Wartime Drive
Two dogs fight over bones in this World War Two Cartoon.
It may be hard for the modern viewer to understand the context: during the War, not only was there rationing; there were scrap drives for old rubber, tin, metal and other materials in short supply, needed for recycling -- ere;'s the modern link -- for war goods. In this cartoon, there's a drive for old bones. The main character, a nondescript mutt that looks like Pluto Pup, wants to keep his bones. The patriotic bulldog wants to dig them up and add them to the drive.
With that as an excuse, there are gags aplenty as these two face off. The gags are pretty good.
