A quick update from Capcom shows Monster Hunter Xx (Double Cross) heading to Nintendo Switch.
Capcom updated theiir official website with the new listing showing Monster Hunter Xx on the Nintendo Switch. No futher details have been revealed just yet.
The good news is we probably don't have to wait for E3 to hear more about this one. Instead The Monster Hunter Championship event is taking place this weekend which is where we can most certainly hear more about the upcoming game.
Xx is an expanded version of Generations which released for the 3Ds in 2016 for Na, and 2015 for Japan. We can expect this to have a similar situation where it releases in Japan first, and following regions later. It is unclear when we will see it so far though.

Frozen River producer Charles S. Cohen has acquired rights to Ben MacIntyre‘s bestseller Double Cross: The True Story Of The D-Day Spies, with plans for his production-distribution company Cohen Media Group to turn it into an international miniseries for cable and broadcast. The final installment of MacIntyre’s World War II trilogy is based on the efforts of five Allied operatives who specialized in turning German spies into double agents. They greatly aided the success of the D-Day assault and eventual Allied victory. The first two books in the trilogy from MacIntyre, an editor at the Times Of London, were Agent Zigzag and Operation Mincemeat; Crown published Double Cross in July. Stephen Dembitzer negotiated the rights deal on behalf of Cohen and CAA’s Robert Bookman on behalf of MacIntyre. On the feature film side, Cohen Media recently released Lorraine Levy’s The Other Son, starring Emmanuelle Devos and Pascal Elbe,...

This weekend, Summit Entertainment is going to try to launch a new franchise with Tyler Perry starring as "Alex Cross," a character created by publishing juggernaut James Patterson, in a film directed by Rob Cohen, who directed the first "The Fast and the Furious," kicking off one of the few reliable franchises Universal has at the moment. This is a perfect storm of franchise-friendly energy, and with the announcement this week that they are already in development on "Double Cross," the follow-up film, it seems like Summit is about as confident as a company can be. And why not? Tyler Perry...

Tyler Perry and Matthew Fox's new action thriller Alex Cross doesn't come out until Friday, but production company Qed is already planning to make a sequel based on the James Patterson novel Double Cross. This is the 13th book in the Alex Cross series and here's a description of the story:
Just when Alex Cross's life is calming down, he is drawn back into the game to confront a criminal mastermind like no other. The elaborate murders that have stunned Washington, DC, are the wildest that Alex Cross and his new girlfriend, Detective Brianna Stone, have ever seen. This maniac adores an audience, and stages his killings as spectacles in public settings. Alex is pursuing a genius of terror who has the whole city on edge as it waits for his next move. And the killer loves the attention, no doubt–he even sets up his own Web...

It takes a lot of faith to plan a sequel for a movie that hasn’t even hit theaters yet but Tyler Perry is already looking towards a second film based on the Alex Cross novels written by James Patterson.
I was hoping Alex Cross would be a great film because I love Patterson’s books, but the trailer doesn’t even make the film look good so I’m no longer expecting greatness. However, Perry seems to think the movie has what it takes to launch a franchise and is already in talks with Patterson to adapt Double Cross, the 13th book in Patterson’s series. Aside from the fact that the title lends itself well to a sequel, I can’t figure out why the later books are the ones being looked at. I know Morgan Freeman already portrayed the character in two films that covered some of...

Alex Cross star (and off-duty Madea) Tyler Perry is already finalizing a deal for a sequel (Alex Cross 2: Why Did the Alex Cross the Road?) based on James Patterson's Double Cross. Thus far, Alex Cross hasn't received particularly positive reviews (excluding those for Matthew Fox's pumpkin muscles), but it's projected to earn upward of $18 million in its opening weekend, which is solid for a film that only cost $23 million. Hopefully, the next one will involve A.C. going undercover as an overweight elderly woman, because that would be hilarious. ...

