Among scripted shows, Marvel’s Disney+ limited series “WandaVision” was the biggest nominee with six bids including Best Show. Street Fighter V first arrived in early 2016 and what started as a barely-playable disaster with a scant roster of 16 has been improved to become one of the best fighting games currently on the market. And in June, Capcom held a special live stream to promote what will be its fifth and final season of downloadable content for the game. When all is said and done, Street Fighter V: Champion Edition will have 45 fighters, the most in any Street Fighter game.
Oddly enough, the stream did not include any trailers. Even still, there was plenty of news about the next year-plus of Street Fighter V.
For the quick version, here’s the Season 5 Roadmap:
There are five new characters coming in the last batch of Dlc, with the last one still a mystery. Let’s take a deeper look at the crew.
First up is Dan Hibiki, who is set to come out this winter.

2D fighters are my gaming bread and butter, having been weened on to them at an early age thanks to side-scrolling efforts such as Double Dragon and Streets of Rage and discovering the grand-daddy of 2D fighters, Street Fighter 2 at an arcade in Majorca back in the 90s. Since then I’ve played them all, from classics such as Final Fight and the King of Fighters series to more obscure fighters such as Spectral vs. Generation, Waku Waku 7 and Groove on Fight. So the release of any new 2D fighting game always gets me a little over-excited… even moreso when it comes from the current kings (Imho) of fighting games, Arc System Works.
Why Arc System Works? Well they’re the company behind the Guilty Gear and Blazblue franchises And they’ve had a hand in a myriad of other fighting franchises, either as developer or distributor since way...

In recent years the 2D fighting genre has had something of a resurgence, thanks to the like of BlazBlue, and the new Guilty Gear games and a myriad of Japanese fighters – that would never had received a physical release back in the day – hitting places like the Playstation Network (which is home to a number of Very cool 2D fighters that seem to have flown under the radar of pretty much everyone!

It’s safe to say that growing up side-scrolling game were my gaming bread and butter. Platformers like the Super Mario series on the Nes, the Dizzy games on the C64; side-scrolling beat em-ups ike Double Dragon, Rygar and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on the Nes and later on 16-bit games like Final Fight and Golden Axe; and side-scrolling shoot ‘em-ups like Midnight Resistance (a game I sank waaay too much money into at the arcades and one that’s crying out for a HD remaster Imho) and the king of side-scrolling shooters, Contra – especially, in my case, the Nes version of the now-classic game.
Of course, given the recent trend for nostalgic indie games, we knew it wouldn’t be too long before those old-school side-scrolling games were given a new lease of life on places like Steam and now, thanks to the success of “Nindies”, on the Switch.

As a child of the 90s, I have fond memories of wasting money at the arcade. The Jersey Shore was a hotbed of different locations, with hundreds of games spread up and down the boardwalk. Outside of light gun games, the one genre that always caught my interest was the beat ’em up. Even with the rise of console ports, nothing had been able to touch playing these games with friends under the glow of an over-sized arcade machine. Nothing that is, until now, with the arrival of the Capcom Beat ‘Em Up Bundle.
Bringing together seven of the iconic studio’s best offerings, the Capcom Beat ‘Em Up Bundle is an arcade lover’s dream come true. Excluding licensed titles for obvious reasons, the compilation comes with titles both popular and unknown. Final Fight, Knights of the Round, Captain Commando, The King of Dragons and Warriors of Fate have all been ported previously,...

Vigilante mayors, clerics, knights, cyborgs, giant robots, and more come together in this big collection. Is it worth getting?

Release Date: September 18, 2018
Platform: PS4 (reviewed), Xbox One, Switch, PC
Developer: Capcom
Publisher: Capcom
Genre: Beat 'Em Up
Capcom has always been big on re-releases. That’s who the company is. It’s in its DNA. I can’t even begin to tell you how many times Street Fighter II was up for sale. Now, Capcom has hit a point when it can put together collections of 20-year-old classics in a brand new, nostalgic package.
With the 2D Street Fighter and Mega Man stuff already collected and out for current-gen consoles, Capcom went in a very intriguing direction for its next batch of re-releases. Capcom Beat ‘Em Up Bundle was announced so abruptly, I’m surprised it isn’t a Cloverfield tie-in.

Coming out of nowhere this morning, Streets of Rage 4 has been announced, bringing the iconic side-scrolling beat 'em up into the mordern age. Come inside to check out the first trailer and screenshots!
If you'd told me when I woke up this morning we'd get our first look at Streets of Rage 4 today, I would have laughed. It's been nearly 25 years since the series has graced consoles (Streets of Rage 3 launched in 1994), and things have been incredibly quiet ever since.
Sega's beat 'em up series launched as a competitor against the likes of Double Dragon and Final Fight, and while the sidescrolling genre has seen a resurgence lately, this still comes as a shock; albeit a welcome one. Streets of Rage 4 was just announced and is coming from publisher DotEmu, with developers Lizardcube and Guard Crush Games. Check out the swanky first trailer:
I'm really digging the art style for the game.

As a thirty-four year old, I’m the perfect demographic for Raging Justice, a game that harks back to a time in the mid-90s when visuals were determined to be digitalised after pixels had ruled games for so long. Yes, visually Raging Justice has more in common with Batman Forever, Killer Instinct and Mortal Kombat than Streets of Rage 2 or Final Fight. Gameplay wise, however, Final Fight is the touchstone here with a touch of Maximum Carnage.
The story of Raging Justice is a pretty straight plot of three characters (two cops and a streetwise teenager) cleaning up the streets by punching people in the face (and occasionally arresting them). The controls are easy to get to grips with the four face buttons on the Switch allow you to punch, kick, throw and jump your way through the levels, of which you can work through in either single or two player campaign modes.
