployed of Clochemerle) and, to receive unemployment benefits, the applicant showed up and his papers were stamped to reflect that they had punched in. Without this stamp of verification, they couldn't collect benefits. The funny "crazy credits" thus make a "chômeur" (one who is actively unemployed and collects benefits) out of every cast & crew member.