Don't cross Alex Cross. Because if you do, he will be cross with you. Cross, cross, cross. This weekend the action thriller club gets a new member with Tyler Perry, stepping out of his comfortable nightgown, make-up and glasses as Madea. Deadline has word that even though the big screen take on James Patterson's recurring detective character hasn't even hit theaters, Qed International is already looking at adapting Double Cross, the 13th book, for a film sequel. The adaptation from Rob Cohen only has 14% on Rotten Tomatoes at the time of this posting, but when has that stopped any sequel from moving forward? Alex Cross doesn't follow any specific book title, but here's the synopsis for Double Cross: Just when Alex thought his life was calming down into a routine of patients and therapy sessions, he finds himself back in the game--this time to catch a criminal mastermind like no other.

Normally I would roll my eyes at this news that the Powers That Be are already working on a follow-up to “Alex Cross”, the serial killer movie based on the James Patterson novel starring Tyler Perry that is opening this Friday. But this is a movie starring Perry, so placing money on it hitting #1 at the box office this weekend is probably as sure a thing as you’ll liable to get in this universe and beyond. And so, here’s news that Patterson and Summit Entertainment are already working on a follow-up to “Alex Cross”, to be based on the Patterson book “Double Cross”. (I guess every book title will have “Cross” in it somewhere…) Perry, once again, is expected back as the cop/psychologist, last seen chasing after a freakishly ripped Matthew Fox in the first movie. In “Double Cross”, Alex Cross once again battles a genius serial killer.

Before "Alex Cross" arrives in theaters tomorrow, there's one thing we know for certain: Cross lives. In fact, we already know Tyler Perry survives to see a sequel.
Based on James Patterson's popular series, "Alex Cross" follows the battle between a Washington, D.C. psychologist/detective, played by Perry, and a sadistic killer (Matthew Fox).
According to Deadline, the sequel will follow Patterson's 13th book "Double Cross," which features the detective gearing up to face off with not one, but two killers. No word yet if Fox's baddie or director Rob Cohen will be around for a round two.
Perry took over the role of Alex Cross previously inhabited by Morgan Freeman in 1997's "Kiss the Girls" and 2001's "Along Came a Spider." This marks his first time not being involved in any of the writing, directing, or producing of his film. Instead, he's focusing solely on his acting...

1.) I will be posting my review of Alex Cross later today and one thing you won't see in it is me suggesting a sequel, which we'll leave at that for the time being. Summit, however, whether to drum up some additional publicity or because they think they may legitimately have a hit on their hands are reportedly preparing a sequel to the film that finds Tyler Perry in the title role. Based on another one of James Patterson's novels, the sequel is eyeing the author's 13th Alex Cross book, "Double Cross", in which Cross must hunt down a killer that thrives on public attention and stages his killings as spectacles in public settings. I don't see how the first one warrants another, but best of luck. Deadline 2.) I recently asked if you would want to see a Ghostbusters 3 and 526 of the 693 people that voted either said "No" or...

"Alex Cross", the Tyler Perry-led reboot of the film series based on James Patterson’s forensic psychologist character, opens this Friday. Reviews haven't been kind thus far and it isn't likely to set the box-office on fire.
Yet with a budget of just $23 million (after subsidies), the film will almost certainly make money for those involved. In fact there's already talk over at Summit Entertainment of a sequel being put into the works says Deadline.
A deal is reportedly coming together that would see production company Qed International scoring the rights to Patterson’s novel "Double Cross" to serve as the basis for the next feature.
That book had the now retired Cross hunting down two serial murderers - Dcak, and Cross' former colleague Kyle Craig (aka. The Mastermind).

According to Deadline, a sequel to the upcoming Tyler Perry starrer Alex Cross called Double Cross, based on James Patterson's novel, is close to becoming a reality as a deal's coming together. Marc Moss and Kerry Williamson adapted Alex Cross, and whether the scribes will be back for Double Cross, remains to be seen. In the Double Cross novel, Alex's life is calming dawn when he's drawn back into the game to take on a new criminal mastermind. The murders in Washington, D.C. are unlike any that Cross and Detective Briana Stone have ever seen as the Audience Killer sets the stage for his killings for public view. The whole city's on the edge of what will happen next, with the killer hosting a live feed of his website. In the meantime in Colorado, the imprisoned Kyle Craig...

