It was announced in January that the beloved animated show was returning for 40 episodes, with co-creator Dan Povenmire spearheading the revival. Marsh will now serve as executive producer and voice director on the new episodes.
“Swampy is one of the brightest creators in animation and among his many passions is connecting and collaborating with creative people, whether it’s through writing, animation design, directing, music or acting,” said Meredith Roberts, executive vice president of Television Animation at Disney Branded Television. “He continually elevates their artistry, as well as his own, to tell the bigger and more entertaining stories for global audiences. Prolific animation writer-producer Nicole Dubuc will receive the WGA West’s 2018 Animation Writers Caucus Animation Writing Award tonight at the annual Awc awards ceremony at the guild’s headquarters in Los Angeles.
Dubuc, who’s been nominated for seven daytime Emmys for writing and producing children’s animation shows, currently serves as the showrunner of the upcoming Disney Junior series The Rocketeer.
The award is presented to caucus members who have advanced the literature of animation in film and television throughout the years and made outstanding contributions to the profession of the animation writer.
“Nicole Dubuc has accomplished more in her time as an animation writer than most of us do in careers that are twice as long,” said WGA West president David A. Goodman. “She has crossed genres, busted barriers, and broken through ceilings not only as a writer, but also as a showrunner, an actress, and a labor leader.

From Bananaman to Grange Hill, join us in a spot of TV nostalgia as we celebrate 50 great 1980s kids' TV theme songs...
There comes a time to turn away from the horrors of the world and retreat underneath the soft, comforting duvet of nostalgia. That time is Friday. That metaphorical duvet is below.
Here are fifty of the best kids’ TV theme songs (spread over two pages and in arbitrary order) of the 1980s. Some, like Alan Hawkshaw’s distinctive Grange Hill intro, are unarguable classics of the era, while others, like Mike Harding's Count Duckula, only started in the late-eighties and spent the rest of their run in the next decade.
Obviously, there being only 50 on this list, we may have missed out your favourite (deliberately or otherwise). Let us know if so, but remember that links may take a while to appear in the comments thread because...

Cast your minds back to 2002 - a time when Pop Idols didn't need to have The X Factor, Fifty Shades of Grey were just colours on a paint sampler chart and David Beckham was a mere international superstar rather than global megastar.

Pat Clifton, the humble and dedicated postman who's been the star of his own TV series for more than 30 years, gets his moment to shine on the big screen with the release of Postman Pat: The Movie.
Forget the quaint and low-key adventures of yesteryear, though, this film translation is a multicoloured 3D animation that turns its protagonist into a Paul Potts-type singing sensation via a reality TV show. Unfortunately, much of the parochial charm is lost in a film that lacks the visual and storytelling sophistication of superior toon fare.
If only Aardman was in charge of pulling the strings, Pat and his loyal feline sidekick Jess could have been like Wallace and Gromit for a new generation. As it stands, the...

★☆☆☆☆After more than three decades entertaining children on TV, Postman Pat makes the transition to the big-screen in Postman Pat: The Movie (2014). The result is a lacklustre offering that comes as a far cry to the charming stop-motion TV series fostered by original creators John Cunliffe and Ivor Wood. Desperate to treat his loyal wife to a romantic holiday, Pat (Stephen Mangan) is forced to enter an X Factor-style talent competition when his bonus is scrapped. An overnight sensation, Pat is whisked away to London, where he immediately settles into his newfound celebrity status, leaving Carbunkle (Peter Woodward) - the postal service's evil new recruit - to replace him with hundreds of automatons.

The new Postman Pat (as heard in Postman Pat: The Movie, due in cinemas this Friday) has two voices. When he's singing, he magically switched to Ronan Keating. When he's not? He's Stephen Mangan. And the day after the film's premiere, we had a chat with the man himself...
You're Postman Pat.
I know! Can you believe it?
It's a surreal thing to have that claim. There are fewer Postman Pats in the world than there are James Bonds.
That's true, I hadn't thought of that. You make a very good point!
Ken Barrie was the original Postman Pat of course.
That's right.
A friend of mine met him outside a pub once, and in everyday conversation he sounded nothing like him. But in a second, he switched that famous voice on.

