BTS footage reveals the strange possibility that one of the main cameras behind the ultra-mega-budget project, F1, is the prosumer Dji Ronin 4D, or we should call it, Dji Ronin 4D IMAX. Explore it below.
BTS of F1 Movie: Miranda with the Dji Ronin 4D F1 movie: Shot by Claudio Miranda on the Ronin 4D
F1 is an upcoming (and super anticipated) American sports action drama film created by the winning Tgm (Top Gun: Maverick) team: Jerry Bruckheimer as producer, Joseph Kosinski as director, Claudio Miranda as the Dp. YMCinema is investigating this intriguing project (articles here). Similar to Tgm, F1 is a “Filmed for IMAX” movie. We don’t know yet the main camera, however, we can guess that those filmmakers picked the Sony Venice as their main weapon of choice. Additionally, F1 will be aimed at movie theaters, and especially at the huge canvas, as confirmed by...

After making a name for himself with grounded action movies John Wick and Nobody, screenwriter Derek Kolstad is leaving Earth with Planet Death.
He teams with writer Robert Venditti and artist Tomás Giorello on the upcoming space invasion limited series, which publisher Bad Idea will release in early March.
The Hollywood Reporter has a first-look at the series, which takes place on a frozen, hostile planet millions of miles away from Earth as a human invading force attempts to take out a deadly weapon on an alien planet. It centers on Corporal Scott, whose battalion is wiped out within moments of landing on the planet, leaving him the sole survivor. According to the description, “Against overwhelming odds, Scott dares the unthinkable — cross behind enemy lines, survive the lethal landscape, evade capture by ruthless enemies, resist natural predators, face human deserters and finish the mission single-handedly. The Assassin’s Creed series has always been very lax when it comes to weaving in and out of fact or fiction. Its factual elements include aspects such as the layout of cities, landmark locations, and notable figures we encounter as characters. However, how the series uses such elements is where the fictional angle of the games is most apparent.
We can expect Assassin’s Creed Shadows to follow a similar narrative structure. The game has been in the news, facing some degree of controversy due to Yasuke, one of the protagonists. But taking a look at some moments from previous games offers a new perspective on the current backlash.

John Frankenheimer’s Ronin is coming to 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray in the UK for the first time, and a regular priced version has been added
Ah-ha! Now here’s just the kind of film that gives a modern home cinema setup a hell of a workout. The 1998 movie Ronin, starring Robert De Niro at the head of a terrific ensemble, is a really good film in its own right. What elevates it though is the work the late director John Frankenheimer did in shooting car chases around the streets of Paris.
The plot, for what it’s worth, involves a suitcase that lots of people are looking for. Frankenheimer – as we discussed in a podcast episode here – shot the film by putting cameras right down and dirty on the streets of the city. I remember watching the film in a cinema and nearly ripping the armrests off I was having so much fun.

It’s interesting to reveal that many DPs lately prefer using simple and technically straightforward cinema cameras to shoot high-budget action feature films. For instance, in Civil War, the Dji Ronin 4D 6K was extensively used to capture the middle of the action. It was defined by the actors as the ‘Invisible’ camera.
The cameras behind Civil War Venice 2 & Ronin 4D
In our previous coverage of the cameras behind Civil War, we were thrilled about the thought that the Dji Ronin 4D 6K was utilized to capture this A24’s most expensive film, and we were even more delighted that this movie will be screened on IMAX. So, we thought that this was the first time that the Ronin 4D was used to shoot an IMAX project. However, we got an email from Sony stating that the main camera is the Sony Venice 2. Indeed, the Venice 2 is the A camera.

It is after someone passes that everyone truly understands the kind of person they were. Matthew Perry’s untimely passing shook the entire world to its very core. It was as though everyone had a sudden realization of their mortality all at once. Anyone who had ever been in close proximity to him all of a sudden remembered just how saintly of a person he was, feeling the need to share an anecdote.
Matthew Perry in Friends
Michael J. Fox, best known for his work in the Back to the Future series, is among these celebrities. For many years, he has had a nonprofit organization for Parkinson’s research called the Michael J. Fox Foundation. The actor revealed that Perry seriously helped the organization in its early years.
Not only did the Friends actor donate a huge sum to the non-profit, he also did not want his name attached to it.

