Sex & Nudity

  • A scene takes place in the rain and Mary Jane is wearing a shirt that's soaked and her nipples poke through her shirt.
  • Mary Jane's cleavage is visible almost throughout her scenes.
  • Jameson talks about getting a picture of Julia Roberts in a thong.
  • Scene in the ring: Plenty of woman dressed revealing. After Peter wins and goes to get paid, behind the guy there is a wall with a lot of pornographic women's photos.
  • Girls at the high school wear tight clothes, short skirts, exposed backs, midriffs. etc.
  • Norman Osborn is seen without his shirt on.
  • Kirsten Dunst and Tobey Maguire have a passionate upside-down kiss(tongues visible) in the rain. The scene takes place in the rain and Mary Jane is wearing a top that's soaked and her nipples poke through her top. The kissing is very intense as Mary Jane and Spider-Man are seen sucking each other's lips and tongue throughout the kiss scene.
  • During the wrestling scene, women are shown several times in either swimsuits or bras.

Violence & Gore

  • In the final fight scene, The Goblin throws a pumpkin bomb toward Spiderman, we see how his face and his body are violently damaged from the blast, we can also see some blood content over his battle damaged suit.
  • Scientist is thrown out a glass chamber no blood or gore he's depicted dead.
  • Peter's first time swinging from a web, he ends up hitting a wall full force, played for laughs.
  • Peter gets a bit of his blood drawn from getting bitten by a Radioactive Spider which leaves him with a big bite mark on his hand. The close-up shot of the escaped Arachnid when it comes down, crawling on Peter's hand and finally giving him the bite shows the spider's front view.
  • A man experiments on himself with an enhancing chemical vapor, after that he proceeds to go insane and throw a colleague through a glass window to his death, then he jumps toward him.
  • A man is shot and killed (offscreen) and we see him with a brief bloody wound in his chest.
  • A man's wrist is broken and he falls backwards out of a window implying that he dies.
  • The Green Goblin flying his glider shoots a missile at man in a spacecraft which explodes and kills him. In the same scene, the character on the glider shoots two men from outside a structure which explodes and kills them also.
  • Green Goblin kills some people by throwing a pumpkin bomb at them which turns them into skeletons. The Green Goblin then stops to threaten Mary Jane, but Spider-Man arrives to stop him. The resulting fight involves hand-to-hand combat and machinegun shots from the Goblin's glider.
  • The final fight between Spider-Man and the Goblin is very violent.
  • A man is cut with a throwing object which causes him to bleed a bit.
  • Green Goblin's glider attacks two people at different times by firing and crashing through the windows behind them, causing one to have a trauma attack. Some blood is on her face.
  • Spider-Man is having a fight to the death with the Green Goblin during the film's climax, the battle between them is very brutal; we can hear the sounds of Spider-Man's punches landing through the Green Goblin's helmet and armour.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Norman uses performance enhancers near the beginning of the movie
  • J. Jonah Jameson smokes a cigar in some of the scenes he's in.
  • Norman drinks a glass of whisky.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A character convulses violently while being propped up by a machine. This could be disturbing for some viewers.
  • There is a sudden unexpected jump scare as Willem Dafoe's character quickly flashes on the screen (with a loud, ear-piercing sound) while he is trying to remember how he got to his current location.
  • After being attacked, May is yelling in the hospital that she saw very big scary yellow eyes, this moment can be some disturbing. The last fight scene of Spidey and The Goblin is very intense and violent.

Violence & Gore

  • When the Green Goblin attempts to go in for a stealthy kill against Spider-Man with his glider, the Spidey-sense kicks in to evade the glider that is charging towards him, which the glider misses but instead accidentally pierces the Green Goblin in the joint, the impalement fatality causes his own blood to come out of his mouth before and after he dies.
  • During the last fight between Spider-Man and the Green Goblin. The Green Goblin accidentally impales himself with his glider.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Peter finds Uncle Ben shot. He holds his hand while he slowly dies as he lets go. One of the most memorable death scenes in cinema history.
  • During the burning building scene, Spider-Man tries to save a hooded victim. When he gets close, the victim quickly turns to reveal Green Goblin under the hood.
  • There is a jump scare of green goblin.
  • In a scene where Harry embraces his father for a hug after a brief argument the scene quickly changes to a Green Goblin jumpscare. VERY unexpected and terrifying.
