In what is rapidly transforming from frustrating trend to infuriating plague on the sport, yet another massive Ufc main event is being scrapped at the last minute due to injury.
The highly-anticipated light heavyweight championship fight between current title-holder Daniel Cormier and the returning former champ Jon Jones is now off the card thanks to a reported leg-related injury suffered by Cormier.
The headliner of April 23rd’s Ufc 197 was a rematch of their previous title clash at Ufc 182, which “Bones” won by unanimous decision in what would be his final fight before being stripped of his championship due to multiple legal issues. Cormier then went on to defeat Anthony “Rumble” Johnson by submission for the held-up belt at Ufc 187 and defended it successfully against Alexander Gustafsson while Jones served his suspension.

A host of actors, friends and fans have all offered their condolences in honor of Paul Walker, and now the late actor's Jiu-Jitsu teacher Ricardo "Franjinha" Miller, who trained him for the "Fast and Furious" movies, has come forward with a heart felt message.
The actor and trainer met in 2004, and their training led to a longtime friendship. Miller created a Paul Walker Paragon Black Belt in Memoriam, through Paragon Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Kickboxing academy, writing, "A mutual friend had sent Paul my way, but I did not recognize him when he first walked in the door. In part, it was because he did not carry himself like a movie star, or a Hollywood big shot. Without the burden of a heavy ego, he was easy going with a ready smile."
Miller continued, saying, "Like the Spartan setting of the gym, he was simple and unpretentious. Although he came looking for lessons in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu,...

Though Ufc has turned a lot of fight fans’ attention towards the octagon, the world of combat sport has a lot more to its locker than that and the heavy prize purses of boxing. This weekend, the world’s premier stand-up fighting league – the Glory world series returns, pitting the world’s greatest kickboxers against one another.
This global event is the best opportunity combat sports fans will get for a taste of what the sport can offer as a spectacle, and the roster of fighters is a particularly eye-catching draw. The card features some of the best K-1 and Thai Boxers in the UK, with the main event going to Remy Bonjaski v Tyrone Sprong.
And among the bouts, taking on Adam Hadfield in a prelim bout is Marlon Hunt, the current 11 x Unified and Undisputed World Full Contact Kickboxing Champion, who took a few minutes out of his...

The Ufc has announced on Twitter today two huge match-ups to the upcoming Ufc on Fox 7 card on April 20, 2013 in San Jose, California.
The first is a thrilling unification match for the Ufc and Strikeforce Lightweight championships between the Ufc’s champion Benson Henderson (18-2) and the newly incoming Strikeforce champion Gilbert Melendez (21-2). Bendo is currently the #1 ranked Lw in the world with Gilbert Melendez ranked #2 as Frankie Edgar (14-3-1) departs the division to face Jose Aldo (21-1) at Featherweight. Even more enticing is that both fighters are ranked on the P4P list, as well. Benson is ranked #5 and Melendez is #8.
Joining them on this card is the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix winner and former Olympic wrestler, Daniel Cormier (11-0), facing off against former Ufc Champion and submission specialist Frank Mir (16-6). Daniel Cormier is one of the fastest rising stars in mixed martial arts after crushing...

Below director Jonah Tulis shares a scene from his Mixed Martial Arts (Mma) documentary "Such Great Heights," currenly available On Demand on via iTunes. The film follows welterweight Mma fighter Jon Fitch as he prepares for the fight of his life against perennial Ufc Champ, Georges St. Pierre. While Fitch focuses on his training, the story weaves through the daily triumphs and challenges of the other fighters at the American Kickboxing Academy (Aka). The Film I come from a scripted comedy background, so “Such Great Heights” was quite a departure for me, both stylistically and creatively. But the more I worked on the film, the more I realized that whether you’re making a comedy, a drama, a narrative feature or a documentary, there is always one constant: it’s all about the characters. And in the making of this film, we certainly found some incredibly compelling and surprising characters; characters,...

All week Spike has been running promos for the latest episode of The Ultiamte Fighter hinting at the eventually demise of Tito Ortiz as coach on Tuf 11. Unfortunately it's not like this is news to Mma fans as the Ufc already spoiled the season before the third episode.
With the foreshadowing of "Tito issues" being the main marketing push, the episode immediately begins with the coach of Team Punishment telling his team that he may need surgery on his neck. Ortiz says that his there is a bulging disc in his neck between his C6 and C7 vertebrae (right at the base of your neck), which is pinching the nerve causing head aches, dizziness and pain through his legs. If Ortiz's symptoms are accurate no commission worth its salt would sign off on him fighting (No wonder the city of Vancouver had all those issues regarding insurance). Before we get...
