The DeLorca family has been cursed ever since Carlos' grandfather was interrupted while conjouring evil spirits. The curse makes each DeLorca son turn into a vampire, and upon the birth of his succeeding son, the mother somehow dies. Carlos [ Paul Everett] doesn't want to see that happen to his nephew Juan [Chuck Faulkner], who is beginning to show signs of the curse, so he consults a psychic medium, Madame von Kirst, who assures him that there is a way to end the curse. It involves luring four girls to the DeLorca house and performing an incantation.
Rich and beautiful Yvonne, [Dolores Heiser] bored and unhappy, decides to take the advice of Madam von Kirst and move to Florida where she is told a new life awaits her. When she and three other girls -- Laura [Jan Sherman], Vickie [Rita Ballard], and Dana [Dolores Starling ]-- receive invitations to attend a free tour of the magnificent Casa DeLorca, they all accept. After a delightful guided tour by Carlos DeLorca himself, the girls are invited back the following night for dinner and to meet Carlos' nephew Juan. At the end of dinner, as they are sipping their cognacs, Yvonne passes out (unbeknown to anyone, Juan has drugged her cognac). Carlos suggests that Yvonne spend the night and go home in the morning. Laura has already left to keep a date with her boyfriend, but Vickie and Dana agree to stay with Yvonne.
When Laura fails to meet her boyfriend, he comes snooping at the DeLorca house. Laura has actually been abducted by Perro [Bob Letizia], Carlos' mute and retarded ward, and is being held in the cellar where she is tied down on an altar. Carlos is preparing the ritual that will remove the family curse. Carlos instructs Perro to let no one into the house during the ceremony, but Laura's boyfriend knocks out both Perro and Carlos and releases Laura. Interrupting the ceremony, however, results in the release of a mangy-looking ghoul [possessing Perro?] who kills them both. When Carlos comes to, he is able to subdue or kill [hard to tell which] the ghoul with a crucifix. Meanwhile, someone [Juan, the ghoul, or Perro possessed?] has ripped open Vickie's throat and bitten and turned Dana into a vampire. In defiance of Carlos' wishes, Juan has decided that he will get Yvonne pregnant in order to keep the DeLorca curse going, so he rapes Yvonne while she is still under the influence of the knockout drops.
When Carlos finds out that Yvonne is pregnant, he forces her to remain at the mansion. Yvonne is distraught, threatening to kill herself rather than bear a cursed baby. Carlos sends for the help of Madam von Kirst, who performs another incantation which will hopefully remove the curse from the child, although they won't be able to tell whether it worked until the child is born. She also puts a ward on Dana and Juan's coffins so that they cannot get out.
Seven or eight months pass. [We know this because someone's body -- Vickie? Laura? -- is discovered in the woods, and the detective says that it's been lying there for probably that long.] Yvonne is about ready to pop and is having a bad case of cabin fever, having been held prisoner in the DeLorca house since she first got pregnant. She begs Perro to take her for a walk outside, and Perro relents. However, on their way downstairs, Perro trips [or did Yvonne push him?], falls, and is knocked out or maybe killed. Yvonne takes refuge in the room where lay Dana and Juan in their coffins. Dana wakes up and tries to bite Yvonne, but Carlos stops her by ramming a broomstick through her back. Juan wakes up and also attempts to feed on Yvonne, but Yvonne rips down some curtains, frying Juan in the sunlight. Madam von Kirst reads the incantation instructions one last time and concludes that they have followed every one implicitly and that the child should be born normal. When they go to give the good news to Yvonne, they find that she has shattered a mirror and stabbed herself in the stomach with one of the shards. [Original Synopsis by bj_kuehl.]