After spending more than three decades on the small screen, everyone’s favourite postman is about to get his big-screen debut this spring in Postman Pat: The Movie.
The animated feature will be hitting UK cinemas in the spring, and Lionsgate have launched the first trailer to give us an idea of the family-friendly adventure coming our way soon.
Postman Pat: The Movie finds Pat, everyone’s favourite postman, coming face-to-face with the temptations of money, status and a shiny new suit when he enters a national TV talent show competition that threatens to tear him away from his hometown of Greendale and the friends he loves. What happens when kindness meets selfishness? When local fame meets global notoriety? A nice cup of tea is kicked aside by a frappacappucino? Pat is set to find out as he falls for the age old temptation of the grass being greener…

The new Postman Pat movie promises many things: a 3D gallivant around Greendale, Ronan Keating's singing, that black and white cat and a terror strike on Greendale, the last possibly a figment of our feverish imagination. Here's the trailer for you and your wee' uns to watch. brightcove.createExperiences(); If you've got nippers, you'll be familiar with the new CG Pat. It's a world away from Ivor Wood's charmingly stop-motioned postie who got a 13-episode run back in 1981 and used it to negotiate that tiny humpback bridge and distribute Greendale's mail with unflappable good cheer. Gone are the days when Pat (Stephen Mangan) would spent a whole episode keeping his birthday a secret. Now the mailman inhabits an expanded universe filled with disappearing bears, UFOs and Unstoppable-style train chaos. Worse, there's a Simon Cowell figure to appall anyone with a soul. Pat also has a much wider cast of characters to mingle with,...

We think it's entirely possible that someone enhanced Scarlett's powers for this publicity image for Marvel's The Avengers.
Esquire Magazine, the self-described publication about ‘Beautiful Women, Men’s Fashion, Best Music and Drink Recipes,’ has declared that R&B singer Rihanna is the ‘Sexiest Woman Alive.’
We’ve never had the privilege of meeting Ms. R. and wouldn’t presume to comment on her personality but we will admit that her well cultivated image as an attractive singer is appealing. Quite what she looks like after a day weeding is another matter.
In general, however, we reckon these kinds of polls are nonsense. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Nonetheless, we can’t let this one go by without offering a nod to some of the women in film and TV whom we think should challenge Rihanna for her new title.
Strangely, our five suggestions don’t appear...

A First-class cast has been assembled to bring the adventures of children's favourite Postman Pat to the big screen.
Stephen Mangan will voice the character in Postman Pat: The Movie - You Know You're the One, alongside contributions from Harry Potter star Rupert Grint, former Doctor Who David Tennant and Oscar-winner Jim Broadbent.
The 3D animated film will show Pat tempted away from his hometown of Greendale and his cat Jess by the bright lights of fame after he enters a television talent show.
Mangan (pictured right) said: "I'm absolutely thrilled to be playing the world's best-known postman in his big screen debut - he's an iconic British hero and it's a great script. However when I excitedly told my three-year-old son that I was going to be Postman Pat, he said, 'No you're not, dad, don't be silly'."
Rupert Grint added: "I used to watch Postman Pat when I was a small boy.

As Postman Pat turns 30, he and Jess are making a move to the big screen. But what explains the television postman's enduring appeal?
It's 30 years today since Postman Pat delivered his first letter – and now the animated children's television show is graduating to the big screen as Pat and his black and white cat Jess star in their own animated film.
Pat will be voiced by Episodes and Green Wing actor Stephen Mangan, while the cast also includes Jim Broadbent, Rupert Grint and David Tennant. Rather than just several hours of letter delivery, the storyline will focus on what happens when Pat enters a TV talent show that threatens to tear him away from village life in Greendale.

Everybody knows his bright red van, but for those who've not seen it for a while, fear not! Postman Pat will be knocking and ringing at a cinema near you, one day, possibly, in a new CGI 3D extravaganza (3D being obviously entirely necessary to depict those letters coming right atcha through the letterbox). We wouldn't usually trust the Mirror for movie news, but this story does appear to have come from an actual source. Andrew Kerr from production company Classic Media Entertainment ("making great films happen", it says on their website, although they seem to have previously been all about documentaries) says the story involves Pat discovering he can sing and finding overnight Susan Boyle-type fame on a Britain's Got Talent-type contest. There's a Simon Cowell-type character involved, and a Wallace and Gromit-type sub-plot for Jess the black and white cat, about a mysterious rival postie.

LONDON -- Entertainment Rights said Monday that it has won a re-commission by the BBC of its animated Postman Pat franchise even before the first of the new episodes of the children's television series has begun airing on the U.K. broadcaster. Postman Pat first aired in 1981, but a year ago Entertainment Rights -- after a re-commission by the BBC -- began making 26 new episodes that are set to air this autumn on BBC2. When the BBC saw the first episodes in the new series, they signed up for another 26 episodes. "I think the stories about helping and community and feeling safe are perhaps more relevant than ever," Entertainment Rights CEO Jane Smith said in an interview. "This is a brand that is very trusted by parents and by the BBC." Entertainment Rights is making the new Postman Pat series in association with Manchester-based animation specialist Cosgrove Hall Films. "With the re-commission we are much better positioned for the U.S. market, and we will be starting conversations with the U.S. broadcasters in the autumn," Smith said.