Despite the fact that most of the early reviews are negative (not ours though), Alex Cross will be receiving a sequel in the form of Double Cross, based on the novel of the same name by author James Patterson.
Deadline reports that Qed International, who was behind Alex Cross, are in the process of acquiring the rights to Double Cross, which will once again star Tyler Perry as the titular detective.
If you’re unfamiliar with the novel, you can check out the summary below:
Bestseller Patterson’s 13th “Alex Cross” thriller (after 2006′s Cross) pits the legendary profiler, now retired from law enforcement and working as a psychiatrist in private practice, against two serial killers. Kyle Craig, Cross’s former colleague in the FBI (who was revealed to be the Mastermind, a particularly vicious and resourceful murderer, in 2001′s “Violets Are Blue”), has managed to escape from a Colorado...

Alex Cross, the new thriller from director Rob Cohen starring Tyler Perry and Matthew Fox, is a terrible, terrible movie. The performances are all off, the camera work is incoherent, and the same can be said of the script. It's the kind of movie that deserves to crash and burn at the box office and wind up being sold on DVD racks at gas stations for $4.95. So why on god's green Earth anyone would want to create a direct sequel is far beyond me. Though the new film won't be out until Friday, Deadline is reporting that Tyler Perry and author James Patterson (who wrote the novels on which the movie is based) are close to a deal that would see them making a follow up to Alex Cross. The plan is to adapt the story Double Cross, the 13th book in the series, which features the psychiatrist/detective teaming...

Somebody's feeling confident. With "Alex Cross" currently sitting at a Rotten Tomatoes score of 30% and 35 over at Metacritic, you might think that the attempt to relaunch the character of Alex Cross -- played previously by Morgan Freeman in "Kiss The Girls" and "Along Came A Spider" -- would be a failure (read our review here). But if Tyler Perry fans have proven anything, it's that they show up regardless of critics, and frankly, so do audiences who have managed to make the ludicriously awful "Taken 2" number one at the box office for two straight weeks. So get ready for more Perry. Deadline reports that Qed International -- who put together the $25 million for "Alex Cross" -- are making a deal to nab the rights to author James Patterson's "Double Cross," which will serve as the second Alex Cross vehicle for Tyler Perry. Hooray. This time around, instead of hunting one serial killer,...

Alex Cross, the new, rebooted take on James Patterson’s criminal profiler, is only just about to hit Us cinemas this week (and ours on November 30), but a deal is already under way to have Tyler Perry reprise the role for a sequel based on Patterson’s Double Cross.Though the reviews for the first film have been, to be charitable, poisonous, the budget was under $25 million and both Perry and Patterson bring built-in audiences. Rob Cohen directed Alex Cross, but there’s no word yet on whether he’d return for any follow-up.Double Cross finds Dr Cross retired from law enforcement and practicing private psychology counselling. But his respite from dealing with evildoers is short-lived as two psychopaths decide to target him.As with the current film, there’s every chance that elements will be re-mixed for the screenplay and extra plot points bolted on (Alex Cross, for example,...

