In a development that feels more inevitable than surprising, Matt Damon and Paul Greengrass are in talks to get back into the Bourne business. The two had sent mixed messages over the years, ever since Jason Bourne disappeared in the murky East River at the end of The Bourne Ultimatum in 2007, with the major roadblock being Damon’s insistence that a reluctant Greenglass direct, while Universal handed the franchise over to writer-turned-director Tony Gilroy. But with Gilroy’s Bourne Legacy, starring Jeremy Renner, failing to live up to the original three Bourne films at the box office, and Damon’s recent non-Bourne projects,...

R.L. Stine alerted his Twitter followers yesterday that, beginning next Monday shooting will finally begin on the Goosebumps feature film. The author of the popular spooky young adult novels is excited, of course, because Jack Black is literally playing Stine in this Columbia Pictures production. Rob Letterman is directing and Dylan Minnette and Odeya Rush co-star. It's not entirely clear who will be receiving writing credit when the movie ultimately comes out on March 23, 2016 but we know that Jack the Giant Slayer's Darren Lemke, Ed Wood's Larry Karaszewski and Scott Alexander and The Last House on the Left's Carl Ellsworth all took a turn at the script.

In an interview with Vulture, Bill Murray confirmed that he will be appearing in director Wes Anderson’s upcoming The Grand Budapest Hotel by saying he was, ”about to go shoot a movie with Wes Anderson in Germany.” Also confirmed as cast members for the film are Jude Law and Johnny Depp, who appeared with Murray in Tim Burton’s 1994 film Ed Wood.
Of course, these days, the news that Bill Murray will be involved in a Wes Anderson movie is only slightly more surprising than news that confirms Wes Anderson will be involved in a Wes Anderson movie: Murray has appeared in 6 of the 7 films that Anderson has directed since his 1996 debut, Bottle Rocket (the only one not to feature Murray).
These days, Murray seems to make the news more for the roles that he won’t take, like that of Dr. Peter Venkman in Ghostbusters 3, which may now be turned into a remake.

Well, it's officially official: Tim Burton is making a stop-motion film based on The Addams Family. Excited? Maybe? Just a little bit? We had heard some murmurings regarding a Burton-directed Addams Family movie awhile back, and now Deadline reports the filmmaker has reunited with writers Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski (Ed Wood) on what will be a stop-motion film based on the kooky family who first appeared in single-panel cartoons back in the '30s. There were two somewhat successful live-action Addams Family movies back in the early '90s, and of course there was the popular television show from the '60s. Burton, however, will most likely inject more spooky vibes into his film versus the previous incarnations, and while I'm of the opinion that the guy is losing fans because he...

Let’s pretend for a moment that you, an FM reader, are a fan of classic movie monsters. You know, stuff like Dracula, the Creature from the Black Lagoon, the Wolfman, Frankenstein’s Monster, etc.
Got it? Ok, good. Just stay with me here.
Now let’s also pretend that you’re a fan of horror films like those that featured, I don’t know, the monsters I mentioned above.
Wow, you’re really good at this game!
Now that you’re all good and hyped up, prepare yourself for an additional dose of excitement if you also happen to be a fan of comic books. Sometime in September, Monsterverse will be releasing a comic anthology entitled Tales from the Grave. Bela Lugosi (do I really need to tell you who he is? I mean, seriously) will be taking on hosting duties for the horror romp.
