Great flick with NFL players
Gotribe314 August 2005
Haven't seen this movie in many, many years, but I loved it when I was a kid. Anyone out there have access to a copy? I am pretty sure the name of the movie was actually Masters of the Gridiron, not Warriors of the Gridiron. Basically a bunch of old Bronwns beat up on rival "clans" with other NFL team names, starring Mike Baab as the head of the Browns. I actually got to play in the castle where this movie was filmed when I was younger. Filmed locally in the greater Cleveland, Ohio area. Lots of broadswords being swung around, and plenty of cheesy, funny lines to go around as well. Not to mention it is always fun to see professional football players act. The guys don't take themselves too seriously, and really seemed to have a good time making the film. Highly recommended, especially if you are a Cleveland Browns fan!

Best movie ever.

First of all, Mr. Plot Outline, it's the "Clan Modella," not the "Brown Clan." And second of all, you forgot to mention how this is probably the best movie ever. Of course, by "best" I mean "worst." And I am a Browns fan.

I would detail the plot here, but it's really kind of pointless. It doesn't make any sense, and you can't find this movie anywhere anyway (though I *do* have an MPG copy). If you ever get a chance, though, call up Hanford Dixon on the Browns' post-game show and ask him what the heck he was thinking when he signed up to play "Dixonus."

If you do get a chance to see it, look for things like: the guy running across the bridge in tennis shoes (all the others are in bearskin boots or something); the boxers in the background while Mike Baab -- I'm sorry, Baabarian -- is wrestling the bear; the USFL joke, the part where Baab gets bored waiting for the samurai to finish his spiel and is leaning casually on his sword; the inexplicable telegram from the Bears . . . . I could go on all day. It's really a fantastic movie. I can't recommend it highly enough.

From the hills of linebacka

Ha I searched this film just out of curiosity and love thats it is listed here. A must for all Browns fans and funny as all for anyone to enjoy. I have a copy still and watch it every once in a while for old times sake. The music sound track slash music video is one of the best parts. The only other part that might rival that is the changing of the names....Nikoli. From the hills of linebacka. I know they were professional football players but the acting skills are arguably equal to most Shakespearian plays. And adding Tinny Tim to play the commissioner added to the overall seriousness in which the players took their roles. Having talked to one of the films stars once, I asked him how he looks back on this film. His response was simple, the most important role in his acting career. But in all seriousness a fun family film with comedy and music videos for all to enjoy.

A Marvel of Cinema

The Beautiful writing and acting steals the show. Wish that Nick Saban had made an appearance but much better than the other Super Bowl shuffle immitation. Must watch for all football fans of the era. Mike Baab also can do Cool and skilled stuff with his swords.