Sony is not particularly pleased with how Rise of the Ronin performed in terms of sales. This title had a good reception from critics, but players were not so interested. Team Ninja’s exclusive PlayStation game offers an open-world experience set in feudal Japan, which is undergoing a profound cultural transformation.
In a recent interview, the producers of the title discussed their approach to this genre and how this experience will be useful for future projects. There is a lot of room for improvement. The producer, Yosuke Hayashi, discussed the game’s conception nearly eight years ago.

There were a lot of hopes resting on the shoulders of Rise of the Ronin, Team Ninja’s RPG set in 19th-century Japan, but it didn’t turn out to be the authentic Japanese masterpiece that it seemed like before release. After the success that PlayStation enjoyed because of Ghost of Tsushima, it felt like all of the required foundations were laid out for Sony’s next Japanese outing.
Still, it’s not like Rise of the Ronin is a bad game since most of the reviews are generally favorable, but according to reports, the game may not have been the hit that Team Ninja’s parent company, Koei Tecmo, was looking forward to.

Action star Tom Cruise is often regarded as one of the last stars in Hollywood right now. The actor is known for his commitment to the cinematic experience through films such as the Mission Impossible franchise and Top Gun: Maverick. While Cruise is one of the biggest stars in Hollywood, the actor has also faced many struggles in life. The Risky Business star has come under fire for his association with the Church of Scientology and for his failed marriages. When the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin comic book started coming out, it was a major hit for Idw Publishing, as well as a major moment in the evolution of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise overall. The comic book was written by Kevin Eastman, Peter Laird, and Tom Waltz, and showed us a dark and grim future in which Michelangelo survived as the only remaining turtle. Rise of the Ronin is PlayStation’s take on the Soulslike genre that features Japan in an era where violence is at an all-time high. Team Ninja and their history with the genre has proven beneficial for their latest project and previous promos and advertisements have reached their objective by attracting fans. However, Sony might have jumped the gun a little too far and ventured into spoiler territory.

Team Ninja’s Rise of the Ronin has been a hot topic in the gaming community. Not because it’s extremely good, but not because it’s a terrible game either. No, the issue falls somewhere in the middle—people think it’s either a really boring but okay-ish game, or they find it a good, average game.
The reception of the game has been so mixed and lukewarm, that even fans coming to its defense have been defending the game from criticism in an interesting way. But this also opens up an interesting conversation on what makes a game ‘good.’

Director Fumihiko Yasuda has revealed the games that served as an inspiration for Rise of the Ronin, his first-ever open-world game.
In a recent interview with Vgc, Yasuda mentioned he was playing games like Assassin’s Creed and Red Dead Redemption while conceptualizing Rise of the Ronin. The idea for developing an expansive open-world game while staying true to Team Ninja’s mastery in Ninja/ Samurai games was ruminating in Yasuda’s head around eight years ago.
While Team Ninja is popular for its high-stakes and fast-paced action games, Ronin is the developer’s first open-world title. In its previous titles, like Nioh and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, Team Ninja focused on tight pacing, high-stakes, and parry-driven combat. It’s barely been a couple of days since the release of Team Ninja’s Rise of the Ronin. Going by the reviews, however, those who have so far rated the game positively believe the game should be given enough chance before being slammed immediately.
Fans believe Rise of the Ronin should not have a similar experience to what happened with another PlayStation exclusive, Days Gone. Bend Studio’s title was heavily criticized when it was released back in 2019, only to be praised years later.

Team Ninja is a very well-known video game developer; they have been made popular by their long-term investment in games with painstakingly well-designed combat mechanics. Fast-paced one-on-one sword fighting has become the forte of Team Ninja. They have even proven it multiple times with Ninja Gaiden. But Rise of the Ronin runs with that mechanic in a whole new direction!
Rise of the Ronin is Team Ninja’s latest game that will release exclusively on PlayStation 5. This is an open-world game combining the mechanics of Sekiro and Nioh in a very interesting manner. But some fans cannot help but notice that maybe Team Ninja took away something special from this game in an attempt to give it a massive open world.
Did Team Ninja make a mistake by making Rise of the Ronin open-world?
A still from Rise of the Ronin
Open-world games have a way of forcing developers to re-think all their work.