Who Wants to be a Millionaire?'s first non-celebrity edition in two years proved a ratings winner last night (July 9). The veteran ITV gameshow attracted 3.92m (17%) in the 9pm hour, adding 164k (0.9%) on ITV1 +1. Host Chris Tarrant previously called for the return of the Who Wants to be a Millionaire? general public edition, which ITV originally axed due to poor ratings. Millionaire managed to trump the second part of BBC One drama Blackout, which lost a hefty 1.5m on its debut last week. BBC Two's 9pm documentary, meanwhile, performed impressively as Double Cross: The True Story of D-Day Spies interested 2.3m (10%), beating Undercover Boss's 1.72m (7.5%) for Channel 4 (+1: 293k/1.7%), and Big Brother's 1.38m (6%) for Channel 5 (+1: 133k/0.7%). For a long while, Mike Newell has been the man developing Agent Zigzag, a fresh take on the real-life adventures of World War II double agent Eddie Chapman. But now it would appear that Newell has been given the Ghost Protocol treatment and that the spy has a new handler: Muppets director James Bobin.Chapman’s story, which was previously brought to the screen in 1966’s Triple Cross, was more recently explored in Ben Macintyre’s 2007 book. It follows the petty crook and all-round smoothie as he charmed his way into working for German Intelligence, only to turn things around and also serve Britain’s secret services.Newell had been working on the script with Rowan Joffe, who came aboard in 2011 to re-write Mark Bomback’s original script. There’s no word on whether Bobin will be bringing in someone new or take his own pass on the screenplay.Frankly,...

"Double Cross" was the cornucopia of double crosses. All sides were duping each other all over the place, making for a crazy ride. Did you breathe a sigh of relief when it was revealed that Nikita knew Carla was working with Percy? I definitely did!
When Carla found the phone left in Percy's makeshift holding room, I suspected she was being set up, but wasn't positive. Carla's actions were overly suspicious; they had to know, right?
Well, it turns out they definitely knew that Carla was loyal to Percy, but how it played out was quite a surprise. Nikita, Michael and Birkhoff have pulled off some brilliant plans, but never like this before. I love that the writers kept us, the viewers, in the dark about the full plan. Usually, we see them plan the mission and carry it out, so this was a pleasant twist.
When they openly discussed...

Nikita finally returns with a new episode this Friday.
As the action series fights for its third season life, what can fans expect from "Double Cross?"
Look for Percy to stand behind a number of Division agent assassinations, as he aims to undermine Amanda's authority, only for the head of Division to respond with a surprising offer: if Nikia lends her assistance, she'll hand over Ryan.
Check out the official CW promo and then click through photos from the episode now:...

We're working for Amanda now?!?
Coming off a couple of terrific Nikita episodes, the latest of which revealed some major truths, most notably Alex outing herself as Alexandra Udinov, this CW thriller is taking an extended hiatus. It will return on March 16.
That leaves fans with plenty of time to debate both the past and the future, as the following promo for the next new episode ("Double Cross") certainly raises many questions. View it now:

The scene opens with a woman who is dressing to impress and she meets up with another one. They steal a Ferrari and drive away. Danny (Carmine Giovinazzo) briefs his rookie officers on the car theft ring. Sixteen Ferraris have been stolen over the past four months. The first time we get to see him doing a briefing as sergeant. Danny rides with his rookie partner Lauren Cooper (Jeananne Goossen) and they drive to five parking garages. At the fifth one they come across a parked Ferrari with the engine still on. There's a dead woman in the boot/trunk. One of the car thieves. Mac (Gary Sinise) arrives and comments on the murder, "That photo puts her behind the wheel, now we got to figure out who put her in the trunk." Jo (Sela ward) analyzes the interior and finds traces of powder flecks, as well as a crushed electric device on the ground.

One of my favorite pieces we've ever done here on IFC.com was our Halloween 2009 list: "The 25 Scariest Moments in Non-Horror Movies." It featured great writing from critics like Matt Zoller Seitz, Sam Adams and others, and it was just a great topic. Arguably, the scary scenes in supposedly non-scary movies are more terrifying than the ones in horror movies because they catch us off-guard. You pay for "The Exorcist," you know what you're in for. You pay for "Raiders of the Lost Ark," you think you're in for an old-fashioned adventure until Nazis' faces start melting all over the place.
Our original list from 2009 holds up, but in the past two years there have been some new, unforgettably scary moments in non-horror movies. So in honor of Halloween 2011, here is an update. We typically like including YouTube videos in this sort of list, but these are recent movies so...

