Just propaganda...nothing else
Loscanones19 August 2006
Actually this is not a real movie . It's communist propaganda documentary ( like many other Romanian "movies" ) where you can see how a factory manager (actual senator Sergiu Nicolaescu )struggling to build a propeller(!) for some Romanian vessel .This "movie" is full of communist cliché and looks like it's inspired from Chinese propaganda films. I must say that acting it's not very bad ...because in real life, actors were big communists... so everything was very natural for them. Of course, nowadays - in real life - they are big democrats and experts in democracy . I believe that they are just big chameleons ...and probably this old "movie" it's necessary to be seen just to understand how a communist can become a fanatic "democrat". After you see this "movie", you need to watch some old tapes with actors in real life , to realize the "transformation" they suffer.

The True

Warning: Spoilers
The pre-final scene is an ironic view of those times in Romania. A big petroleum ship is launched. The technical manager of the all construction work is not presented on official TV. All the people who where against him are behind big flags on the TV screen. The bureaucrats and politicians get all the credits. This is an all time situation !!! The movie is not a propaganda movie. The main character is not a political figure , but rather a "human" figure. There is a permanent contrast between this character and the usual behavior of the society. The final scene is an ironic presentation of the official propaganda. // The pre-final scene is an ironic view of those times in Romania. A big petroleum ship is launched. Same old

This movie is the usual same old. Same old fauna of bad actors with good connections. The same old story of painting the communism as flawed, but filled with saints. Flawed it was - nothing was available in a regime by the people for the people and with the people in prison. Same old popular heroes. Taking from the rich and giving to the poor. The only twist from the old church laws: the rich are simply corrupt communists.

Sergiu Nicolaescu is an experienced propagandist, probably Nicolae Ceausescu's favorite. So there is no trace of the Communist Party activity in such a place of corruption. Only workers. There is also no church, but church morals are everywhere. Another story for the believers.