Without a doubt, Soulslike games are very popular right now among the gaming community and it is all because of the Japanese video game development and publishing company, FromSoftware. Their Demon’s Souls and the Dark Souls series popularised this subgenre of action role-playing. These video games are known for their high difficulty levels in a dark fantasy setting.
Team Ninja’s Rise of the Ronin
In the past two decades, FromSoftware has successfully mastered the art of creating Soulslike games, but now, other video game studios are trying to follow in their footsteps. Team Ninja’s latest action-role-playing video game, Rise of the Rōnin, has adopted the classic Soulslike game difficulty as it punishes the players for dying. The game’s director, Fumihiko Yasuda, revealed that the game features a progression resource called Karma, which makes the game quite frustrating for the players.

Team Ninja’s Rise of the Ronin is shaping up to be one of the best action titles of 2024. Here’s when you’ll be able to download and play it.
Rise of the Ronin is scheduled to be released on March 22 for PlayStation 5. The game will be available to play at midnight on that day in all supported global regions. While that technically means that you can use the New Zealand trick to play the game a little early, some PlayStation fans find that the workaround that the console requires isn’t always worth the effort.
Regardless, you will be able to pre-load Rise of the Ronin starting on March 15 if you’ve already purchased the game. It’s recommended that you install the game early if you are able to do so as Rise of the Ronin‘s initial file size is over 96 Gb. That’s not quite...

Rise of the Ronin is the latest Team Ninja project and their first open-world game. Being a Team Ninja game, it will be messy, chaotic, and time-consuming. The developers had the initiative to integrate convenient game mechanics that will lighten the load on a player’s shoulders.
Players will take on the role of a ronin as they fight for their beliefs and nation and meet new allies, enemies, and many more characters. From the previews alone, the game will heavily rely on a player’s skill and timing as they explore the world and take matters into their own hands.

Rise of the Ronin is the first open-world project for Team Ninja, as they greatly deviate from their signature linear and narrative-focused structure of story-telling after being inspired by previous soulslike titles that went the same route. Another game that possesses great similarities is Ghost of Tsushima, though it is far more user-friendly than the likes of Elden Ring or Bloodborne.

Rise of the Ronin is heavily influenced by previous Team Ninja titles and the infamously hard but satisfying soulslike genre that FromSoftware has been pioneering throughout the years. Some people welcome difficult games and face them with confidence and ease while some prefer a chill gaming experience. Fortunately, Team Ninja has players covered.
Not everyone has the same level of skill or even time to invest in a very long and complex game that can take a couple of hours to learn. Team Ninja acknowledges that there are players who complain about the insane difficulty that other soulslike game has, but still have the interest to try and Rise of the Ronin could be their entry point in that specific genre.

Rise of the Ronin is PlayStation’s latest exclusive title for the PlayStation 5 that Team Ninja develops, and the release is just right around the corner. The game will take the players back to the Bakumatsu period when the developers saw it fit their vision of telling an open-world samurai game and players have full agency over their character.
Decision-based games are always exciting, getting to see the results or the consequences after one choice can have a lasting impact on the story. However, the developers mean to honor history so the choices each Ronin makes will have little to no impact on the general outcome of the story. It is intriguing to see what the team has cooked up as players take on the role of a ronin.

There are some things that Elden Ring excels in above other titles but there may be an upcoming Soulslike game that has one aspect that it couldn’t match. The FromSoftware title is well known for its challenging combat system and variety of weaponry available but one thing it does not have is a certain defense tactic which was spotted on Social Media.
Rise of the Ronin, the PlayStation exclusive developed by Team Ninja and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment is set to launch on 22 March. Previously, they had already brought games like Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth and Spider-Man 2 to PlayStation 5, and in the near future, fans can expect incredible games like Silent Hill 2 Remake, Stellar Blade, and Rise of the Ronin to be released.
Each one of these games provides an incredibly different experience for the gamers. Fans would not have to choose between them, given the fact that no two games on this list are the same. But the most interesting title in this whole list is no doubt Rise of the Ronin, a game that will be launched later this month and take players to Feudal Japan. However, it looks like it has already hit a massive hurdle.

Hiroyuki Sanada is one of the most respected actors in Japan, and he has successfully carved a niche for himself in Hollywood with his unique set of skills. Sanada’s rise to fame has been slow, but he is finally at a place where his voice is heard and honored in the industry. Hiroyuki Sanada made his Hollywood debut in The Last Samurai in 2003, where Tom Cruise played the protagonist. Since then, he has gone on to lend his expertise in the fields of martial arts and Japanese culture, and after two decades of work, his efforts have paid off.

