The series 1 - 4 theme tune was the original recording of the theme tune "Dont Scratch My Soca" and a video montage of life in and around Peckham, people arriving on ships and an exterior shot of Shirley and Desmond outside the barbershop was used.
Series 5 & 6 had an updated opening sequence. A remix of the original "Dont Scratch My Soka", with added drum beats was used. And an alternative opening sequence of life in and around Peckham was used and different shots of Shirley and Desmond's outside the barbershop was used in different episodes.
Instead of the traditional "End of Part One" & "Part Two" advert break bumpers, a hand is seen flipping the sign on the shop door from "Open" to "Closed" and vice versa.
