Another in a long line of juvenile pics rendering anyone over 30 as a moron or insensitive beast, "Pigeonholed" pigeonholes itself as a serious-minded comedy that has no hope of being taken seriously. Depiction of misunderstood youth (led by Justin Pierce in a blankly uninspired performance as Devon) is overly familiar, and this fact explains bro filmers Michael and Tripp Swanhaus wanting to push material to sometimes Gothic extremes.
Forcibly sent to a mental hospital for teens in a tony East Coast manse, Devon finds common bonds with nice Kayleigh (Galaxy Craze) and trouble with sex-crazed Eve (Allison Folland). Rather than delving into Devon's needs, desires and backstory (except through crude flashback device featuring Rosanna Arquette in a career low point), pic dwells on surfaces and hysterics, which permits for mucho bad acting.