Lo strano vizio della Signora Wardh (The Strange Vice of Mrs. Wardh) (1970)
A.K.A. Blade of the Ripper
Directed by Sergio Martino
Inspired by the often-imitated Les Diaboliques, director Sergio Martino (also known as Italy’s Roger Corman) proves once again why he does giallo better than most. Starring giallo queen Edwige Fenech (What Are Those Strange Drops of Blood Doing on Jennifer’s Body, The Case of the Bloody Iris, Your Vice Is a Locked Room and Only I Have the Key, and many more) and George Hilton (The Case of the Scorpion’s Tail, The West Is Tough, Amigo), the film is a fashioned and engrossing thriller with impressive Italian locations, beautiful authentic interiors, awe-inspiring cinematography (by Emilio Foriscot and Floriano Trenker) and excellent sound design (Note the use of a heartbeat effect during a tense life-or-death scene is fantastic). Sky Living have just announced the acquisition of the ‘thrilling’ and ‘fast-paced’ Us drama/thriller Ringer in an exclusive multiple season contract deal with CBS Studios International.
Starring Sarah Michelle Gellar in her first network t.v. show since she retired the stake as Buffy The Vampire Slayer eight years ago, Ringer will debut on the CW Network in the U.S. on September 13th, before premiering in the UK ‘swiftly’ – i.e. probably within a week of our cross-Atlantic friends.
Buffy’s back with a duel role as two identical twin sisters in the murderous crime show from Supernatural writer-producers Eric Charmelo and Nicole Snyder. Thirteen episodes of 60 minute length have been produced for the season and we promoted some artwork that was shown at Comic-Con which carries the tagline “The Ultimate Double Cross”.

Nothing says “come watch my show” like a poster of Sarah Michelle Geller looking at her reflection in a window while displaying some sexy side boob. Entertainment Weekly was the first to get a hold of the new promo poster for CW’s Ringer. Now we know of course that Smg isn’t actually looking at herself; it’s her twin sister who she is impersonating to avoid the wrath of some mob. Bridget and Siobhan (weirdest twin names ever) both have trouble in their lives and mystery is afoot.
Much like the posters released during Comic-Con, this bears the tagline “The Ultimate Double Cross”. In case you couldn’t tell, that’s a play on words. Did you get it? Smg plays twins, so that means it’s double the cross. No? Well never mind then. I didn’t get it right away either.
How long does the show expect this premise to last?...

Ready to see two sides of Sarah Michelle Gellar?
The CW is readying its marketing campaign for the return of Gellar to primetime and EW has your first look at the network’s fall ad for Ringer. Photographers usually have to choose whether to shoot a star straight on or in profile. But the show’s dual-identity storyline lends a reason to show a second angle of Gellar in a reflection. Soon, this poster will grace billboards, buses and magazines everywhere along with its tagline, “The Ultimate Double Cross.”

It’s that special time of year where everything geek related from comics to television all gather at the same convention to announce and tease us with what’s to come. The San Diego Comic-Con is what I’m talking (please tell me you knew that, right?) and CW’s Ringer has its panel today. Entertainment Weekly got a first look at the new series’ promo posters and they look pretty snazzy.
The posters are of the typical variety, showing the main cast (Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ioan Gruffudd, Kristoffer Polaha, and Nestor Carbonell) dressed up all fancy and presentable. Ringer gets itself a tagline, “The Ultimate Double Cross.” Gellar is the big star here of course (she’s playing Two characters!) so she gets her own poster as well.
If you haven’t seen it, check out the preview for Ringer. It looks like the show is going to be very dense and complicated,...

Entertainment Weekly have just debuted Comic Con promotional artwork for CW’s new show Ringer, the first network series from Sarah Michelle Gellar since she retired her stake as Buffy the Vampire Slayer eight years ago. Time just flies doesn’t it?
After a brief flirtation with what looked like it could blossom into a successful film career (2004′s horror The Grudge was her biggest hit), she quickly became typecast as the horror victim (yes… despite kicking vampire and monster ass for so many years!!) and the desperate attempts to re-capture The Grudge’s success mostly fell flat on their face. The last few years you would be mistaken for presuming she had all but retired from the industry.