Sony is enjoying great success with the PlayStation 5. Pretty much every first-party game launched since the launch of their latest console has been a massive success. They have also been much ahead of their direct competition, Xbox, in every way, giving Nintendo a tough time too. All this has happened thanks to Sony’s dedication to bringing the best exclusives to their platform.
But now its momentum seems to be slowing down. And this is not just an observation; it is in fact the official statement from Sony itself. They have suggested that the demand for Sony’s consoles is going down, and this has officially marked the “latter stage” of the PlayStation 5’s life cycle. And they have already started thinking about the future.

Three times make a tradition, right? It is (now) a holiday tradition of sharing a poster variant for Stanley Kubrick's final film, an alternate Christmas movie classic. Modern movie lovers may go to The Apartment, Die Hard, Gremlins, or Chungking Express (perhaps even Ronin) as an unorthodox bit of viewing for the season, but my choice for over two decades has been Eyes Wide Shut. Below is a poster variant by artist Jean-Sébastien Rossbach and published in 2016 by Lady Lazarus Press. At the top of the design is the dollar bill pyramid at the top light rays emanating from its all seeing eye giving off general Illuminati vibes. At the bottom, the classic poster iconography of Nicole Cruise & Kidman, pre-coitus, in front of the mirror. And in the middle,...

In 2013, filmmaker Carl Erik Rinsch made a minor ripple with his FX-laden Keanu Reeves vehicle "47 Ronin." The actual story of the 47 Ronin comes from an incident in actual Japanese history in 1703, but has since been adapted thousands of times -- often under the name of the Chushingura -- becoming one of the most famous stories in Japanese history. Rinsch's film, however, added monsters and dragons to the story, transforming it into a typical fantasy blockbuster rather than a proper historical epic. "47 Ronin" only made $151 million worldwide on a reported $175 million budget.
It was enough, however, for Rinsch and his wife, Gabriela Rosés Bentancor, to court Netflix about their dream project, a sci-fi TV series called "Conquest." It was enough, however, for Rinsch and his wife, Gabriela Rosés Bentancor, to court Netflix about their dream project, a sci-fi TV series called "Conquest." In 2018, when streaming services were booming in earnest and the Streaming Wars were getting into full swing, Rinsch felt the time was right to pitch his new idea. Even for Netflix, $55 million is a huge chunk of cash to drop on a series…especially if they don’t receive a single completed episode. But that’s just what happened when Netflix put 47 Ronin director Carl Rinsch in charge of a sci-fi saga, which has its own backstory involving Covid conspiracies, cryptocurrency and pandemic-era paranoia. Now this is worth a 10-part doc!
In a new feature by The New York Times chronicling Carl Rinsch and his quasi-attempts to make Conquest at Netflix, it’s claimed that the director “discovered Covid-19’s secret transmission mechanism and to be able to predict lightning strikes” as well as put a fifth of the budget into cryptocurrency and blew it on lavish items like several Rolls-Royces and designer clothes. Rinsch, for his part, is now suing Netflix for breach of contract, claiming they owe him $14 million. Yeah, good luck getting that check, Carl…...

Comicbook artist and writer Frank Miller, the man behind classics “300,” “Sin City” and “Daredevil,” is working on his new projects through Frank Miller Presents, the publishing banner he launched last year.
Miller, speaking at Lucca Comics & Games this week, told Variety what drove him to embark on this new creative venture. “I’d say I was driven by restlessness. I wanted to take advantage of my experience and my reputation, and to recognize that now it’s time to be an adult.”
Being aware that “the industry has been running down a certain path for a very long time,” Miller felt ready to explore new avenues and to work with undiscovered talents.
Frank Miller Presents is currently focusing its efforts on two main projects. The first is “Ronin,” whose new volumes are in the works. A sequel to the 1983-1984 limited series, the cyberpunk tale is based on Miller...

Keanu Reeves has been at the forefront of some of cinema's most important franchises, including "The Matrix" and "John Wick." Even one of his biggest bombs has, against all odds, also become a franchise. Reeves starred in Universal's tremendously expensive blockbuster "47 Ronin" back in 2013. It was a major flop at the time and actually hurt the actor's career a bit. But nearly a full decade later, everything came full circle, and a sequel to that flop was released. Yes, was! As in, it already came out ... last year.
"Blade of the 47 Ronin" is a sequel to the movie in question, and debuted in 2022. One would be forgiven for not realizing it, as it wasn't quite as big as the original, to put it mildly. Unfortunately, Reeves didn't return for the follow-up, but for those who enjoyed that film, there is a sequel out there you can watch right now.
